With only kick drums playing during that section, you'd realistically be able to hear a very faint bass guitar there in the Justice mix. It's there, it's just practically inaudible with all the other instruments.
@@jjtheenton Do you know of any parts in the actual justice album like that? Because I remember seeing somewhere that the bass wasn't really removed, just turned way down.
Listen very closely to the clean tone parts in One and also in To Live is To Die and you can hear the bass guitar (granted it’s a barely audible hum underneath everything but if you listen closely you’ll be able to make it out)

I’ve always thought that Leper Messiah was musically closer to And Justice for All than it was to what was around it at the time or what came before it. You could definitely see the trajectory of Metallica moving forward to AJFA with this song. By the way, great video 🤘🏻
It's crazy to me how you're even able to change the vocals to make them sound more like the album you're redoing the song as (AJFA in this case). Awesome job, great work.

@@TheNerdyGinger Those bass parts in between wouldn't be there. Maybe they could have been there but turned way down as it is on Justice. But I see what Cal was doing. I would love to hear this guitar track alongside the original, they sound like they would compliment eachother and harmonize pretty well in alot of place
This on the justice album would actually make a lot of scence. Just replace the religous purpose and replace it with corrupt polititions. The start of the song being the start of the revolution, the bridge being a turning point, and the ending being the uprising.
So...i feel the song you made here didnt stick true enough to the original source material. That being said, it Nails the AJFA sound and feel. Having to construct James MOP voice into an AJFA voice had to have been difficult but you made it work well enough. The main chorus felt real out of place, the guitar riffs you used when hes chanting, "LIES" should have 100% been used on the main chorus at a slower pace. The last 3 minutes of this song feels 100% authentic though. The way you put the solos in and was able to speed it up as 'Leper Messiah' goes and still give it a real AJFA tone was just epic man. All in all shes a solid 7.5 and thats only because of (in my personal opinion) the lackluster beginning and the chorus feeling out of place. I know Metallica have purposely done certain sequences off beat but it just didnt work here. I will still fully headbang to this though!
Ive listened several times now, in my truck and on my home stereo. I need to give more praise, you nail James voice.
