Looks solid, is a shame that there is no bike frame under the bike to mount it to like you get on dirtbikes, but I guess that is how things are these days with adv bikes
Yeah mate even the T7 doesn't have a proper frame around the engine, the tubing they have added there looks more like an afterthought than anything. But at least it's something to mount a bashplate to that isn't engine 🤙 Cheers

FWIW, the Black Dog Cycle Works plate is a frame mounted solution for the 390. Built like a tank! I almost feel bad for the shit I hit that thing with, it is a punisher 💪🏻
I'd be interested to see how they mounted that thing. We looked into getting one ages ago but the cost of shipping it to Aus was prohibitive at the time 😬
IIRC they require the crash bars that come on the American 390s to mount?
@@MVDBR Happy to take some pics of it if you’d like. It’s a pretty clever mounting scheme. It was a pain to install but for service it goes off / on with just a few bolts.

Thanks for posting great videos, I'll always watch. Our daughter is 20 and I am 51 and maybe from mid-March we will have the opportunity to buy two bikes for ourselves. We love the offroad sport, but so far we have only been able to maintain one Chinese Generic engine, which is a supermoto. We converted this a bit for offroad purposes, but unfortunately the engine block couldn't stand it. I will also be assigned a T700 Tenere, but our daughter doesn't know what to buy. Is the spring path of the KTM 390 not a bit off-road? Could the Honda CRF300Rally be a better choice? You know that give me advice? Thank you in advance for your kind reply. Haha thank you, your English is also amusing 😁 I think the 300 Rally would be a very good choice, the KTM does have more electronics like traction control but the 300 is certainly more dirt-worthy out of the box. 390 in standard form would be better for more road and easy dirt riding, so depends what she'll be doing with it 👍

What happened to the AXP bash plate?
It wasn't really up to the task, under motochick's abuse it kept melting onto the exhaust header and also it wasn't stable enough to be able to jack the bike off the ground to wash it etc...
I like some of B&B's stuff,even though freight is a fortune, but on a bike,already with limited ground clearance, that's taking up another 50-odd-mm. Whole downpipe need re-routing, under the clutch casing, then design a bashplate around that which mounts to the frame like Blackdog!
