Excellent video, Paul, thanks a million for all your hard work. Puts it all into layman's language and leaves it easier to understand. I actually had a faulty switch on a new freestanding gas cooker and as you described it continuously clicked.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. This one took a while to make as I had to work out how to cut the valve apart, show the thermocouple working according to the Seebeck affect
Wow, thanks! I'm always getting humbled by some of the comments that you TH-camrs leave. Hello Paul, Thank you for creating this video. I passed my ACS last year and am now working as a gas engineer. This is the best video about gas hobs I have watched in the last two years. The way you illustrate the appliance and controls, explain the purpose and functionality of the controls, and demonstrate how to fix issues is exceptional. The organization of the different parts of this video is also excellent. Thank you very much!

Certainly an interesting video. Much appreciated Paul. From everything you said, I suspect my Neff spark generator has packed up. It gradually got slower clicking until it stopped all together. It’s a five burner hob and none of the burner controls fire up the spark generator. Knowing the mains electricity supply is good leaves just the generator to test. Thanks for producing such an informative and well presented production. dB.
Hi David from your description this definitely sounds like the spark generator has failed. Just make sure you test the input voltage going to it and also make this show. The switches are working to activate the spark generator. If these are all okay then it is definitely the generator that has failed. Hello, great video. Yesterday, my Bosh stovetop was working well. This morning, no clicking at any of the burners. I do have power to the stove. I am guessing that the "spark generator" is the culprit. Am I correct? Thanks.

Hi all, need your thoughts. I have a new never used 20 yr old Kenmore gas cook top. The ignitors will not spark unless the knob is turned past the "high" setting. The gas has to travel thru a 3 inch venturi tube. That is a lot of raw gas spewing out before ignition. Is this cook top safe to install in a family home with kids? Please share your thoughts. Txs
Hi Paul, Great video. I have a burner that does not click or ignite when I switch it on although gas is clearly released. I took off the plate and cleaned around everywhere I could but it still doesn't click or ignite although it clicks and ignites when I switch on one of the other burners! Any ideas or advice of what could be the problem. Thanks in advance. Brendan
Hi there, my kitchen aid countertop doesn’t light up immediately. It has delay. I must try a few times and give some time then when I try again it works fine. All of them the same. Can you pls help. Thanks
Great video. My hob is clicking on three burners, but not the commonly used small one. The gas is flowing to it as normal, but there’s no spark or clicking. What is likely to be the problem please?
Hi, please use our contact us page and make sure you fill out the request for what your problem is. I will need the full model number of the identification plate and the details of your problem so that I can provide you with useful literature. A video shoot of the problem would be perfect as well. I will get back to you within 24 hours, normally. www.how-to-repair.com/help/contact-us/ Please remember to subscribe to our channel, as that's what keeps this channel going. Thanks, Paul 👍
When I turn the knob on my left front burner, there is no clicking, no ignition to the burner, the gas is flowing. When I turn any of the other knobs, they trigger the igniter and I get spark in whichever knob it is, AND in the left front. So, the left front won't ignite itself, but it will ignite if I use another knob. My workaround is to turn on the gas (turn the knob) for the left front and then turn another knob. Or use a match/fire stick). Any idea why the current only gets to the left burner when another knob is turned? Do you have any idea what I need to do to fix it? Thanks!
If you have a low flame there is no real adjustment you can do apart from changing the jet to a larger size but first you need to make sure that the gas supply going to the cooker is correct sometimes regulators can cause problems if you are on bottle gas

funny enough i have a stranger fault, all my burnerrs light up IF I use 3 out of the 4 knobs. 1 knob does not ignite the corresponding burner nor any other, while the 3 other knobs ignite all 4 burners. My bet is whoever installed it did it wrong, or by default all 4 knob should ignite all 4 burner?

I have one burner not working, no gas coming through, any suggestions please?
Unscrew the jet and soak/clean in hot soapy water to open the small hole for gas. I just did the same.
Can anyone help me?
Suddenly no ignition or clicking sound from all burners on my wolf gaz top. Power outlet is ok

Hi paul, i have a hob thats constantly clicking, whats the fix for this?
It will be the switches on the individual burners
Perfect but i still don't know gow to adjust the low flame on my mabe stove. And yes i did the cleaning but no difference.

Check the power supply going to the spark generator if you have a supply then the spark generator needs to be replaced
