One of the best movies of all time and so underrated for an 80s film.
But at the same time, I am very glad it is cult, so I can introduce it to people who will be amazed at something that was ahead of its time.

Only Hollywood could cast a Frenchman to play a Scot with a lousy Scottish accent and cast a Scot in the role of a Spaniard who made zero attempt to cover up his thick Scottish brogue! And I wouldn't have it any other way. ;)
Sean Connery had a Scottish accent when he played an Irishman in the untouchables and a Russsian in Red October. He's not Spanish he's Egyptian lol.
For all we know, the ancient Egyptians did talk with an accent like that. ;)
Well, you say "Hollywood", but it was partly a British-funded movie, and directed by an Australian.
and the frenchman didn't only have a lousy Scottish accent, actually he could barely speek english at all...but some say this was intentional, to show the fact, he lived in "a lot of different places" (I think thats just an cover up though...)...besides that bad accent, lambert actually needs to wear glasses, pretty thick ones, its a miracle no one got hurt during the fight-scenes, seriously...google it ;)

I had the opportunity to see it at the premiere in 1986, in a luxury cinema, it was one of the most fantastic experiences of my life, my favorite movie, which led me to collect figures, laserdiscs, DVDs, swords and everything related to it. wonder of 80s cinema...

JohnDoe89 Hi Leon the professional has already been restored 4k remastered blu ray. It's by Sony pictures, I've got it in my collection it's a grade A for picture and sound quality 👌 much better than the studio canal 4k mastered blu rays.

I'd like to see big WWE's Drew McIntyre/Galloway in the Highlander remake with Henry Cavill, as he's a big fan and said if a remake ever happens he would like to be a part of it, he's a big guy 6ft 5in and could easily be used at the start in Scotland or as a bad/good guy in New York? Either way it's a no brainer to me and would help with promoting it as WWE has a world wide audience and Drew has fans across the globe, as does Cavill. 👍

Such a shame Mel Gibson bowed to his ego and chose to have the lead role in Braveheart himself. Imagine Christopher Lambert as William Wallace. That pitch perfect Scottish accent, that intensity, that sheer manly brutishness coupled with a twinkling smile that says "I'm a big softy at heart"
