Great review. I have a VDV kit coming in from Europe. My main issue with the Yugoslavian kit is that plastic top like you said, should have been metal.
@@user-yc3bn7jo3f Seriously? Do you mean original issue variant or a civilian aftermarket version? Never seen that anywhere. There are similar kits to the VDV made from Titanium, made in China, including a lid, some with some without the canteen.
Nice review. I have both of those kits and like them. I agree that the Yugo kit would be better with a metal cup especially if it could be used as a lid while cooking like the VDV kit. Hey I have not seen that cutlery kit you mated with the VDV kit. Do you have any other information about it?
One thing you missed with the Yugoslavian kit. The pouch can be used in the field as a water filter, like the British Milbank bag.

There is a all metal (aluminum) version. Only polymer part on it is bottle lid.

Yep, and I add he Swedish kit as the best three.
These are neat but I'm still partial to my US mess kit supplemented with the canteen cup, stove and canteen.
Got one of these a while back, good bit of kit.
Un grand merci

I bought the cutlery kit at the German PX in Kabul Afghanistan.
I saw people buy another set and then use the metal from the other one to make the lid, it is easily done.
