Another important lesson to be learned from the Frozen Charlotte tale is never go out with a man that won't lend you his jacket in the cold. A man that considers his comfort over yours isn't worth his salt no matter how wealthy he may be.
Thank you for your comments everyone and for complimenting my son Angelo on his cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at the end. If you would like to hear him singing it with way better acoustics than my sitting room (!) then here is the professional video with his band: th-cam.com/video/w4CmTcfyh_o/w-d-xo.html
Don’t you just love foggy morning walks along the water? One of my favorite memories is from a family vacation to Maine, when we went to a state park beach on a day with extremely thick fog. Walking on the rocky shore, only able to see about ten feet in front of me, hearing the fog horn from the lighthouse, seeing the blurry dark lumps that were seals on a sandbar just offshore and hearing them bark-it was one of the most evocative moments of my life.
The Moonlight here has been bathing the night brightly here in Southern California the past few Nights....so much so that I have metal detected an abandoned property with a home built in the 1920's on it. I have unearthed 148 coins, 2 marbles and a 14k Gold pin with the letters CB upon it. Happy New Year with wishes to all in the U.K. looking for luck in the muck!!!

Thank you, Nicola for braving that foggy, and I'm quite sure, bracing morning on Old Father Thames 😊. I loved your breakfast moment with your swan friend. Please don't fret over producing content for videos, Nicola 👍🏻. We in your TH-cam family love just seeing that your doing well health and safety-wise. Each time you upload a vid makes me happy. I don't know exactly how to formulate it but it feeds so well my appetite for travelling a foreign country made of dreams and populated by many tiny pieces of imagination. You're so british at heart ! That's a real pleasure to follow your journey along this iconic river and I thank you for being so sensitive and passionate about such insignifiant leftovers ; thank you for seing things not so many people these days are still able to see and feel. I wish you a great year of findings ! (Hope my diatribe makes sense... you know... I'm French... ;o))
My Dear, Beautiful Theams mud larking host... Another amazing show. Great of you to get out during the Holidays and present us with this special gift of your treasures found on the foreshore. It seems that they never end. By the way, our friend Si is correct... You are like a clay-pipe magnet. But I have one better."Clay-Pipe Queen"! Without question, that is you. You always bring pleasure to my boreing days. Thank you to your son for his lovely gift is song. And Holiday Blessings to you and your family.
Nicola, thanks so very much for a wonderful year of adventure and history. It feels as though my life would missing so much if not for you and the stories you share with us. You must be so proud of your son, you have ever right to be, for he is very good. I am looking forward to another great year of adventures in London. God bless you and stay safe my friend. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I started singing The Boar Head's Carol--written by Henry the Vlll, thought it was most appropriate on the tusk discovery. Please have a wonderful New Year, you and your family have been a bright spot on the last year, and new shining hope for 2021--an art video from your studio would be fantastic. Love from Canada x
Relaxing, informative, scenic, and a beautiful Hallelujah to top it all off!❤ And we appreciate you Nicola for all you do for your viewer's like me! I just retired last week and am excited for 2021 mudlarking finds for you every Sunday! Happy healthy and prosperous New Year!🥰🎊🎉

Chilling and fascinating history behind them! Thanks for sharing that! Your son is super talented just like you! Happy New Year and happy larking! ~ Gypsy
Love Angelo’s voice! So beautiful. You were also great on stage with Jon Bon Jovi’s band. A talented family. Thanks for making 2020 so much more bearable with your lovely videos. I find them so relaxing and mindful to watch as well as finding them fascinating 😀
Oh Nicola, what a resplendent rendition of Hallelujah ! many a young Charlotte would love to find their Angelo next to the Christmas tree. Angelo obviously has inherited the music from you, you always accompany your videos with amazing tracks. May the New Year bless you and us your humble viewers with many a mucky find. Stay safe & well. Thank you Angelo. 🌟
Nicola, Happy New Year to you and your family and Mudlarking friends. That Crow looks small, could it be a Fish Crow? Those look like Black Headed Gulls. I love birding with you, Nicola, you present the wildlife so beautifully. Some species are international and I've seen them on the East and West Coasts of America, others ,which you have shown, are the ones that make me grab my European guides, lots of fun. I think the world's most ubiquitous duck has to be the Mallard:) When you found that toothpaste jar I had the same thought, everything was presented so elegantly then rather than the mundane squeeze tubes of today. And then I thought perhaps only the well to do and middle classes bought jar toothpaste, all others found "creative ways toward Dental Hygiene, if they had any at all:) What a treat to have your son, with his beautiful voice, entertain us for the New Year!! Cheers, Rik Spector
I am a great lover of Leonard Cohen's music, which I first heard around 1969, as a 14 year old. Angelo does him proud, a beautiful version. Please thank him him for playing for us.
Hello, I absolutely adore Angelo’s rendition of “Hallelujah”. Thank you for bringing us joy over the years and a happy New Year Nicola - with lots of hugs!
Now I'm wondering if the RAOB gentlemen cultivated big handlebar moustaches like the buffalo horns. Love the mix of upbeat and contemplative in your work, Nic.

I would like to say thankyou so much for your last video, in it was a piece of Pottery with honey on, well this is my story of that scene I saw with you. One night over Christmas I saw a picture on my fb, n it brought bad memories for me,(from childhood), a nightmare came when I went to sleep woke up not feeling good, I prayed that it would go out of my mind. I got to sleep again I dreamt of your honey house, it was like a story beening played in my head, my family was the owners of this factory I don't recall what we made there I just remember sitting on the steps watching people in London walk by, anyway due to you n si my unhappy memories are not happy because of u 2. God works in us even when we don't know it, because of that video he made it a sweet memory for me. So thankyou n si for the help you give us with your video,s . Happy new year, let's get some more great finds for 2021. Jules
Hi Jules, Thank you for your comment and Im so pleased that the small fragment with honey on it made its way into your dreams and you had a good sleep. Sending you love and many wishes for a very happy new year. Nicola xx

A Very Fine rendition Angelo, on your Mom's Ovation! What a Lovely New Years Tideline Vid! Everything from Swans to Angelo! Treasures in between filled with history. Your videos and Family are Greatly Appreciated! I wish all of you Love, Abundance, Joy of Spirit and All your Wishes! And Angelo, as a musician/guitar player and hearing many many versions of this song, you are definitely one of my favorites, top five I'd say! It is a great song and over done a bit perhaps. So when it's done it must be done well and to you I say Bravo! All of you make the world better with your art and caring! So from Pennsylvania, this is DaveyJO and Many Blessings for 2021! 2020 gave us vision and now in this new year we can see the Light within and in all things.

Thanks for going out on such a cold day to explore for us! Just so you know, your channel, with your finds, flora and fauna, and history of the treasures, has made a dark year so much easier to bear. You and all my other mudlarking friends always give me an adventure to look forward to and kept loneliness at bay. Thanks so much for that and I wish you a very happy, safe, healthy and fun New Year!
Really enjoyed your son singing Hallelujah! Thank you so much for all your wonderful and interesting videos. Cheers Nicola, from West Coast of British Columbia 🇨🇦
WOW! Angelo sounded beautiful and he does have a versatile voice. We don't need fancy sound system (though we love that too) because we feel like Angelo is part of our family here and very much enjoy what he graciously puts together for us. Thank you Angelo and Nicola. Please don't forget we watch your video's for several reasons, including the wildlife that have made the Thames their home. Personally, the swans are my favorite, but I also enjoy your "conversations" and interaction with them. I've heard stories of crows bringing "gifts" to special people they meet, so I'm wondering when we'll see the crows bring some treasures to you. Happy new year to everyone!!
Its joyous and a real blessing to see and hear your son sing and play for us. Both of my sons sing and play insrtuments. My youngest is just finishing college as a music major. I know what joy and pride youre feeling :) Being an empty nester recently it really got me! Thank you for sharing that.

Perhaps it's a bit late, for comment on this video. I love, love, App-p-p-solutely Love! the footage and song at the end of this video. You did such an amazing job of following the flock of birds, starlings?, as they go back and forth, along the river. A 'murmuration', it is called, you inspired me to do the research to find that out. I only recently found your channel. It is my new addiction. So beautiful and soothing, in these troubled times. Then we go back to the place Nicola calls her studio which in fact is a treasure chest of thousands of artifacts pieces of gorgeous Nicola made art .So please please Nicola don't say
"I hope you enjoy" its not needed, of course we will enjoy love and cherish its very 2021 and not antediluvian at all .Happy New year Nicola dear may this coming year be a muddy continuation of all that you and we love stay safe stay warm and stay you XXX

You Are A Star. Saved Our Christmas. Legend !!!!!
XXXX
Each time you upload a vid makes me happy. I don't know exactly how to formulate it but it feeds so well my appetite for travelling a foreign country made of dreams and populated by many tiny pieces of imagination. You're so british at heart ! That's a real pleasure to follow your journey along this iconic river and I thank you for being so sensitive and passionate about such insignifiant leftovers ; thank you for seing things not so many people these days are still able to see and feel. I wish you a great year of findings ! (Hope my diatribe makes sense... you know... I'm French... ;o))
Thank you David! J'aime beaucoup ce que vous avez ecrit. x
Thank you, Nicola and Angelo! Beautiful video!
Thank you Nancy!
Thank you 💖
What a great day out Nicola and so many good finds as always. Got to love those Pipe Bowls and the History that goes with them.
Loved this enjoyed your lovely son singing🎤 🎶👏 ❤️❤️❤️
I started singing The Boar Head's Carol--written by Henry the Vlll, thought it was most appropriate on the tusk discovery. Please have a wonderful New Year, you and your family have been a bright spot on the last year, and new shining hope for 2021--an art video from your studio would be fantastic. Love from Canada x
Me too Michelle! 🐗🐽
Relaxing, informative, scenic, and a beautiful Hallelujah to top it all off!❤
And we appreciate you Nicola for all you do for your viewer's like me! I just retired last week and am excited for 2021 mudlarking finds for you every Sunday!
Happy healthy and prosperous New Year!🥰🎊🎉
I own one of your beautiful china/ship cards. It's framed and looks lovely in my guest room. I can's wait to collect one of your fish to match! I love to follow your work... carry on! Love from Indy.
Thank you Indy! so happy that you like it xx
Well sung Angelo, tears in the eyes while watching the murmuration of starlings over the Thames. Thank you again for a lovely end to the story.
Best wishes Nicola for 2021. Best of luck with your finds for this year!
Thank you Adam! And you too xx
Yet another incredible video! I love the little Charlotte dolls. I find ceramic little dolls similar to those when dump digging and metal detecting from time to time.
Thank you Laura! X
Have you and your son every posted a duet? I would love to see that! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and yours!
We have! But time for another
Nicola,
Happy New Year to you and your family and Mudlarking friends.
I think the world's most ubiquitous duck has to be the Mallard:)
When you found that toothpaste jar I had the same thought, everything was presented so elegantly then rather than the mundane squeeze tubes of today.
And then I thought perhaps only the well to do and middle classes bought jar toothpaste, all others found "creative ways toward Dental Hygiene, if they had any at all:)
What a treat to have your son, with his beautiful voice, entertain us for the New Year!!
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Thank you Rik. So glad you enjoy the videos and the birds! Im not sure what species of crow they are - I think they are mudlark crows :) x
@@nicolawhitemudlark A new species of crow,
Corvus Nicolas Mudlarkis!!!:)
James liked all your finds but especially the stretchy Spider-Man because he has one of them 😂
Thank you for sharing your adventure with us xx
ha ha thank you Emma and James. Yes, he now has a home in my studio! xx
Thank you Dana! xx
❤❤❤ love the song...first time i heard it was listening to Celtic Thunder.... dropped to my knees and cried uncontrollably...still tears me up😊😊
Now I'm wondering if the RAOB gentlemen cultivated big handlebar moustaches like the buffalo horns. Love the mix of upbeat and contemplative in your work, Nic.
Thank you Kristine!
Angelo has such a lovely voice. Tell him thank you for blessing us with his song❤️
Thank you Angelo 2020 really went out with a bang!
It would be nice on special occasions to see more of Angelo and you too Nicola ,we know you can sing so a Duo would be perfect.
ah thanks very much Ralph. Ok, I'll work on that idea and see what Angelo suggests x
Nicola xx
'Savouring the not knowing-ness' is my new favourite saying. I'm back to school tomorrow and it will be my response everytime I'm asked how I am... 😊 Happy new year Nic!
Ha ha Thanks Beth. I hope it goes well back at school tomorrow and all the not knowingness xx
I sat an exam in that state! LOL
Amazing how you could feel what that pipe bowl was!! You are amazing Nicola! 💕from USA👍
Thank you! xx
Nicola,
Per usual I so enjoyed your video. Your son’s song was a splendid addition. He has a wonderful voice and a gorgeous smile. I so appreciate your art and videos. They bring me joy in these troubling times.
Thank you Lynn and I wish you a happy New Year too and I hope that this year is easier. Lots of love, Nicola xx
Love the way you can ID a pipe by feel...awesome!
ha ha yes, you know your finding a lot of pipes when you can read the design by touch!! x
Love the hat! And the treasures!
Really enjoyed your son singing Hallelujah! Thank you so much for all your wonderful and interesting videos.
Cheers Nicola, from West Coast of British Columbia 🇨🇦
All the best wishes and finds for 2021 💕😁
Thank you! x
Thank you very much Derek and family! x
Hi Nicola from Kentucky so excited for the new year and your “finds”😊
Thank you Lisa x
Its joyous and a real blessing to see and hear your son sing and play for us. Both of my sons sing and play insrtuments. My youngest is just finishing college as a music major. I know what joy and pride youre feeling :) Being an empty nester recently it really got me! Thank you for sharing that.
Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your channel has always been one of my favorite. The nature you add to your videos is amazing. Your children are very special. You are very blessed. Happy New Year! 🎉
Thank you very much Ellna! Happy New Year to you.
Thank you!
Barb, from Utah USA.
Thank you Barb xx

Beautiful voice and fabulous song . The flocks of birds seem to sway to the music, absolutely lovely. Blessings to you for many more successful treasure hunting expeditions. 🙏🏼🎆🎉
The "Victoria" piece seems to refer to Victoria Station
