Who was eliminated from playoff contention today?
Sadly bama 😭
Feel like an SEC team can get in with 3 losses
byu and army
@@tip358no
Bama ole miss and a&m
Bama should not even be considered for a playoff spot losses to Vandy & OU but the committee will keep them im striking distance as usual
1000%
First time in 182 games that Alabama has not scored at least 10 points and Oklahoma beat them while having
5 WR starters out and a 6th out before halftime...
4 OL starters out
2 DB starters out
1 RB starter out
AND starting a 3 star freshman RB. They basically beat them like an FCS team while starting highschoolers on offense and not having a pass game... they're not coming close to the playoffs this year.
@@zophix-5741 To be fair, the penalty called on an Alabama TD that was wiped out by it, was a bad call.
Would it have mattered? No.
The committee is a joke right now if they let the Tide in.
yeah but strength of schedule is off the charts. OU not that great in 2024 but an all time great program.
@@donaldjones9830 I completely agree and I'll even go further and say that TD could've provided momentum for a tide 4th quarter rally, but after seeing how dominate the OU defense was, it was never going to happen for Alabama.
Oregon(bye week) wakes up from a nap: *looks around* “what the hell happened!?…O-OH GOD! Someone call an ambulance!”
“I leave for *one week* …”
We curse the season everytime we take a bye week. No wonder we went without one for eight straight weeks

Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee fans are up tonight
3 loss South Carolina making it would be crazy
@@iornlazer04no 3 loss team is making it. Zero.
Alabama still beat Georgia and South Carolina
Marshal fans are up
A 3 loss SEC team could make it. Especially since Texas A&M BYU and of course ole miss and Bama lost. One of them will likely make it, probably either Bama or South Carolina. Ole miss did beat SC but currently SC looks better than Ole Miss.
ESPN keeps trying to justify why a 3 loss team should be in the playoffs this is pure bias at its finest! They should just pick teams by brand not wins then. Love your content bro
appreciate you boss! 💯
Sports are woke garbage.
You mean ESECPN.
No 3 loss teams in cfp period
They have a huge financial relationship with the SEC so they're always trying to get Alabama and as many SEC teams in!
Hot take: SMU should be the ACC favorite with the potential bye. Not Miami
Clemson would be favored against both I think...
I think so as well. SMU better be in the top 12 come Tuesday. I'm not even a SMU fan. Vols fan here. But I look for SMU for win the conference.
ACC is underrated and apparently has the worst TV deal
100%
Per the Sagarin Ratings which from what I’ve seen is one of the major factors used by Vegas to make lines if not THE main factor, Clemson-SMU would be a pick’em at a neutral site and Miami would be favored over Clemson by 1.5. However it has not been updated for the results of this weeks games yet so that could change slightly
Alabama has 3 confrence losses ( Vandy, Tennessee, Oklahoma ) not 2
Jayhawks out there ruining lives.
Jayhawks out here handing ASU an easy path to the conference championship 😂
@@gregjross852tied for the best record in the conference and we're being handed an easy path? Lol
And ASU beat Kansas.
Bama should be out period. That loss was an embarrassment on every level. They don’t deserve a playoff spot. Bama isn’t a playoff team this year.
Bama lost?!?!? MattBeGreat reaction is gonna be golden.
Oh he'll go insane. I'm a huge Bama fan but his bias and surface level content is unbearable
Dude, they got waxed 24 to 3......by oklahoma

Weekends like this is why you let what happens on the field decide who stays and who gets sent home. Sure there will be teams ranked 13-15 at the end of the season who think they belong in the playoffs, but the reality is that they are far less deserving than who ends up #5 in the old system
Teams like Alabama and Ole Miss shouldn't be near 15th.

Colorado playoffs hopes are not over but its very slim. we need to win our next game and have 2 of the top 3 teams in the big 12 lose their next game. that would put us in the big 12 chip and if we win that we in the playoffs
As an Oregon fan if Arizona State makes it in I’m here for it! Shoutout to Kenny Dillingham
Appreciate you!! 😤
T'would be fun to see him make the playoffs but I think he might have the same big game yipes that Mario Cristobal has. That piece of coaching at the end of last night's game was stupid and gave BYU their only chance of pulling out a comeback. Long, long time Duck fan here, too.
@@mic982 yeah true that but he’s also in his first year as head coach so he’s learning. Cristobal I’ll never root for lol but Kenny I’ll root for no doubt
The energy behind ASU is absolutely insane right now. I would love to see ASU make it into the playoffs and march their way to play against Oregon in the Championship, for some reason that scenario just makes me think major David vs Goliath of a season moment

The only way to shut Shadeur up is to beat the crap out of the Buffs. He is enabled by Dion who also can not stop talking shit. An awesome athlete, a college football program builder, but if he was as great a NFL player as he pretends to be, he would have 7 Super Bowl rings too. Football is a team sport, Dion’s team where ever he played was always me, myself, I, Prime and his reflection in the mirror running his mouth!

Oklahoma had 15 players out. Backup Oline that is actually horrid and top 5 .. or 6 receivers.
Great defense though. If they played that way they would have won more. Full offense may also be pretty scary next year as all injured players want to return according to brent.
Honestly, that big win is what Oklahoma needed
Just insane they dominated the way they did
I just wish that team had showed up 6-8 weeks ago! Defense has been doing a good job pretty consistently this season though! FINALLY!!
Finally got a great defense, now we need to put our offense back together.
It’s still crazy to see Deion do what he has done to this team’s culture. They’ll at least be in a bowl game and give some backups time to show what they can do. It’s been a crazy season for EVERYONE.
They are Dirty team and a bunch of overhyped crybabies getting helped from officiating and sports media. They are'nt as good as they are being made out to be. They get away with so many calls it's ridiculous.

Fun fact: the way I understand SEC tiebreakers (and I’m not expert so take this with a grain of salt), the winner of Texas A&M and Texas plays Georgia for the SEC title. So yeah, all A&M has to do is beat Texas then Georgia at Atlanta.
That’s not hard at all!

So strange the amount of loser energy that is generated by everybody when AU loses. Like, they lost, that's it. Grow up, man. Don't live up to the stereotype.
O-H!
@@luckyarmstrong6940: AU is Auburn. Do you mean UA, University of Alabama?
Kansas was absolutely not “just a 4-6 team” they’ve lost six games by a total of 30 points which is a small margin for six losses. Kansas has more depth than Colorado and has obviously proven that they can compete with anyone.
I will admit Kansas is much better than your average 4-win team but 6 losses is still 6 losses
Every week it blew up the season like bro.😊

I’m a Michigan fan but I haven’t missed a ASU home game all year dis my first year here too
The broncos have always struggled when they had to go on the road to Wyoming. It also seems to me that most of the schools in the MW have been practicing for their game against the broncos for weeks as each team slowly builds upon the last team to have played against Boise picking apart our offense the best they could. For that I fear for the MW title game and for a playoff birth as the blueprints are being made to beat us.
love the georgia stuff at the start, go dawgs!
Boise State is a good team the MW is very competitive compared to most g5 conferences

There's got to be a huge market for agents in college football now.
Just a heads up for someone wanting a fun career.
100s of thousands of players - and there's no way there's enough to give them all great service.
You are bound and determined to get a three or possibly 4 loss Alabama into the play off. Right now four Big Ten teams seemed to be poised to make the playoff In the SEC, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia look like play off teams. Add in Notre Dame Add in the ACC, Big 12 champs, and that makes ten teams. A Boise State and a runner up in either the ACC or Big 12 seem like likely choices to fill those last two spots No more of this Alabama or Mississippi talk. Three loss teams don't make the cut.
I'd like to see the ACC get two
@@bjc215I think they will cus no way the sec is gonna put more than 3 teams in
as a Big12 guy and an Iowa State season ticket holder I am forced to point out that the Big12 runner up will be a 3 loss team as well. The committee and ESPN do not care about who deserves to be in the playoff. They only care about the television product and the money. Alabama will be in because they bring the eyeballs to the screen.
Indiana did not look bad in the first half. I expect the rating to plummett after that loss but I think they deserve a berth
Special teams doomed them. It game Ohio State all the mo.
They’ll still get in, but mainly because of all the teams behind them losing, if Alabama and Ole Miss didn’t lose I’d expect the Hoosiers to be out, but they got bailed out big time
@@larrylane78228-9 game Indiana vs Notre Dame
I like how no one is talking about Nebraska at all.
Mebraska snapped a 9 game losing streak in the Wisconsin vs Nebraska game series and snapped an 8 year bowl drought
Sooner here. I would LOVE to see Nebraska be on top again! I miss those days in the Big 8/12! Except of course the 90s, that was painful! 🤣
Nebraska was always a love to hate rivalry for me because the Huskers always brought it!
Need to correct myself to an earlier comment. I assume ASU will the Big 12 and thus will be the only team in. The way they are playing right now with Skatabo being the best running back in the country, they could very well win a couple of games.
CFB has been wild this season, this week was jus the icing on the cake. Coming into the week there was a chance the Big 12 could get left out, the SEC could have had 5 teams in, the B1G possibly only getting 3 teams in, and no way for the ACC or Big 12 to get more than 1 team. Because of this weekend the Big 12 is basically guaranteed a spot, the ACC is likely to get 2 teams in, the B1G is likely to get 4 teams in, and the SEC is likely only going to get 3 in with a possibility of only 2 if Texas wins the SEC title.
Edit: Forgot to mention 3 losses was supposed to be the cut off, but because they've each only lost 2 conference games A&M and Colorado both still have a chance even with 3 losses because they're both still alive for their conference title games.
The Big 12 is hot ass this year
They're Alabama?
UGA has clinched a spot in the SEC game now. They have head to head over Tennessee. Even if TAMU beats Texas, UGA would have head to head over Texas, and UGA has the second tiebreaker over TAMU which is record vs. common opponents. UGA has somehow found their way into the SEC championship
The winner of Texas-Texas A&M will be in the SEC championship game with Georgia at this moment.
Colorado's best chance of getting into the Big 12 title game would be via a three-way tie with either Arizona State or BYU -- or both -- losing their final game. In the event of a four-way tie, Colorado would need two of the remaining three teams (Arizona State, BYU, Iowa State) to lose.
My Canadian elementary school's name is the Sun Devils because our gym teacher in the 80s was a massive ASU fan.
UGA is in the SEC championship and will play the winner of TX vs TX A&M game
Bama wasnt an upset.
They are in transition of staffs and its a testament to their strength that they hung around this long.
I dont think the boys are going to play for Deboer like they did for Saban so i expect next year to be worse.
Plus the coach they really want has another year on his contract before his option clause.

In argument for Indiana, special teams and a run up score made the score seem more dominating than the reality
Say what you want about Boise state. They know how to win and they win because they know how to balance the football game.their QB is alright and he can sling the ball. Not the best showing tonight but he has promise. Boise state is legit

This is why the playoffs are good because when someone doesn't respect a team like Boise state they will see.
this is the best report on this weekend’s foolishness
Colorado’s players fell prey to that rat poison. They were smelling themselves.
The SEC is destroying itself.
So is the Big12.
About time. Everyone is tired of their schedule manipulation by only playing 8 conference games and FCS opponents in November. Imagine how the standings in the B1G, ACC, and Big 12 would look if those teams could play Mercer instead of each other.

Gotta get rid of automatic bids for 5 conference champions... and independent Notre Dame! We need the best 12 teams!
as a fan of a 3 loss team (illinois) i understand the bama and ole miss fans trying to justify still being in the playoff picture. if we didn’t lose that minnesota game i truly believe we’d be one of the last 4 teams in the playoffs, with our only two losses to #1 oregon and #4 penn st, and beating 3 teams that were ranked at the time (#19 kansas, #23 nebraska, #22 michigan.)
you want to see your favorite team in the playoffs so badly but in my opinion 2 losses should be the maximum amount for a playoff team.
Truth! ILL
Imagine a 16 or 24 team playoff. Just put the top 24 in the playoff.
SEC (4-5):
Tennessee, Texas, Georgia are pretty much in. I don’t see any of these three losing next week, and if not, then the loser of Georgia/Texas in the SEC CG would still get in, but as a lower seed.
Ole Miss, Bama and South Carolina have outside chances, depending on what happens with other bubble teams next week.
A&M will need to beat Texas and win the SEC to go. And after tonight’s game, that seems unlikely.
B1G: 3-4
Oregon is a lock, even if they lose to Washington and the B1G championship.
OSU is probably a lock--unless they get BLOWN OUT vs Michigan and in the B1G championship.
Penn State is a lock with a win next Saturday, which is likely.
Indiana is a bubble team, will depend on the others.
ACC: 1-2
Winner of the ACC.
The loser of ACC CG could get an at-large, as long as it’s either 11-2 Miami or 11-2 SMU at that point.
Clemson only gets in as a winner of the ACC
Big XII: 1
The winner of the Big XII: ASU, BYU, Colorado or Iowa State. I think all 4 of these teams will win next week, tho the Cyclones have the toughest test. I think they finish 10-2, 10-2, 9-3, 10-2. So I betting winner of the Big XII stays as one of the Top rated 5 conference champions.
OTHER: 2
Notre Dame is a lock with a win against USC. Even with a close loss, they could still squeak in, especially if A&M plays in the SEC championship.
G5: Only one team gets in, either the winner of MWC or AAC. I don’t see them both jumping even a 2 or even 3 loss Big XII team, as the winner of that game will notch a top-25 win in that game. None of the others will be ranked high enough.
I hate the idea of 5 SEC teams getting in..but, I agree with your line of thinking being the most likely
I remember asking a while ago "When does FBS playoffs start?" The answer I got was, "The the top 4 teams usually play it out in Bowl Games."
I was absolutely shocked!! So I asked a follow-up question, "Why doesn't the FBS switch to a play-off bracket type tournament?"" The answer: "because the companies that organize the Bowls make a shit ton of money by doing it this way."
I thought, "FBS fans, players, and coaches are morons for allowing this to happen.
My College Team is Montana State University- Bobcats and we play in the FCS. The FCS has a huge playoff bracket type tournament and the fans, players, and coaches go absolutely bat-shit crazy (in a good way) during the Playoffs. Way more than FBS fans would. But we weren't done there. The Playoffs in turn caused fans to get even more invested in the conference play than ever before.
Here's why FCS fans are more invested and have way more fun than FBS fans. In life, knowing where you are and where you are going makes things easier to understand and the journey much more worthwhile. By having a clear and concise end game with the FCS Playoffs, gives everyone a clear picture because they know what's at sake if they lose or win at every stage of the season. That's what I mean by invested. The more people who are invested, the more fun the college football season becomes.
The average FBS fan does know that at the end of the season, select teams play in Bowl games. What most fans don't know but are craving to understand is what Bowl Games actually mean.
"OK, my team is playing in this Bowl game. Why are we playing in this Bowl game (Why are we here?) and what do we get if we win (Where are we going?)."
Bowl Games are confusing and leave fans stuck in the "Why" stage more often than not.
I feel sorry for FBS fans and believe that they are the most frustrated fans on earth.
Get rid of these STUPID Bowl games and set up an organized playoff bracket type tournament that will not only create more of an investment from fans, but actually leave them satisfied because there is a clear and obvious end game.
The scenario for the SEC is this:
- Georgia has clinched an SEC Championship game spot.
- The winner of Texas/Texas A&M goes to the SEC Championship vs. the Dawgs.
> - If Texas wins next week, A&M is completely eliminated from playoff contention.
> - If A&M wins, Texas will likely remain in the playoffs because of their high ranking, while A&M goes on to Atlanta to face the Dawgs.
- Tennessee will certainly make the playoffs with a win over Vanderbuilt, but they cannot make the SEC Championship.
Boise did not look good this week sure, and you talk about last week??? Did you even watch the game last week, first half was slow and then they slaughtered second half, they have been winning. You call it insane when their only loss is to the NUMBER 1 team, and if you watch that game, I argue BOISE should have WON. You say its "insane" they are almost in yet there are other teams going to be in the playoff with 2 losses to worse teams. Also theres a chance a 3 loss team will get in. Quit hating. He also forgets that Wyoming is a conference opponent so they know how to play BSU and ur was also at Wyoming which has the best home field advantage in college football because the stadium is over 7200 feet in elevation
Boise State was trailing in the 3rd Q last week and were up by only 7 with 3 min left... that's not exactly controlling the game lmao
Spot on, my friend. Yes, BSU has had their struggles with certain teams, but ALL teams have their moments when they do not perform as well as one would hope or expect.
They can’t all play UMass, UTEP, Wofford, & LA Tech. The SEC isn’t scary to any other conference anymore.

@@jormey3958you mean like how Oklahoma joined your conference this year and just took Alabama to the woodshed at 5-5 and wouldn’t let them score a single td? Ohh so scary 😧. ACC: SMU, Miami, Clemson
Big 12: Arizona State, Iowa State

@@ajs4287 exciting as a gamecock fan. I’m hoping we haven’t come this far just to lose now. All these teams lost today and gave us a chance
Honestly If SC beats Clemson, and I think they're going to, I would have no problem at all with a 3 loss SC getting in the playoffs. They've really been on fire of late. I think they should potentially be a 2 loss team right now.
@@pmode beware the chicken curse cockadoodledoo
you got yourselves a coach who is focused more on the camera than coaching, come on the dude is on commercials, NOW he has his own talk show, he's not even choice yet alone prime, he ain't nothing BUT 190# of pride, and you know what that precedes
DON'T underestimate Boise.
To play awful.
Omg yes a video that said what I was saying about the 12 team playoff because when different football TH-cam shows argued against 12 being too many I would give them the same argument. If you have a 12 team playoff people would actually care about more games closer to the end of the season because their are more teams that would be in the hunt for a playoff spot instead of maybe 6
Bama and ND should not get in. You don’t lose to Oklahoma and Vanderbilt and/or Northern Illinois, at home mind you, and get in. These committee voters are out of their damn minds.
It’s not the top 12 ranked teams that make the playoffs. You could be ranked outside the top 12 and make it, while someone in the top 12 doesn’t.
The sec and big 10 need to be broken up. Too many teams in 2 conferences. At this point just put big10 sec in there own playoff and then everyone else have there own playoff. It’s stupid.
