VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Bridgette and Clay owned a 1,600 square foot home and were living the "American Dream", but it didn't feel like a dream to them. They decided to sell everything, downsize and move into something smaller. After a lot of consideration, they decided to go with a Skoolie. They sold their home in 8 days, bought plane tickets and purchased an already built-out bus for 20K. They've made small changes over the last 6 months of living in it to make it work better for them (and their pets whom they love) and are loving the community they've become a part of and the lifestyle change. We wish them luck on their journey!

I came bc of the thumbnail. I stayed bc finally an interracial couple. Usually these videos are rather one note, shall we say. Like no POC. And here we have both. Which is a rarity in itself. 👍🏾I loved the color scheme. And I was won over because they have the exact stove I want for my tiny house.
Actually there are several beautiful interracial couples doing the Van and the bus life..
I haven’t seen the videos. Everywhere I look I see wonderful tiny living people. But none who look like me. Seeing someone who looks like me, and all they represent just by being together, especially now, is beautiful.

So far this has been the best school bus conversion I've seen. This really felt like a home. They did an excellent job fixing this up.

What a great home! The teal notes really lift the decor and there seemed to be everything they could need apart from solar. That fire looked too large for the space but I imagine it would be great for snowy locations. As a cat owner, I would recommend they build a littertray closet away from the living area - under the bed or by the entryway - one cat can stink a room out very easily! Happy travels to this couple.
This is the best bus I've ever seen! Totally could see myself living in this. Everything about it is perfect. Also, what a great couple! I want them as friends.

Sweet deal! The appliances alone are worth shelling out for the bus. Everything else is a bonus. That stove is awesome. The person who owned it definitely did one better on that!

July 2020 You might like Dropps' laundry detergent better than bulk powder (messy). Dropps' comes in the mail in a small light weight cardboard box full of many months' supply of plant based pods. The owner recommends one pod per load, but I use two for deep cleaning, one extra rinse. He started his family owned company back in the big long sweater trend of the 1980's for expensive wool sweater companies to wash their items before selling. That huge plastic box full of messy powder could be replaced with one small, neat, light weight cardboard box of Dropps' laundry pods (no harsh chemicals, all plant based ingredients).

What a smart couple. People are beginning to lose their homes while others are getting evicted from their rentals due to job loss and lack of money to pay rent. These people should do just fine in the situation we find ourselves in. Best of luck to you all.

Si you didn’t mention your monthly bills:like how much you spend on propane, water, or compost toilet...? I’m glad this is recently, not like from 3-5 yrs back. You decorated really nice for all the necessities, and you look really happy- good luck on all your travels.

This is really cute. I'm surprised there's enough space for 3 full size appliances. It has a lot of space. Two pets in such a tiny space has to be a challenge.

So do the cabinets lock so when on the road everything doesnt come flying out? It's a great home. Love your colors. That's one of my favorite colors. But that stove....yes. you can do some cooking on that stove. Also your bedroom doesnt make me claustrophobic. Some of them remind me of sleeping in a coffin.

Great. NO DEBT. I have a tiny world lifestyle just a little different. I have a condo fully paid I leave 6 mos. of the year and live in a warm climate different places in the world. Africa, Columbia, Spain, Greece, Brazil and many other places in the world. Domestically I have lived in Seattle, Colorado, New Mexico, Miami Beach, etc. I had the 3000 sf house and realized u live in 3 rooms. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. I love the mountains and I am a swimmer, an avid mountain biker and piano player. I take my bike and keyboard everywhere in the world with me. I work remotely as a consultant to hospitals. Sometimes I provide medical training physicians in other countries. I am a surgeon by training. My point is that everyone should choose how they want to live their life AND LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST!

Lot's of people ask me about building a skoolie conversion. I always tell them buying used is the best way to go if you limited time! This couple did just that.
I try looking through Craigslist and I couldn't find a used mobile for sale

On a side note, I watched this the day it was released and noticed that the license plate was not blurred. For the protection of your interviewees' privacy, I recommend using YT tools to blur those very private personal details. While I'd love it if that wasn't necessary, we live in a world with plenty of assholes so let's protect those we put in the very public internet :)
Clay and Bridget are a lovely couple of totally real people. I really admire their lifestyle choice and enjoyed the tour of their beautiful home. Bridget is a gorgeous woman with the prettiest smile ( you're a lucky man Clay ) and she has a wonderful personality. I love how most folk who choose this kind of minimalist living show so much enthusiasm for their most practical items and how they appreciate the things they need rather than the things they want. Cute bus conversion. They should definitely look into solar power considering ALL the appliances on that bus. This is the first bus I've ever seen with a washing machine/dryer combo unit.
