I was going to use this to add myself in group photos too look like i did the epidemiological survey which i have to do for collage then after watching all the things i have to do to edit i think its just better to do the actual survey.😂😂😂
I have been using GIMP for many years and just discovered your video, I have to say that I learnt a lot of useful tips and method to work with GIMP to add shading and color correction. Thanks for the useful and straight to the point explanation, it's rare to find video that I can keep on listening without falling asleep or lose focus because of too much unnecessary talk. Keep up the good work pal.
Hi and thanks for your very helpful videos. I wondered if you could do one one adding a person into a picture in the centre. We have a b & w print taken on a cruise with our late daughter missing but there isn't enough room to add her as the print has two on the left leaning in and two on the right leaning in. i tried to add her in above the rest of us but it looks too ethereal like she is visiting us from above. Nice thought but not ideal. ideally I need to add more space in the centre. Tried the curve tool but not correct. Thanks to anyone in advance.
HI I just love the way you explain everything in great detail and step by step. I will write down each stage so that if I want to do something in the future I can refer to my hand written notes. Thank you so much. It is exactly what I need all instructions step by step. You are fantastic!!!! I need to make rectangles in a picture then move my rectangle to a new location on the same picture. Is that easy to do? perhaps you have a tutorial for that I am sure you could explain it quickly and simply to you it is so basic. Thank you so much. You are a fantastic artistic , great teacher and communicator. Love you!!!!
@11:40 you create a Layer Group, however, you are happy where you have placed the inserted subject. I need to move the subject as my position at this point is incorrect. I am really struggling to do this. If I try and move, what I think is the layer containing the subject, I appear to be moving a mask and not the actual 'masked figure'.
Are you aware of Runway ML's tool to remove backgrounds from people? It can be a real time saver instead of doing those painstaking cutouts with the path tool.
Right at the beginning, when you open the pictures, you are prompted to convert to GIMP sRGB as it appears your pictures already have a colour profile. This does not happen with my (camera) JPGs. Is it correct that I should go to Image>Color Management>Enable Color Management to achieve this? Is this necessary to perform the steps you have detailed?
I wouldn't mind paying $20 for your course if there were a Q and A session available. I have specific questions about using GIMP. Sometimes it locks up and it often turns out that I didn't complete a process, but it's aggravating and I would like to be able to ask specific questions.
Good tutorial. I'll add for the everyday practical use, that that while the default communication standard should be to edit Nordic feature males out of the international group hug, these tools nonetheless provide some handy features for occasionally putting blond male faces back as random uninvited guests or high dork-factor dads. Preferably with no friendship signaled by any present female, and certainly not by one of spicier origin than their own.
There`s a massive hole in him between the shoulders of the girls, bit sloppy mate, but that isn't even the issue, the main one is the you need two images that were taken at similar focal lengths or the perspectives don`t match and it will look off and you don`t know why.
If you watch the full video I fixed the hole between the shoulders. Also, I think there are more use-cases than not of having to use two photos that DON'T have the same focal length. Thanks for the comment!

Who are you adding to your photos with GIMP?
I will be add sidhu mooseala photo.
I'm curious why you didn't use the burn tool to create the shadows instead of painting with black.

Adding parents to a wedding picture of their unique son ,cause they couldn't make it and feel sad about it.

Runway ML is not FOSS
Very useful. Thank you for the tutorial.
Nice tutorial , also bro is so handsome
What if the source image is bigger than the image you are trying to add yourself into and it keeps pasting it outside the picture and super large?
I have your course and it is so good! thank you mike.
Awesome - thanks for enrolling and glad you like it!
Muchas gracias. Con tus vídeos siempre aprendo algo nuevo.

I must have done something wrong because at the part where I am supposed to fill the path, it doesnt show the image, it literally fill its white
im so confused. it did not fill it in with white. it put the guy behind them. mine just fills it in with white which is not the goal.
that was a really good tutorial davie
Thanks!
It's too much for a senior to follow.thx

There is a Q&A section of the course where you can ask questions or read questions/answers from other students.
Thanks Davies ! Our gimp community's most respected person 🌻
When will the cmyk support will come to gimp :/ any idea?
What an honor! Not any time soon. Will take lots of manpower to get that done, which GIMP simply doesn’t have at the moment
This was very helpful..
Totally lost. Will need to take a course on GIMP. LOL!
Great!!!! Gonna photobomb my highschool photos now which i was absent 🤣🤣😂🤣🤣
I am Red Blue Colour blind How do i blend photos ????

looks like someone's dad is coming back 😁😁😁🤓
Picture: There's an *imposter* among us.
❤️
Stick to the basic topic you switch back and forth to much and it is confusing to us who are new to gimp.
Made him much 2 dark.

You talk too damn fast and too quick of movement.
