Again, Kenny shows us the most advanced DAW currently out there. The only weakness in my opinion is the transient detection. I would suggest to focus on that as a top priority, since this is the only weekness I know of in reaper.
I do use subproject for mastering indeed. Yes, the freezing tracks is also my preferred way. I learned it thank to an your old video, when I started with Reaper. It's so comfortable that was one of my trigger to love Reaper. As usual: great video. It contains always some pleasant nouance
Oh yeah me too, thanks for the hint! "freeze to stereo" -> "SWS: Mute children of selected folders" -> "Set selected folders collapsed", and another action with the respective counterparts have just made it into my track toolbar to do each operation with one click! Works perfectly.
It can work if make your subproject a multichannel. Hence, you will still have one mono (or stereo) channel per track in the master project, and use individual sends for parallel or auxiliary FX treatment.
Freezing - Just a caution: I’ve had an issue in the past where I’ve unfrozen a track and its become corrupted so it’s made me nervous of using that facility - it’s annoying because it’s a great feature and I’d rather use it! ( nb. It was some time ago and from memory it was midi that was corrupted or didn’t reinstate upon unfreezing). Just thought I’d mention it. Anyone else had that issue? It means I’m more likely to copy the track ( to ensure midi unchanged) and freeze the copied track.
Ok! great! QUESTION: How do you keep the MAIN Track numbers? These sub-VOX are 2,3,4. IE: I want Drums to stay 2, Bass to be 3 and GTR to be 4. I don't want want 'NESTED' tracks to be numbered, and don't want them taking up/show as bus lanes in my mixer panel. . . Just Main Folders/Tracks/Busses, and the sub folders/tracks I want to see listed. . .. . .. I know I can hide busses, but when using my SSL gear it is especially confusing when mixing. Anyone know how to achieve this? Thanks!
The problem I've encountered is every track below the folder track become part of the folder. For some reason i cant move only certain tracks into a folder. Like, I can't just move track 3, 7 and 9 into folder at track 5.
I love the way I watch your videos to learn one thing and end up learning other things as well. Thanks Kenny!
You da boss, Kenny! Glad you're out there. Thank you for these videos. You are the wind beneath Reaper's wings.

gracias Mr. Kenny con tus videos he aprendido muchisimo eres el mejor Dios te bendiga
As always great video. Very timely as I’m struggling with CPU loading on my laptop atm.
Awesome as always, Kenny! Your timing is perfect.
Thank you Kenny. I just learned something new about folders. This is much more efficient than what I've been doing.
Good stuff Kenny
Great tips.. Thanks as always Kenny.
Thx Kenny, a nice quick useful lesson. Much appreciated.
Always something to learn from your videos.
Truly helpful! Thanks a bunch
Very helpful workflow. I'm using this for years now and have build custom actions to freeze/mute the folder or unfreeze/unmute it
Unfortunately we need more actions to mute and unmute the child tracks.
Oh yeah me too, thanks for the hint! "freeze to stereo" -> "SWS: Mute children of selected folders" -> "Set selected folders collapsed", and another action with the respective counterparts have just made it into my track toolbar to do each operation with one click! Works perfectly.

Luv this. Thank you
This was good...thank you Kenny.....
5:54 " cos they're muted" lol that was so badass 😂
Nice! Thanks Kenny!
Thank you Kenny !!
I'm now fully invested in the nested! I wonder if there is any actions or keystroke shortcuts to speed up the process?
Nice tips
It's an awesome way to work, thanks for tutorialing (like the verb? :)) ''that'' out to us Kenny!.-
Thank you!
I've never used Freeze Tracks, Now i'll never use Render Tracks.
Also... my new custom action of Freeze to Stereo followed by SWS Mute Children.
OMG CLick and drag to mute multiple tracks??!?!?!?!
Ahhhh this is huge
So what if e.g. Vocals 1 is sending to a parallel compression/reverb/etc. Will this still work when freezing the tracks?
