Thank you! I abide in the Lord and I don't have a hard time with praying for myself to obey, change, work on myself etc but I do struggle with praying for blessings for myself. The Lord has addressed this with me but I feel guilt, I especially want my time in prayer to be for my husband and children's benefit more than my own. I know the Lord has let me know that praying for my own successes, blessings, walk and sanctification are essential because I am important to Him, He loves me!
This message is timeless!! I think praying for and loving the people we love is easy of course, to pray for and love the bullies the murderers that’s a whole other level.
Praying for onself is very important
My Jesus poured all of himself out on the cross for us all...faith, love, forgiveness, peace, and comfort. All of his fruits are given to us. Gifted. Blessed.
"Your" Jesus... what about my Jesus... you think you're better than me?! haha
I can attest to praying for myself, especially the last several years, for me it's Psalm 46:10, which my mother referred to when I was an adult, and I thought she was crazy, but she was RIGHT!!! I was forced to be still, and I had to make the choice to trust HIM as things got very difficult for me, He has helped me become more loving, giving, and the chances for people to be moved for the better because of how I was changed because I was finally able to pray for myself.

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Jesus told His disciples, 'Pray so that you will not fall into temptation. ' (Matthew 26:41 NIV) In other words, pray before the temptation comes and you'll be strengthened and fortified to handle it.
We need to stop thinking we are or acting like our spouses personal holy spirit.

How do i love upon a person who is difficult with intent on a daily basis and who does not like you at all but are living in the same residence? Without being taken advantage of or becoming a doormat?

What does prayer do I've suffered consequences of abuse my hole life I've never seen any answers to prayers
I don't know who you are but I'm so sorry you are suffering and I understand. The only thing I can do is pray that a breakthrough happens.
Oh, and I do know that unless you are saved, The Lord does not hear your prayers. I don't know if you are saved or trusted your life with Christ but that is the first step. Next I'm working on total surrender of what is making me sad, depressed, angry etc. I've seen some amazing things happen when you totally give up that 'thing' and give it to Christ. It's hard I know, and I'm still working on it.
I can not find Abide by Andre Murrey but I did find Abide in Christ is that the same book I really want to purchase it as well please
