You can! Any number sent to a game swap nodon is recieved and output at the receiving game swap nodon. This means you can only send 1 whole number, but with clever encoding and decoding you can send any number of values through to another game!
This was very helpful. The Launch Object Nodon can be tricky with just warping, so I knew this Nodon would be right for me. BUT I had no idea how to work it, so I got help from this tutorial. Thank you for making this, and making something a bit more clear for the community.
"Back to previous" only works if you've already swapped to the game from another game without leaving the play screen in between. It does as its name suggests. I don't know if this was just supposed to cover the basics, but you can transfer data between games with the Swap Game Nodon. As soon as it receives any signal other than 0, it will swap to the new game, and the output of the Swap Game Nodon in the new game will send that signal on the first frame. Unfortunately there's only one input and output, but you can make compression and decompression algorithms involving Map, Counter, and Subtract Nodon to effectively send multiple "simple" values.
Yes that is correct, I didn't swap back to the original game hence why it didn't work. Yeah I'm aware some data can be transferred, but this tutorial was covering just the basics like you said. I was actually thinking of creating like a game transition tutorial where it specifically transfers data from the output of the swap game nodon. Thank you for mentioning all of this! :D Edit: I was actually thinking I haven't thought of any sort of way to do decompression/compression algorithms since it is only one output. There would have to be a way though, I could probably mess around with it a little. I'm not sure if this would work completely since the output is always 1.0 and that isn't any "new" type of data.
@@Oribloop Try this! It's a pretty compact and fairly straight forward encoder/decoder that can handle multiple two digit numbers. mygarage.games/game/1660
So ideally you could make like a town in 1 game then walking out of town through a touch sensor could warp you into the next game, being your “world map” and you could walk into a “dungeon” that warps you to that specific “dungeon game”?
The sad thing is... you'd need to download every level separately. It'd be cool if the game just sent you to the next level even if you don't have it in the games library.
