  • Hi y'all! Isn't the china pearl set beautiful?? All those pastel cups and plates are just lovely - I'm so happy they didn't all break when thrown into the dumpster. We also found holiday decor, bean bags, clothing, food, and lots more today. It felt like people were moving out even though it is the middle of the month!
BTW.. the Hawaiian shortbread cookies we found are *delicious*!! I am going to have to buy them now because, oh man they were tasty!
As always, thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day! Happy diving xoxo

Hi friends! This was such a great dive - we started at retail but quickly move over to some apartment dumpsters and I'm so glad we did. The pearl china plate set is beautiful - I'm really happy it didn't break in the trash before we got to it! I hope you are all having a wonderful day!! Thank you so much for watching :D

I am so amazed how you and Alex can work together as a united and loving couple. I am addicted to watching your enthusiasm and your commitment to help others with food and clothing. I am now 64 years old but the soul of a 45-year-old and am ambitious to try and do this. I live in a small town, but there is so many homeless people here that live on the riverbank woods and this town could care less about them. They wander the streets here looking in people's trash for food and clothing all the time. I am inspired to try and help them. Thank you for the encouragement and making people aware of the waste these giant retail stores do instead of donating, and the way we waste and not donate!.

These are racks that go over your sink to use as a drying rack. I stack my dishes there as I rinse them before loading up the dishwasher. I also will soak a pot in the sink, then lay the rack down, and soak another pot (for holidays), or just soak a pot in the sink, underneath the rack, while I stack the rinsed dishes & load them into the dishwasher. It's very handy for large families like mine (we currently have eight living at home). 17:02

I thought of you guys today. My brother, sister-in-law and I had to clear out my oldest brother's room (in a boarding house) as he died last week. There was SO MUCH we wanted to donate and curb, but everything was super filthy and there was a serious threat of bed bug contamination. Also the landlord didn't want a curb pile that would attract people (not a good part of town). It was just a single room, but packed to the gills with good quality, usable stuff. I live an hour away, so was able to salvage a car-full that I feel I can sanitize/decontaminate. But it was very sad and the waste bothered us so much. Most of it was lost to the landfill. It was such an eye-opener to have my affairs in order for when that time comes, to reduce clutter, and keep everything super clean. ☹

i quickly grabbed something I could reach out of a waolgreens dumpster the other day. it was one of their make up units, the shelves in clear plastic qwith all of the sections. I have it filled with my bias tape and rick rack and stuff for sewing and quilting, There were so many that will go into the land fill and never decompose they will rust and break and just sit there for thousands of years, it is so upsetting at times.

great haul and you both saved so much stuff from the landfill; i would have taken that piece of wood and will always take good clean wood when I find it; it costs so much; I've picked some up from curbside trash for a future greenhouse and raised plant beds and people are always asking about it and I just say no, I'm using that. It costs so much bought new. That looked like a good piece of cedar, could buy some legs at hobby lobby or Home Depot and make a behind-the-couch or entrance table or cut in half for side/end tables. That china was a great catch too and it would have been such a waste if it had gone to the landfill.

I love that pastel china. I was a teen in the 90s and we had a lot of similar colours in our kitchen. I would definitely buy that pattern of china. Cute as heck

If you find something you don't recognize what it is, just click on the google app on your phone. Then click the little Camera icon on the top of the app. Take a picture of the item and google will tell you what is.

You can also use those metal drying racks as trivets...to safely place large pots/cookie sheets/casserole dishes on your countertops so you needn't worry about burning or damaging them. The best part is that when they get dirty, you just roll them up, and throw them in the dishwasher to clean and sterilize them. They are definitely in my Top 3 USEFUL kitchen gadgets I've bought in the last few years.

I see you guys passing over electrical cords. I always cut the cords off things so when I get a bunch I can cash them in and it helps pay for my gas. It also keeps the copper from going to the landfills!

As someone who got bedbugs from a thrifted item, I would say that though I appreciate your idea that you think you know if there where bed bugs on something and that you would notice...you do not always know or be able to see them. They can reside as unhatched eggs on furniture, metal and not just literal bedding.
Love your content and seeing you and hubby rescue and share. The best was the washer/dryer

Your so right if I'm not mistaken there is a bedbug infestation all over the country. They can get into the small cracks under the sole of shoes will so easily transfer them to your home.
