Hello my friend. Thank you very much for this very interesting video. I spent a real fortune buying all kinds of seed-based snacks for my guinea pigs and they never really liked it 😅. I later learned that all these products are made by manufacturers who do not really know the needs of guinea pigs. In these cereal bars and other seeds, there are always lots of additives like sugar, fat, which is not good for them... On the other hand, they do not really like it because they are herbivores above all, seeds are not part of their dietary needs. Have you tried pea flakes? I can relate, I've spent so much money buying a variety of food for my pets just for them to ignore it😂 Unfortunately, there are a lot of manufacturers making foods for small animals (even fish!) who don't understand the small animals too well. The Pets Domain website does not mention sugar or any other harmful ingredients (that I know of) in these snacks, but I'll definitely keep an eye out in case that changes! Guinea pigs and rabbits need Hay as their primary diet. Very important. 80% hay. 20% mixed veggies and pellets. They have delicate stomachs. Give them unlimited hay to munch on everyday and the occasional treat. That food they sell with seeds is awful. Not healthy at all. They are herbivores. For crunch give them a small amount of healthy pellets like Oxbow for example. Lots of veggies and hay daily. They will be happy and healthy.
They absolutely love Oxbow, have veggies every night, and have all the hay they need, this isn’t something I’d feed them regularly it was just an occasional treat!❤️🐹
