I like that little Emberlit stove. I have wondered if a Trangia would work with an esbit stove as the stand.

you got some pretty big snow flakes....I made a soda can stove out of a mini soda can and use a esbit stove to put it in...its perfect for cooking...I like your setup on the Emberlit and stove....very nice Will...

New subscriber and 1st time ever YT comment. Thanks for the video. I've had the cheap Chinese Trangia burner and a Lixada that is pretty much the same as your Emberlit. I never realized they fit together like that. It highly improves the efficiency. From my short time using alcohol stoves, I've learned that keeping the cup/pot about 1" from the burner, and using an external wind screen when needed, are also imperative for efficiency. Thanks again for the video.

A wise old musician once said "way up north where the huskies go, don't you eat that yellow snow."

I thought it was funny when the filter lit up. It helps to add a small amount of water to your pot or cup before adding the snow. It helps it melt faster and keeps the snow from scorching. Scorched snow does not taste good, lol. I have a trangia burner that I got as a gift, I really like it. Thanks for sharing, take care my friend.

Great review! Are you able to adjust the simmer ring once it is in this easily? How is adjusting the simmer ring in the FireAnt? I want this for emergency power outages. I would need to simmer my food once I get it up to a boil. So how the simmer ring works with this would be important to me. I wish the simmer ring had a handle like Esbit and Red Camp do!

Put a small magnet on it and use something magnetic as a handle

Just a tip, use a fero rod with the Trangia because it's much easier to light that way.

I have never used that kind of burner before but it looks like I would have to continually keep supplying it would fuel.

You would have to carry fuel with you yes, but it actually burns pretty well & long on a small amount, especially in warmer weather. Thanks for watching!

You get about 20-30 mins from one fill. Easily enough to boil your water, heat your meal and even cook a steak. 👍

Very cool thank you for the video I have always wondered about alcohol stoves I never had the opportunity to try any awesome video man and that's another thing I really want to try out is a small wood-burning stove like that I have a jetboil flash and the first time I ever used it the sparker stopped working and to be honest I don't like it I would much rather not have to carry a canister of fuel and all that thank you for the video

Nice video! I've got one of the Chinese Trangia knock-offs, and it works great! I've never used it during the winter, but I think you did a pretty good job getting your snow melted. I've seen some advice in the comments that I'll be using the next time I try that!

It's about 10% snow is water as most of it is air. but it varies depending on the type of snow. but the rule of thumb is 10%. but I've had one for a long time, but never got around to testing it out. I really should

if you had used the cup on the first stove and pushed it down it would be very inefficient. it needs space above the burner. The fir ant is better as it gives you options as a twig burner

OH MY! 3 yrs. late to the party, and I hope nobody got hurt following these instructions. I'm guessing you were new to TH-cam when you posted this. Scary part is alot of commenters sounded ready to emulate your techniques. The possibility of something going very bad, real quick, should be enough to maybe think about deleting this video. Someone who didn't know better might stumble on to this and have a bad day.
