Great job explaining the system, it would be interesting if you tried using the games character and combat then make a video about it.

Nice to see videos about Mythic. I think you are using the Fate chart a bit wrong, though. You should be first setting the probability of the positive answer. Like, in question "is there a security camera?" you state that the probability is Unlikely (or 50/50 if you are unsure). After that you roll and if you get result under the number in the crossing of 4 (chaos factor) and Unlikely, the answer is "Yes" (there is a camera). Otherwise it is "no" (no camera). If you roll under the smaller number in the box, the answer is "Exceptional yes" (there is a camera and a security bot). So you always get an answer of yes or no Pair numbers cause the random event still.
Hope you find more sense from the fate check by using it this way. Cheers!

I am both intrigued and horrified. 😅

Thank you for your videos. I am exploring and learning about not just RPGs but solo RBGs, specifically. I found a TH-cam video for an RPG called Maze Rats. It is not complex and is a 2d6 game. Will the Mythic Game Emulator work with this game?
    Thanks so much...

Dear Artichoke. I've been thinking about an issue since I’ve viewed your great tutorial video…for example, let’s assume that a group of heroes goes in a path in a forest during the night and they want to know if ahead of them path is safe. As a solo player, you go with the RPG Rule Set skills that you running with, for instance, roll for a “perception check” or you should find your awnser in the Mythic “fate chart”? How do you manage that kind of situations? If you have the time to clarify me I would be very happy. Thanks in advance.

Miguel Salgueiro in your example, you can have a "perception check" for your heroes to find out if the see any danger in the path ahead. (First you have to decide IF there is a danger for them to detect). You have to decide how difficult is that "perception check". In other words how difficult is for your heroes to find out. If it is night time and they are in a forest it must be at least Above Average or even High difficulty. Then you see how good is your heroes's perception? Are they good detecting things? Is their perception High?
So you ask a question "Does my heroes sense any danger in the path ahead?"
You have Difficulty Rank of Perception Check as Above Average.
Your Heroes Ability of Perception is High as an Acting Rank on Fate Chart.
If Chaos is at 6-4 there is a 55% probability for your heroes to succeed at the "perception check".
You roll your D-100 and if the result is 55 or lower the answer is YES, they succeed at the "perception check" .
If it is 56 and higher they fail the "perception check".
I hope I understood your question and that helped you.

This reminds me of Marvel's rpg from the 90's . Had ranks feeble to incredible to unearthly. It was a 💯 d system.

How on earth do you convert the Mythra's d100 system to the Mythic d100 system? Do I roll a separate d100 for the system, because I don't understand how to convert it if mythra's scales and has upside down percent values.

I'm having trouble understanding the difference between a scene and a thread. I think a thread consists of multiple scenes?

  • @jameslemon7689

I'm confused. I thought you cross reverence the acting rank with the difficulty rank to get your percent chance of success. That's how they do it in the book in the examples.

Me too i have the book and here are the steps.
      1: State a question: Form a yes/no question.
2: Determine ranks: Determine the acting rank and the difficulty rank for resisted questions. The acting rank is the rank used by the initiator of the action. The difficulty rank is determined by the players. If this is an odds question, then determine the odds rank (the “resisting rank” in this case is set by the chaos factor).
3: Modify ranks: Apply any modifiers to the acting and difficulty ranks that are appropriate for a resisted question.
4: Determine probability: Cross reference the ranks on the Fate Chart for the probability of a yes answer to the question.
5: Roll: Roll 1D100. If you roll within the percentage range, the answer is yes. If you roll above, the answer is no. If you roll in the lower 1/5 of the range, then the answer is an exceptional yes. If you roll in the upper 1/5 of the failure range, then the answer is an exceptional no.
6: Interpret the answer: Draw the most logical conclusion from the results.

I would recommend to anyone new to mythic to please buy the blue book. It is difficult to separate the system game mechanics in the Orange book from the Oracle probability table(gm emulator). I didn't do it and had to read the book over and over. it's really better just to use the open locks roll from another system.(my opinion)

    • @robharris6616

Use the Oracle to ask questions about the condition of the door. Like is the door locked? I would say that since this is an abandoned warehouse it's likely to be locked.

I know LOL I have since corrected that but truth be known I have moved on to other game oracles that I enjoy more than Mythic it's a very cool system I am not underplaying the credit it deserves it just does not peak my gaming taste like other oracles do. Game on my friend

This book is an abomination, one of the worst structured books I've had the misfortune to open. Which is a shame, considering how easy and useful it is once you get the hang of it.
