Hey man. I decided to look into Reaper about a week ago (after Ableton crashed once too many times on me) and have been very happy that I did so far. One of the biggest reasons for that happiness is your channel and all of it's content. You've made what would probably have been an incredibly stressful and frustrating process actually quite enjoyable for me. So thanks for your time , effort and information! I really like your clean, simple and straight to the point format.
i know, right... fuck protools already. I didn't think I was going to be able to AFFORD recording right now. I can't use Protools 8 anymore and I'm certainly not paying every monthfor it... Reaper and Kenny have been truly a gift from the internet and youtube.
for me it's izotope rx. At laest the spectral repair tool when it comes to vocals. Crazy! I have to admit, I never took the effort due to my laziness, opening rx handling all the transport stuff of the audio files. After I learned about spectral peaks, I did de-essing finally manually. Now that I learned about spectral edits in Reaper, I'm going to never look back to my previous workflows
I've been using Reaper for years, and there's still SO MUCH I always learn. I honestly don't understand why, (without naming names... rhymes with Schmo Schmools), is industry standard still. There's 16 reasons off the top of my head I could give you to ditch that BS. Thanks for another awesome tutorial, KG! >M
Wow, I just used this for a section where my track/stem had 2 vocals on top of each other that I don't have the ability to re-record thus fixing/removing the unwanted 2nd singer's humming. So cool. Kenny is the reason why I bought Reaper. Raise!!
This is pure magic! And it's something that would be nearly impossible to grasp on your own..Kenny really explains everything so clear and so complete! Thanks man!
Wow! Another great video from Kenny. I didn't even know REAPER could do this! It's like a mini RX. It would be nice if it had things like RX's DeClick to batch process files to get rid of mouth noise, etc., but this is great for de-essing a quick sibilant here and there without having to open RX or use the plugin.
this is fucking amazing i had no idea you could do free form fourier space edits in reaper. this will definitely come in handy in the future. thanks kenny you're the man
This is perfect. I didn't realize you could do this, thought you had to use a plugin. Like 'Extra boy.' I actually bought that plugin. Live and learn. These videos are priceless -and free! Can't beat that. Thank you ever so much, I also love 'Produce Like Pro'. I hope everyone is having a marvelous time recording and mixing!
Thank you so much for this one. I'm new to production and I've been looking for a spectrogram-view VST plugin for a few months now, while using Raven Pro for analysing my masters outside of the DAW. It has been very laborious. In the end Reaper always had the feature and now I feel dumb LOL. I love Reaper.
Thanks so much for all the time and energy you put into these tutorials. I'm a total newb, and your offerings have helped me immeasurably! Absolutely incredible the amount of power $60 put in my hands! Really, really appreciate you - and the Reaper community!
Come here looking for gold and I found a land full of diamonds, you have tweaking my hole approach in processing mixes and masters 😎 long life to Gioia
I'm ready to ditch iZotope and Audiosculpt now, except for two things. It probably isn't minor from your guys' side, but if there's a way to zoom the working area of the edit (i.e. whole window). The only reason I use the other two are micro-edits in frequency. Audiosculpt is a major pain, but really accurate and easy to focus. Izotope is fine, but Reaper alone would be infinitely better. I still see audiosculpt going away, but maybe wait till frequency and temporal zoom and frequency cut and paste can be combined before trashing izotope. You guys... This is truly awesome btw.
Yoooooooooooooooooooooooo been working in Reaper for few years now. I just discovered it. THIS IS CRAZY GOOD for any low end bumps in vocals - since deessers are doing great job, but hard to find good thing for low end explosives vowels.
wait what? this is not a new video? How often was i sitting in front of a project and thinking, I wish I had spectral editing! I somehow assumed that Reaper can't have it... Thanks for the video!!!
To clean up unwanted small noises, in Audition, I can just select the area quickly in the spectral view and just perform auto heal. Is there any equivalent tool to auto heal in Reaper?
In next week’s episode, Kenny will show you how to perform a complete tonsillectomy using just Reaper and its built in features.
...and no plugins needed...
It's a good surprise every video I watch...
This is insane, I would never have imagined this kind of thing was possible!
a great free-embedded RX. Reaper: the Unix of the DAWs

same to me !! very precious content.

Excellent video Kenny.
Reaper continues to amaze!
Every video from this channel is like seeing the light, but this one even more
Absolutely insane. Reaper has had this feature set for years and I didn’t even know 😦
This is cool as hell. Kenny's always teaching me things I didn't know I needed to know.
Eighteen times a day I need to understand one little Reaper trick and I always know that Kenny has my back. Great video.
Duuuuude this is so amazing... Ableton user here, you just made me install Repear. :)
Just watched this Kenny. Absolutely great tutorial.
I love that when I forget something, I can always come back here and get it explained.
Thanks Reaper, thanks Kenny. This is great.
Great to have this stuff integrated in the DAW without having to rely on external plugins.
Amazing feature. Reaper devs always amaze me.
As usual, thanks Kenny for your crystal clear explanation.
Lol, now I can remove Adobe Audition.

but in Audition you also have tool like Patch in Photoshop)) veeery quick! Although it's destructive to audio...
I’m in love! Gimme a moment while I geek out here...... oh yes, yes , yes! show me how you spectral edit....thank you for all your amazing work!
Gosh, this is really amazing, thanks for the detailed explanation of spectral editing Kenny !
6 years after, here I am getting saved by Reaper and Kenny's videos

OMG i love REAPER
Thank you for the video!

Thanks for walking through this. This is an incredible feature.
If only I had a math teacher in high school as concise as you man lol, thank you all your vids!
This is bloody amazing! - Thanks Reaper, and thanks Kenny once again for making things so clear :)
OMG. 3 years later and I learn about graphical spectral editing? You guys have all the great tools now.
Best DAW ever. Thank you Kenny, your videos are so all encompassing and easy to follow, I have learned so much from you.
This is pure magic!
And it's something that would be nearly impossible to grasp on your own..Kenny really explains everything so clear and so complete!
Thanks man!
Thank you for your service SSGT!
Fantastic! Thanks for the great video, Kenny. And thanks to the REAPER devs for continuing to push the envelope... ;)
Wow! Use reaper everyday. Have been busy producing, and missed these feature announcements. Insane! Less need to launch RX.
Great addition to REAPER! Thanks for the video! 👏
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen.

Completely amazing! Thank goodness there are channels like this to reveal all these tools.
I just salvaged an acoustic guitar track with this technique, thanks Kenny!!
You are the man, Kenny - your videos have been so helpful. really appreciate your knowledge and your breadth of experience.
Just used this on a acoustic guitar track that was distorting like hell every now and then...
Worked like a charm !
I’m waiting for the day where you can use keyboard chords, like Emacs. There are just too many shortcuts to assign and too few modifiers.
Microsurgery made easy - thanks for another great tutorial Kenny!
Blown away.....just blown away!
Excellent. Best DAW tutorial I've seen.
Kenny you are a didactic genius. And of course, the guys at Reaper who programmed this feature
this is fucking amazing i had no idea you could do free form fourier space edits in reaper. this will definitely come in handy in the future. thanks kenny you're the man

Nice video! Side note: I feel like Christopher Walken is teaching me about spectrograms, which is cool
I see you subscribe to the Captain Kirk method of dialog delivery :) Good video.
