Shang Chi looks like a lot of fun. Hard to not feel like Iron Fist got the short end of the stick as far as martial artists go though. Just goes to show that, as a general rule, it's better to have a favorite character be a late release rather than an early one.
Idk Iron Fist is still a very solid 3, I wouldn’t of minded if he could also count blanks against mystic as well, but the range 3 martial artist he got at the time was huge on its own.
@TheGamersGuild I'm not saying he's bad...he's just clearly not as strong a piece as Shang Chi for his threat level. Shang Chi has tech that they wouldn't do (and didnt) earlier in the games development.
As a Defenders and Spider Foes guy, I have been eating GOOD lately.

I like the street level heroes, so the Shang-Chi / Silver Sable box is definitely on my radar. I am more excited for Namor than I thought I'd be.

Great review. The bowling comment had me 🤣 a little too much tbh. This is my first time seeing SC's injured side. I think he will be pretty wild in a aggro/control blend avengers roster like the one I have.

Is there juice with adding defensive dice to Iron Fist and Shang-Chi to really buff that range 3 martial artist?
Absolutely! Count blanks plus more dice is the tankiest mechanic combo you can have.
I main Dormammu and Namor looks like a great way to force opposing rosters into attrition with the asset control.
love these these modals so much cant wait to play Namor and Shang Chi under DD Defenders, glad Defenders is getting some major support now
I might have to try both of them out in my Midnight Sons list. Was already playing around with Angela in it, but Namor may take that spot.
Namor has a really nice home in DD Defenders. Can't wait to try him out!
Feels weird that he's better on DD Defenders when he was a member of Strange's Defenders in the comics
These look amazing. I'm always trying to force models into my 10th slot for MS but I don't think either fit especially. They are both very good models. Namor feels like he's going to be another Rhino/BRB staple splashes. That dude is stacked. Shang-Chi looks like a ton of fun though. Makes me want to get a Defenders team together.
During the painting stream, I think they said Namor was also a defender.

Namor is interesting, I don't think I would ever run the time gem on him. I think if you want the turn 1 attack run him somewhere that gives him that otherwise just use him as an objective piece turn one and slap turn 2+.
Shang-chi is very interesting. I think on the right match ups he is going to be crazy. I think playing him under Steve 3 may also be a good home for him.
Maybe she g chi will work well with og cap?
I have a rules question, can bodyguard be used on an area attack? considering area attack does not target a specific character, can a bodyguard card or power be used? the specific situation was daredevil using area attach and thanos using sacrifice to protect another teammate in an effort to absorb both orlf the area attacks. anyone who has clarity of this would be appreciated 👏
Yes you absolutely can bodyguard an area/beam attack. Although the timing is a bit different beam and area attacks still go through the normal attack steps.
@@TheGamersGuild so if I were to chose to attack corvis before thanos with area attack, thanos could not use it correct?

Definitely both top tier 4 & 5 threats. Curious if Namor will end up like Blk Bolt where initial card reveals (from BB's update) had people grumbling OP, but after a couple months of play, hype settled down & he isnt splashed too much these days due to his cost & lack of action efficiency.
Namor looks pretty phenomenal, for sure, but I wonder how his weaknesses (Only Rng 2 physical attacks, no throws) will shake out after the initial rush to put him in every list. Definitely cant wait to put him on the table.
I'm not generally interesting in Namor as a character. But the AMG team did a good job representing him in the game and I'd love to try him on the table.
I agree Shang Chi will do great in Defenders. But what about shooting High with Namor Asgardians?

My fav Marvel character Namor is a Boss. He has everything I could want, except maybe a throw which would have been very thematic for him.
Shang Chi looks pretty awesome, too. But how does his 1-inch punch have anything greater than a 1 rng? Thematic miss AMG.

Namor seems really bonkers. I think Shang chi like any scary model has legs in winter guard. A free shake cannot be overstated. Conversely strucker letting him give the gift of stagger out could be good.
Both look really solid, though Namor makes me feel the absence of any Fantastic Four figures. It does let you have more for an Illuminati "themed" team though.

I can dig that. GotG don’t have any mystic brawlers so I like that addition.
Shang chi brings a lot to daredevil’s defenders as a mystic brawler. Though it does feel a bit like he’s just a better iron fist.
Namor looks crazy good. My buddy is looking at a DC counts as list, so I’m hoping he pairs well in inhumans.
