Hey! I'm from Korea. I agree with Vanessa-I also think Korean kids are studying harder than we expect. Recently, I heard about a kindergarten that teaches high school-level subjects like calculus, which made me feel frustrated. The purpose of this is to prepare kids for admission to prestigious universities, but I just can't understand it. I want my kids to have fun and not feel stressed about studying. That’s one of the reasons I decided to move to the U.S. I want to provide them with a good environment to grow, but I also believe it’s important for them to take responsibility for their own lives. Thanks for your video! I learned some great expressions, and it really made me reflect on the reality in Korea.

You two have already traveled abroad, and as for me, I never did, but I'd love to; the US 🇺🇸 is my first international destination in mind. I love learning English anytime I want, and I also started learning Italian this year 💜😊. Thanks a million for everything you've done for me, sweet Vanessa.

Vanessa and Dan, thank you for this wonderful lesson. As a Korean myself, I really enjoyed the conversation as it is, while picking up quite a few useful expressions. (I'll definitely try to make use them in my daily life) Your experience in S.Korea, particularly, has grabbed my interest, reminding me of my first travel of America. I used to work part-time as a camp counselor in Massachusetts. What really shocked me was that kids stayed in that summer camp for extended period of time ranging from 2 to 8 weeks. That was unimaginable in where I come from. As you pointed out, Korean parents send their kids to school and private institutions to let them get ahead of their peer, which I think too suffocating. I've become a daddy of twin kids. I don't want to raise my own kids like other parents. (Not sure if it's possible here in Korea, though) During the entire summer camp, I had to be stuck in the summer camp sites the most of the time, because it was so remote and off-the-beaten-path. Later, I've had an opportunity to travel some areas in the U.S., while pursuing my degree in the U.S. I found that not all American cities are well-equipped with public transportation systems. Well, I try not to overgeneralize my own experience, though. I've just left this comment to say that I really enjoyed the lesson today. Again, thank you for the great lesson as well as a food for thought.

I can say, you guys can explain take time all the expression and words , it’s amazing experience.
I like it to learning English and you are Vanessa amazing teaching ❤
I hope you guys have a wonderful day
And talking about everyone ask about USA or how’s it’s been American native , yeah, I can say everyone, everyone out of across country thought how’s it’s good to living here in USA , amazing culture, people, family, friends, place , security, life style, work hard .
About trip, I asked the majority my client and most they didn’t travel by anywhere, it’s weird, no money and no interest to know how’s it’s others people lives
    Thank you ❤

The education pattern you said surprised you in Korea is also very common in Poland and otger Eastern Europe countries. Kids have multiple classes after school, whether it's learning English, extra maths or playing piano, they are kept busy all day. Sometimes even eating their lunch in a car while going from class to class. And also getting high scores in exams.
