      It's a phenomenon,
      Forgotten Baby Syndrome.
Forgetting a child in the car occurs most often when a parent has a change in routine or is absent-mindedly multitasking while the child is in the car.

She was texting the mother after she picked up the baby and her aunt. Surely that would have reminded her?
Why did she refuse a drug test? It should have been mandatory. Her husband also said he had words with her previously for leaving the baby to sleep in the car. There is no excuse for leaving a baby to sleep in the hot car. I don't believe she forgot. Rhonda is still driving around town in the car the baby died in. That's callous.

42 Years ago when raising my first child I went to the mall with a friend we both had a toddler. We got out of the car, she grabbed my stroller opened it and I put my kid in. She took the stroller and we proceed to the mall. We walked a few feet into the mall and I said something felt odd, as she pushed my daughter she suddenly remembered frantically that her own child was still in the car. This set up to babysit a child on a ; not an every day schedule and babysit at someone’s home bringing the baby of another family could be chaotic with all the distractions in life like cell phones today. I should note I could see the car at all times but my dog was laying down on the back seat. Fortunately as I was about to put the key in the door I remembered the dog amd ran back to get him. I think that is what happened here. She left the baby in the car to meet with 2nd mother and then got distracted and forgot. She should never habe left the child in the car unattended. Naw.. no one who's sober or in their right mind would forget a child that long. Maybe 5 -10 mins max. Especially when that's her JOB she's on the clock. I bet she's popping pills , got busy and then fell asleep otherwise she intentionally did something to that poor child and was covering it up with letting the car thing be the outcome. I can't wrap my head around the HOW this happened with a loving , sober care taker
