- Hey all! After saving the people of a story book, Sonic gets sucked into another and is forced to rescue a world of people that don't really exist. Fun. Along the way he teams up with a smart mouthed talking sword and is forced to fight the Knights of the Round table and the fabled Black Knight. Fun.
Welcome to a brand new FTCR LP, of a game we all kinda like....and not many others do...'Sonic and the Black Knight'. In this first part, FTA, MykonosFan and Donnie get sucked into the Arthurian legend and come face-to-faith with the legendary Black Knight!

Black Knight knew about Tails' new design way before Sonic Boom was released.
FTA and the rest of FTCR are replaying this game. The original Black Knight commentary is what introduced me to NTom64, and this and Brainscratchcomms' run of Generations is what introduced me to FTA, BSC, and just Sonic playthroughs in general beyond the Great Clement's.

This game contains the best crush 40 song Knight of the Wind

Finally I see more people loving this game just like me!! Even though this game can't always compared to big selling sonic games it still has a special place in my heart. It's very underrated like most people say and feels a lot better than secret rings. The story and music is one of the best that I never get tired of hearing. It portrays characters very well especially sonic..of course he is the only one...and has very funny dialogue!! I agree with you FTA this game is something special!!
I used to think this game was massively underrated. Now I think it's just kind of underrated. But we can all agree that it's better than Secret Rings (which actually scores lower than '06 on my personal scorecard, currently). This game was also the first and last game I ever preordered.
My record for the second Black Knight boss fight is 8 seconds.
Follower system is essentially experience. You play a level, you get followers. A single level can only give you so many followers total, so playing the same level over and over again will eventually stop giving you any. There's a finite amount in the game, so 100% completion involves getting them all.
Oh, yeah, and I did 100% this game.
I love this game. Overall much better control than secret rings, great music, and a nice little story with a great ending. Plus swords are badass! XD
GUYS! BB + FTCR = Best team up of all time?
I hope we end up seeing the legacy missions. I never tire of seeing Sonic cleave apart Egg Pawns with a sword.
I'll go ahead and spoil that I didn't record these, but in the future we might come back and show off some of the extra stuff like those levels
This game being better than secret rings is proof that when sega builds upon an implement and find what works and doesn't they can improve the gameplay. Other examples is sonic unleashed to sonic colors then sonic generations
shelby hall Which they will then abandon for something thoroughly unpolished that they don't know what the hell to do with.
Superfield which sucks cause it shows that if they just focus on the modern mechanic they can get better. Unleashed was the right step forward, colors made the controls good but generations had great level design that complimented the controls well. Then lost world, j just don't get it.
shelby hall Do you think at any point they could have made Unleashed's gameplay open enough to accommodate other character's? Me, personally I think that could have very well happened, starting with at least Shadow and Blaze.
Lee Lewis yes if course. The reason why shadow and blaze (especially blaze) is popular because they act like sonic with added effects. They don't disrupt why sonic is different from other platform we. Such with tails and knuckles if they had the same speed from the genesis days.
shelby hall Right, right. I would wonder what they would have to alter in order to have Tails and Knuckles playable in an Unleashed like game. Something akin to Generations' more branching paths would work I guess.

I actually love this game. The motion controls aren't as bad as people say. And you can easily keep your speed going with the homing slash. Though I haven't bothered 100 percenting it because of the collectibles. And I've heard the legacy missions are tough.
This is the only Sonic game I've ever returned. I still don't think to highly of it now, but I see the finer points of it and can appreciate what it does well. Still wish I had it, not really to play, but just adding to my Sonic collection. Maybe sometime in the future.
The only Sonic games I own for my Wii are UnWiished and Secret Rings. And I own all Sonic games in my house.
I appriciate this game for alot of things. The story is the right tone for this franchise, the way the other playable characters are similar yet different enough from Sonic, and how they're implemented, love the envoirments, it's my favourite soundtrack. It does so much right....but the overall gameplay is just too meh

In here, you don't just see Sonic eat a chili dog, you get to see him shove the whole thing down his own throat.

I sadly don't have a WII, but I would love to play this game. :} I really like it, even though I've only watched other people play it. Must be because you don't only play as Sonic.

I agree that this game improved on Secret Rings in almost every way. Is it a good game? Meh, but unlike Secret Rings, this one I still have in my collection.
beat this game once and not gone back to it (not anything against the game I just do that to every game now :L) think I was really bad at the game and didn't understand the soul moves but did enjoy it particularly with all the extra characters :) think at first I was skeptical of Sonic with a sword but it works well and they get the characters really well :) also recently listened to the music and Knight of the Wind, Fight the Knight, Live Life and With Me are amazing tracks :) didn't like Through the Fire and prefer the original With Me to Crush 40s, do like Crush 40 but find that ANY cover they do with Sonic songs is the inferior version

I guess Jun Senoue chose this game to have remixes of SA1 songs because it's around about SA1's 10th Anniversary when this was made :3
I really wish the remix of It Doesn't Matter went all the way through. I've wanted that remix for God knows how long.

wouldn't say everyone hates this game, think it improves enough on Secret Rings to be considered between ok and good depending on people, didn't deserve the low scores it got from the idiot reviews... but it's not better than unleashed, the werehog can be annoying but the day time stages push it past this game in either version
I'd argue The Dark Brotherhood is the worst Sonic game.
Labyrinth, R, Shadow, 06, Secret Rings, and Chronicles are the games in the series that are flat-out bad. I'd say Chronicles is at least tied for the worst, but it's hard to lose to Secret Rings or Shadow.
