Due to the way the Steel core and shielding spreads the aperture window and rolls the highs off, Lace Sensors have a fatter sound with a bit less high-end than a standard AlNiCo pole SC of the same inductance value. The inductance of the Gold is like a late 60s Fender Strat at 2.2H. The Blue is up to a PAF level, and the Reds are even higher like a P90. I have a similar pickup set up in my old Parker NiteFly using Wilde NF series pickups that are completely noiseless and all closer to typical SC inductances from 2.4H up to 4.9H. The option of the high inductance Reds switching from either one to both in parallel is useful, but still up in the 4H PAF inductance range when in parallel. My setup drops down to 2H in parallel. So, it's like Filtertron bridge, but without the high-end roll off. Sounds very full and sweet with a mild 6~7kHz peak using my 160pF cable into a 1M Ohm input and 250k pots. Wilde NF's are really better noiseless pickups than anything else in every way, and cheaper than all but the very cheap, but questionable, GFS Neovins. Like the Lace Sensors, the Neovins need to be up close to the strings to sound right, which severely limits the options for dynamics ratio preference with a given guitar.
Love it when there is all the case candy!
I had a 88 strat plus in graffiti yellow I bought new. Played it throughout the 90’s. Fell out of love with the lace sensors.

The best they ever made. All the strat pluses were the best ever. Just play with different pickups if you don't like the sensors.
I have an identical 1996.
not for sale.
mine has a white sparkle pickguard though.
I think that would be Crimson Frost. Crimson burst would have either dark red (early) or silver metallic base coat edges.
Hi, thx for your comment. I base the name of the color on the info on Fuzzfaced (gotta love that website). www.fuzzfaced.net/strat-ultra.html
