    Very nice stuff, thanks for posting this. If you like geopolitics to go along with your power fantasy, as the PCs become true movers and shakers, this type of story is a great way to go beyond punching foes until the xp and gold falls out. I would also recommend checking out the outstanding Reliance: Interdependence and Inner Turmoil by Adam Bell. It provides a bit more mechanical/procedural support to this type of storytelling.

    This was a well-timed video for me to see; I have a burgeoning campaign setting my players are still very early in, and this technique will help frame the central issues the factions/NPCs are involved with.

    This a really cool idea. It seems to me that you could place factions on a chart like this also.

      Exactly! Including those factions on there give a lot of context for how they would respond to certain actions the party might take, which I think really adds a lot more depth and realism to the world!
