Dear Fijians, maybe someone of you can help me a clear up a „listening issue“ I‘ve got. Thanks for your help! I heard in these videos several times the word „mothe“ and presume it is Fijian and means something like „bye“ or „goodbye“. Yet I hear also the word „mathe“, and I wonder, has it the same (or similar) meaning in Fijian? I do remember, that Fijians told me, to say „mathe“, when I handed back the emptied Kava-bowl, and I thought, that this means, that I say somewhat like „empty“. Are these words the same, or only closely related, or even two words which sound somewhat same for me as a forgeiner, but are actually completely different. Thanks again, from a curious kava-fan ☺️
One is "MOCE" which means bye, the other is "MACA",during KAVA session they say this to you because you have fully finished your kava that was handed to you in a bilo.
