This one is poster board. The same as what would be used for a school project. It needs to be coated with a thin layer of paint mixed with solvent to prevent the paint from sinking in. Lately I’ve been using a wooden palette from new wave attached with clamps
This linen with oil ground preparation on top is perfect in my opinion. This a heavy linen. For something less coarse it would just be a lighter version of the same material

This canvas is very coarse. Can you please suggest a finer grade linen for oil paint, maybe linen board?
