The first Oribloop video I ever watched was when he had 50 subscribers. I came back too the channel every day to see the uploads and one time he thanked his subscribers I forget what milestone but I couldn't resist I made that red button turn grey and now being thanked again is why I don't think I will ever unsubscribe
Everyone's saying "you don't need the Flag Nodon" and I'm here wondering why he used a Constant and a Comparison instead of a NOT. (In fact, you could use just the Comparison Nodon without a Constant, since the assumed input without a connection is 0.)
Can you do a tutorial on how to make a flashlight that works in the 2d perspective and can activate with the push/hold down of a button that the character automatically holds on game start
I wonder, can you set with a timer to auto shut off (maybe add a flickering before full off) maybe to make it so the flashlight has to be conserved. That would make for an interesting element in a game
I'm pretty sure there is totally a way to do this, that would be a very interesting element. I think people really want to see the battery feature as well!
I have achieved this sovCurrently making a horror game but with the flashlight I added a timer for How long it stays on and you have to wait until it charges so you can use it again
Yes, I've seen you've requested top down tutorials in other videos. I'll get right to work on them, I think specifically grabbing would be really cool to see, so I'll try to make a tutorial on that first! :D
Firstly, congrats on 1k subs, dude! That said, I wanted to point out that for this setup you could directly connect the counter to your effect here. The end result is the same; you're feeding either a 0 or a 1 into the effect nodon. I also wanted to suggest, could you do a tutorial on the advanced camera nodons? Those are probably the one group of nodons that I still can't get to function properly, and it'd be pretty cool to figure out some way to get those to work and see what camera tricks they make available to us.
Thank you thank you dude!! :D Also yes the flag nodon is unnecessary in this tutorial, but my plan was to add onto this and make like a low battery gauge or have other functions connected to it. But this is very true it is not needed especially if you are running low on nodons. Excellent suggestion! I have GBG Basics and I was planning on doing some sort of GBG Advance Mechanics because there are a lot nodons I can shine some light on. I've been messing around with some more "complex" mechanics and would love to make a tutorial on them, just didn't know if people were ready for them yet lol. So I will start planning some videos for them, thank you for this beautiful comment!
@@Oribloop I'll let you know when it's out. Please play it on TH-cam because my TH-cam channel barely gets any views at all. Again, congrats for 1.14k subs!
Woah.. it has been 2 years.. and you have 5k!! Congrats. By the way.. you don't need counter, comparison and constant to make the flashlight to turn off. Just put "And" (Logic) and connect the button to input 1 and connect the Flag result to input 2 of the "And" and then put the "And" result to Flag off. Btw.. set the button to only trigger once.
i was playing around with the pitch black feature and decided to make my fun physics based puzzle game into a sort of horror game, and then added functioning lights and stuff... it took me 30 minutes to find out how to make a on off only to find out there's a nodon for it now...
Actually another way to fix this is with a UFO, make your UFO character and put the UFO high enough until the light does not disappear, I also find it better to use a UFO instead of a person because you can set it to a kid or an adult with height. Nice tutorial.
@@Oribloop Here is a tutorial on how to _make_ *text* -effects- on TH-cam. 1. *Bold* * *The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.* 2. _Itallics_ _ _The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog._ 3. -Strikethrough- - -The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.-
Hey buddy. Nice job. I also think you can ditch the counter and comparison. And just do an AND nodon. Attach the output of the flag to the and input and the button to the and input. Then the and to the off on the flag. That makes a 2 nodon toggle.
Good question! This would use some sort of UI layout with a texture to display the battery, I could possibly make a tutorial on it if I figure it out! Thank you for the suggestion!
Do you need the flag nodon for this? If the counter nodon has a count of zero it isnt putting an output out so the light effect would turn off wouldnt it?
I'm nit aure how well tuis would work since i haven't tried mysepf but you should be able to attach some simple objects to the head in the same way you would make a ui or a gun to make a flashlight then you could attach the light to the front of the flashlight instead of the person which might be nice for a horror game going for a more realistic approach idk though i'll try later and let everyone know
This should work with a third person layout. The only problem is it will be very difficult to see the character, but I would have to try it out myself too!
Thanks! You have the best TH-cam tutorials ever. And you deserve way more subscribers and views! You have helped me out a lot and you actually look back at you comments! I’m subscribed just saying
Yeah lol I just figured it out that I could've just connected the counter directly to the effect. But the flag will have a role in making like a low battery system of something like that!

The counter itself can be a toggle! It works just as well as using both a counter and a flag

So like you go through the rings and you get certain effects? Yeah I can totally do that!
This did not work for me so I connected the button to the off port
Instead of using Comparison to turn it off, you could have used NOT.
Both connection points are better at centre so it doesnt clip
Honestly that would probably work a lot better! Thank you for mentioning that!
You could have used just the counter. It has the same value as your output, the comparison and flag are unnecessary.
