I got one Strat Ultra of a newer vintage with the LSR nut and one Strat Plus from early 90´s that used to have the Wilkinson that I swapped for the LSR as it´s much better at staying in tune. Love the Ultra, it´s my goto guitar together with my Gibson SG special from 1967.
I also use Ultra most, perfect work horse)

Wow, man, I’m on top of the world. I bought. 96 Ultra yesterday for 1800. I wasn’t aware of all the features until your video. Mine is a sunburst with quilted white guard. It looks like it’s never been played. It’s super inspiring guitar to play! I’m the happiest guy in the world with this Guitar!

yes, it's Fender's best production guitar hands down.. btw the VOX I'm using is not a tube amp and not really giving too good of a sound. I use it because it's light weight and has basic presets that are easy to tune, however i highly recommend another inexpensive combo with much better sound and performance in general, It'll work better with a high-end guitar..,check it out:

90’s ultras did not have stainless frets. But ultra was great, i still have mine bought new in 1997
You’re right, for some reason I thought they were stainless steel… you can install stainless steel frets aftermarket, if they really matter, however, in my experience having 2 Ultras I do not see much wear on the Frets they originally have , frets are pretty good quality..

In 1998 this was the most expensive production stratocaster. Fender '"strat Ultra"
$300 more than the Clapton and Buddy Guy signature strats.
yeah, cause they put best stuff in it, ebony wood, humbuckers, Wilkinson nuts, heap sprig etc... still the cheapest strat among expensive ones... )
Nothing is better. I have 2. The early 90s plus series is the best they ever made. Just try different pickus. I did. Everyboy hates the sensors , I like them. Try a super distortion in the bridge , or a PAF pro if you dont want high output. They both work very well.
I really like sensors on these Strats, don’t want to change anything to preserve the original sound and feel. I’m sure they’ll go up in price in the next 5 years, and people will be looking for original Ultras.
Will experiment with different pickups on my other Strats tho;)
