- Been busy with work but I did make this recently. Using some 1/8 and 1/4 cello strings I had laying around. It took forever of tinkering to get it playable enough for me and I had to remove and re-glue the top. It's only 30" long with an 18.5" scale length. Sounds pretty okay!

heck yeah. You're really playing. sounds great.
Thank you!
Брутально и медитативно. Если кто-то спросит меня, как звучит спокойствие настоящего мужика, я скину это видео.
🙏 thank you
👋чудово,ваша гра!.🙏
Thank you!
That's actually really really cool 🤠
Thank you!
This is actually one of my projects. To create a Taglharpa authentically (aka no power tools) how easy would you think it would be to carve out the sound box and then make it usable?
It would be time consuming for sure but certainly doable. There are others doing it that way primarily. I'm lazy and own a CNC machine :)
@@HavocHarpa As all reasonable people do ;)
epic!!!
Thank you!
I hope I see more of your content your an amazing player. Maybe a How to play guide? 😅 im getting my first talharpa and love to see how you could help us interested in learning how
never knew such an instrument existed but pretty cool ngl

You've outdone yourself my friend! Are you using nylon for your bass string?
Thanks! They are d'addario proarte 1/4 scale cello strings. I believe they have a synthetic core. I am trying to find something else that works as they are pricey unless you get lucky and score a deal somewhere. I have some double bass rosin coming tomorrow and I'll try the cheaper prelude strings. I am messing with fishing line today but with such a short scale it requires a gigantic C string (30 strands of .5mm line was too floppy, I think it needs upwards of 40..which is ridiculous). I might switch bridges and make the afterlength longer which will increase the tension some.
Dread……🪕🪕🪕🪕🪕🪕🪕🪕
I have a couple of questions. Are you building the instruments i see you playing and if so are they for sale? Also, where are you out of?
I'm in the US in central Ohio. I am making them but am not selling any yet, this is only the second I have made and it took me a year to find time to do it! I may in the future but right now I'm just too busy with my main job @havocworks
Ohio, man that's awesome, I'm in SW Ohio, dayton area and am a germanic lyre player, Kravik, trossingen. We should jam sometime! Seriously. I don't know anyone around here who gets into these old instruments.
@@Hrothgar_ScopI wouldn't mind getting together with some others one of these days. I have been sick and recovering slowly from it; didn't want you to think I wasn't in to the idea!
Mr Havoc where do you live I would really like to play with you in some way…. I live in London…..🪕😇🪕
I'm In the USA, in Ohio.
Чёрт, я хочу этому научиться, очень круто играешь, можно узнать как называется этот инструмент?👍👍👍👍
Thank you! It is called a Talharpa en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talharpa but this one is a "bass" version which is a more modern invention.
@@HavocHarpaВам тоже спасибо за предоставленную информацию, я постараюсь накопить или же смастерить его и в последствии научиться на нём играть)
Hello, Master! I'm sorry, but the sound is much poorer than on your viola😮💨
It's harder to make a good sounding bass!
@@HavocHarpa The bass harp from your last video turned out just fantastic, and your game amazes with its unique melody!
