Bjork is a bit like Stevie Nicks when a single person writes disjointed or fractured lyrics, or when multiple people write different parts of a song with disjointed lyrics-the lyrics come across as ‘nonsensical’ (which is what Christine McVie used to say of Stevie Nicks’ lyrics), but the combination of the music and lyrics tells a story by setting a tone by plucking heartstrings with the emotional tones of their voices
Bob Geldoff used to say of Sinead O’Conner that she was a ‘keener’ -keeners were people who were hired to wail at funerals to better convey the emotions of the story of the dead’s life and death
