I know I am late to the party here, but just discovered both Indonesia and Heavy Cardboard. Watched most of this to learn how and came in a close 2nd place in a 4P game with 1647. I'll be back for more Splotter AND more Heavy Cardboard, and maybe one day earn my way to Heavy Con!
All these games i have been intimidated by and you guys make it a real possibility that i can get these to the table. You're awesome keep up the great work.
This game seems great. I found it was very tough to understand how good this was before (without having played it). Thanks all. Game added to list of wants.
Thanks a ton for putting this up. For the longest time, there was a dearth of decent video resources for Indonesia and this comprehensively fills all the gaps, be it rules explanation or play through :) The rules were explained very clearly and in an easy to follow manner and I shall follow the same routine while explaining it henceforth.
2:25:27 WOW. OH MY GOODNESS. Can someone tell me why I've never played this one before?! This is very neat. I'm super happy that you did a playthrough of this game. I just can't stop watching; too excited how the game will end!
I noticed two easter eggs :) At around 1:50:00 the rubber company Amanda picked is in the wrong place (it should be two regions upper). At 2:37:23 one link is missing in the shipping line, as Amanda's rubber company do not directly reach the ship she started from. Having said that, it seems to be a great game - I hope there will be a reprint -, and thank you Heavy Cardboard for the great playthrough :)
Great video! Convinced me to buy the game. One thing ANNOYS me though, spelling error in the game: it's not 'Siap Faji', it's 'Siap Saji' (I'm Indonesian). I suppose I just have to live with it...
Sorry if I missed this in one of the videos about the 3 games.... (thanks so much for them by the way!)... But which of the Splotters, between this, Antiquity or Food Chain is your (and fellow player's) favorite? (or anyone else reading this)....
at 1:06:00 Edward's plan to ship 1 rice to Amanda isn't also possible because he already used the red ship twice, he cannot use it three times because of the red hull value of 2. Or I'm wrong?
The game looks unique and really interesting. I do not think I'll ever play it simply because of how fiddly operations are. Was it necessary to concentrate so many provinces in the lower part of the map?
It definitely is a unique gem, apertotes, but I also can totally understand the operations being fiddly and a turn-off. There are custom-made maps that alleviate some of that on BGG and I'd suggest seeking those out, if so inclined. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Since goods scale in price but shipping never does it looks like production has a huge income generating advantage. So long as the players who plan to produce ensure cities are closely grouped shipping looks screwed.
@Edward, did the merger chainreaction you started went as intended if not what was your aim there. Just curious as that was the moment the clouds went open and a bright beam descended upon the game.
Not quite. I paid too much for the last one. Although, in all honesty, I messed up far worse, far earlier, when I let won the merger for the shipping company and I didn't get myself out of the hole that I'd dug. That said, I am glad that seeing that helped you absorb the game. Mission accomplished, even if I overdid it in that last one...but I wasn't catching Adrian either way. Thanks for watching and commenting, Jonas!
Did you guys do the shipping of rice correctly at around 2:15:00 mark. Matt has 10 rice to ship, but I think there is only shipping capacity/hull of 9 - 3 for Matt and 2x3=6 for Edward. Or am I missing something?
I was looking at the rules and think I you played correct, I got confused on whether Hull Player refers to max number goods a shipping company can carry or the max number of good each ship within a shipping company can carry.
When merging all the rubber: Could Adrian actually have bought that since he only has a level 2 merger? Or is it only the person activating the merger that has to have the merger at the appropriate level?
It's the latter. If you have a slot, it doesn't matter how many companies are merged together, it's still just one slot. The person who calls for the merger must have their merger level equal to or greater than the number of pieces of cardboard being merged together. Anyone can win it though, provided slots and money. Thanks for watching & great hat! ;)
I dont understand why the man with the hat stays without company so long, he does not seem to be happy with this, yet he does not take his opportunity to buy a spice company. Why?
The whole rice shipping nonsense in the middle could have been avoided if Matt hadn't insisted on doing it in the goofiest way possible. It's seriously not that difficult to trace out each rice with a line of $5 chips in order instead of tossing shit randomly and trying to figure it out after.

Just phenomenal. The players, the stream, the game.... all a pleasure to watch, well done.
Thank you, Anthony. We're working hard to make the best content that we know how to! Appreciate the kind words and feedback.

Mission accomplished in that case! Happy to help and thank you for saying as much, Garrett!
Good morining from Indonesia...selamat pagi

Sold me on this game! Thanks so much for the video!

Im in Indonesia actually; where did you buy it?
Finally a video out there on this. I guess my videos on this will wait then.
+Tesla Volta Games Just trying to help folks out. Thanks for watching!
It's good. There needed to be a new video on this game other than Scott Nicholson's fine but very old and low res video.
Absolutely fantastic video and game

It's possible that we missed one there. Thanks for watching so closely and we hope you enjoyed it, Emils!

ah, so the merger level only matters for initiating mergers. Interesting.
Where did you get the food pieces from in the video?
Would not want to pick on anyone but rubber does not necessarily require oil for manufacturing, back in the day it was produced from the rubber tree.
And Peanut Gallery got that. Awesome.
The Peanut Gallery is an amazing asset and an important part of every live-stream. They really are amazing, eh? :)
I think you forgot to mention that you can R&D someone else's player hull?
please play more non-mainstream 18xx. like 1817 for 8 hours haha
The video begins with the game already halfway. It seems like the teaching part is missing
+Mario Abad Fernández de la Cigoña The video is not finished rendering by TH-cam. Come back in a while and it'll be done and all will be fine.:)
Aaaah, alright!!! Thanks so much! I was sooooooo looking forward to this.

$75-100 for this game? Lol, kiss my butt. No way. Ugly as dirt, too.
