    A few opinions I got from general surgeons was its better if it's taken care of when it is small. Your discussion here dispels this thinking.

    I'm 75 and live in the UK, with - i think - a combined direct and indirect Inguinal hernia - sometimes it's a big bulge in my right thigh and sometimes in fills my scrotum up. I've waited 7 months for sugary so far and almost housebound now. When I do get the surgery, it's open with mesh with a spinal anaesthetic.

    This information is GOLD for someone with an upcoming appointment for surgery. If you want notes on how to prepare for your Dr. consultation, listen from video mark 57:30. Thank you so much!

    Can you do another episode on women and specifically occult hernias? I can’t find any info that’s helpful other than your article in a hernia book about it. I wish there was more info about marcy repair on occult hernias in women

    I have a ventral/umbilical hernia and am a healthy active 70 year old. I have seen a surgeon, Dr. Steven Nishida, who said that I could take a wait see. Two years later it is now larger probably because I work out at the gym. Further, recently I had a worrisome episode where I had some pain and hardening of the hernia. I massaged it and it went away. I live in Hawaii but would travel to the continental US to repair my hernia. What hernia center should I consider.

      All the surgeons I have interviewed are excellent options for you. If you’d like to contact my office, see the show notes. Oahu also has excellent surgeons.
      Also, the gym should not make your hernia worse. It’s normal for hernias to increase in size with time.

    I am from Canada, and I have ventral umbilical hernia after colon cancer surgery. Once it was fixed without mesh at my request last year, but recurred in a couple of months. A couple of months ago it was 2-3 cm, but now there is a small bulge with gurgling sounds. I am against mesh. I just wonder if you would agree to operate me without mesh.

      in rare situations, we offer non-mesh repair for incisional hernias in those who are candidates for abdominoplasty.

    Inguinal small hernia on left lower side of the abdomen, why is my left testicol snuggle up and sciatica nerve start warning all the way down to my left leg?

    • @herniadoc
      @herniadoc  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      hernias do not interact with the sciatic nerve.

    Is there an increased risk of having an intestine push into an inguinal hernia when getting a colonoscopy?

      I need an inguinal and umbilical hernia repaired under iv sedation and local anesthesia. I am not in favor of going under deep anesthesia. Can my requests be entertained?

      Trust your surgeons and their recommendations. Mesh will help if it’s a stoma hernia issue.
