The late, great Kenny Edwards on bass and singing harmony. He was a musician's musician adding much to the early music of Linda Rondstadt (Stone Poneys) and then becoming a key part of Karla's band. I have his solo CD, but Kenny was best with a team. Just a fantastic job for both Kenny and Karla.
Mm how do I put this nicely? Her version is ok...as a substitution for "GreatValue" version by Walmart ;) ...But stand this up to the real deal, and there is no comparison. Karla is the clear song writer and winner of the song.
I would like to put a guitar solo after the bridge and re-record it! Even better: have Aaron Neville sing the second verse. Then, he and KB can sing the chorus!

I always appreciated Karla Bonoff's version more. Ronstadt and Neville do a great job, but the soul is in this version.

It is just so special when she's at the piano. She looks so comfortable, and it all comes out
I really like this song and didn't know that Karla wrote it. When she sing it there a clarity
