They only have tribal wars in the past, where adult men of different tribes fight each other over land boundary or other social issues including marriages that was not approved by majority of tribes' men and etc. I guess those tribal war back then not so different from the any other war, including the Ukraine- Russia war for example. The only exceptions is that the current Ukraine-Russia war uses weapon of mass destruction.

When living in the Solomons, my best mate Wilson was from the Reef Islands, within Santa Cruz, like Tikopea (ie same islan group). He is a mix of Polynesian and Melanesia - Tikopeans also but slightly more Polynesian than Melanesian. Renell not far away is all Polynesian

@@1cccseed good point however our context here in Solomon Islands is very different to Hawaii.. firstly 80% or more of the land is customary owned by tribes which would be a huge barrier to losing our land and culture.. correct me if im wrong but Hawaii would have less land compared to Solomon Islands with hundreds of geographicaly spread Islands.

@@SeaGypsieschannel We were there in 2017 (sv-fluenta.blogspot.com/2017/07/to-tikopia-in-photos.html) after hanging out too briefly with you guys in Majuro and spent quite awhile visiting the chief near the "anchorage" but did not see a TV. Worked on some of their solar systems and Liz fixed a sewing machine. I tried to fix one of their ancient corroded invertors to no avail. We are house sitting for bit in Canada (living in a house with furniture, a big TV and internet !) so we watched some of your videos on TH-cam. Enjoyed the NW Passage bit from the Weather Channel but certainly none of the character of the film you guys did of the Antarctica run. Looking forward to a Sea Gypsies NW Passage movie ! We had the Argentinian fellow Pablo whose boat was crushed the same year year as your passage over for dinner when we were in northern BC a few months ago. Quite a year to pick to go through ! Had a quick look for Infinity Expedition's webpage and it does not seem to be there anymore. Hope all is well is crew and vessel. Cheers, Max

i had the pleasure of visiting tikopia in 1983 and it still looks exactly the same, greed is progress, happiness is Tikopia its the only place iv been where the whole village comes down to the beach for a communal poo, now that is jus living ,,,beautiful

Well, they don't have any wild pigs, they can't have them rooting in their gardens, all the pigs I saw were tied up and ate scraps. Pigs are super efficient at turning trash into delicious bacon.
You have a lot of mosquitos in Norway on the tundra, stay in Kirkness and look for a proper education or job or try to get the Nobelprice for travelling on a sailboat!!! 😉
Tikopia is inhabited by polynesian. Tikopians have been resettled by the British goverment at Nukukaisi on Makira. They also have a settlement in the Russells.
