    That shelf brings back a horror story for me, they have them in Hungary too. I was there about 20 years ago and I went in to the communal toilet that was out in the hallway for shower and there was a massive dump on the shelf. So massive the flush wouldn’t shift it. Any way as I was leaving there was a hot American chick waiting outside, and she said "hi" in the cutest voice. And all I could think about was that monster in toilet and how she would think it was me. When we were in the bar later I was so embarrassed as I new she thought it was me an I just couldn’t look her in the eye. Going up and explaining it wasn’t me was not an option.

    the shelf in the toilet is to make sure the water doesn't splash back and also the flushing mechanism saves water.

    I stayed in several places in the Netherlands , including Amsterdam - all the toilets were "normal", except one place in the countryside which had this "self" design.
    From what I know it is a very bad design and non hygienic. Here is some info on the subject:

    Very homely, my guess about the stepped toilet is that Amsterdam is below sea level so to accommodate pipe gradient ie flow in pipes a tradition of stepped toilets was created, as a fellow irish iam intrigued but also glad that you are blogging ur life ,but iam also curious as to your motivation? , I think the ladies will like de place!

    the reason the toilets are made like that is so when you poop you can see if your poop is healthy

    Nobody will rent you a house for longer than 1 year here. Be careful. It would be one of very few exceptions. Reason are the Dutch laws that make you gain rights as a tenant after renting a place more than a year.

      Lots of people rent their houses out for years in Amsterdam.

    Does everything included mean utilities?
    If so that's pretty resonably priced when you consider living in London or another central bustling city in Europe.

    • @ebizfacts
      @ebizfacts  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +HuskySMS4 Yup, including utilities.

      That's really good!
      Obviously without going in to alot of detail what district are you in?
      no street names or anything just the general area.

    The toilet "shelf."......just like the Germans ..the Dutch must have a very special relationship with their doodo ...
    As the Germans they like to give it a good inspection before they send it on its way....hence the inspection "shelf"!
    You'll have to go native and join in the inspection habit !:)

    • @Dr.BenjiBuddy
      @Dr.BenjiBuddy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +borderlord lol it's not to inspect, it's just so that the water won't splash.

    the ‘inspection shelf’ in the toilet is to inspect poop. I believe a doctor invented it.
