I understand Des not understanding the game, but with how smart Ben is in Rocket League, it's shocking that he wasn't picking up on the fact that you have to angle your shots to score. It's hard to see when Dylan does it, but whenever Leland does it, you can clearly see his character turn.
It also seems obvious that the goalie falling over is based on some kind of durability / stamina stat. I think it was like that in the gamecube Striker games, too. The goalie seems to wear down after multiple blocks (especially power shots).

You gotta remember stuff like that doesn’t come natural to everyone. Why do you think games have easy modes and tutorials these days? The more they play I’m sure they’ll get it lol I’m sure they haven’t played it much and probably too used to FIFA rules maybe.

RDC the goats for playing Strikers again, one of the best Mario sports series out there. Even if Battle League is a little lackluster compared to the two games before it (trust me, you guys should look into playing them, Charged is goated, find a way to have everything unlocked if you do play it), we love to see Strikers

I've watched this vid a few times, and i'm just now realizing the goalie blocked a power shot right as he got hit by that green shell that took him and Bowser out.
If you got hyperstrike available you don't need to get close to the enemy goal. You can shoot it from inside the enemy half of the field and if you hit both green areas perfectly when charging it becomes unblockable and gives 2 points.
Leland is my favorite for such a simple ass reason. I’m a bigger than average guy who usually beats his friends in video games and my name starts with an L too
