I studied history at university, and I love the hilarious references to historical things in an ahistorical game.
By all means, continue. That way I won't have to fumble around trying to figure out those machines!
Although seriously, I think the new mechanics will be made a lot easier if you have the tech/skill 'Cultist', that allows you to see the red/white skulls in the organs. It's at the end of the Anatomy and Alchemy tree. Then, I think, in addition to having to unlock different organ slots on the soul healer machine (check the new tech tree fully, and look carefully at the interface of the machine when you open it, there are faint boxes around the spaces already unlocked), I think you need good organs with positive white skulls and negative red skulls to absorb sin from a soul. But that is a wild guess at this point.

Me: realizes that I completely missed last years Game of Crone DLC.
Me: Stops watching Sharky's video, picks up Game of Crone, has a delightful afternoon jumping back into am old save file I have not touched in far too long, and knows that there is another DLC waiting for me when I am ready for it.
Thank you Sharky! If not for you I likely would not have known this (or the previous) DLC's were coming out. While I didn't watch your whole video, as I wanted to avoid spoilers, I love that you put this out.
Ooh this look great. Since it's on a good offer on Steam right now, I think I'll get it and all the DLCs. £14 for the collector's edition bundle sounds pretty reasonable.
I played this game for about 50 hours on my Switch and then dropped it when I got my PC, but this makes me think I should pick it up for PC now!

I wouldn't call it unexpected, they have released a dlc every year around Halloween, and they also have been unusually active on Twitter before they announced the dlc I was waiting for it honestly
There IS a reason you cannot go into town.... but it is a bit of a spoiler at this point. So like the little kids who listened to the Lone Ranger show, we all scream "Tonto, don't go into town!!!" [per Bill Cosby in his childhood stories... I watched the TV show reruns as the radio show was mostly off the air] (He always got ambushed and beat up by the townies because he was a native American).
I love this game so much. I did 100% it. This was my covid life for a few months

I think you can get oil from the seed oil. just use it in your inventory. Similar as the bucket of water

I'd suggest picking up all three DLCs ... most of the content isn't important in early game, but they're nice to have. Stranger Sins gives you a tavern to manage (extra money) and tells you a lot about the past of the NPCs around you and Game of Crone comes with a refugee camp (or, as I call them, 'easy food production') and a story including vampires. Breaking Dead is now part of the main game, so you get that, anyway. Better Save Soul will add a lot of stuff, too, no doubt.
How do you have so little automation. You can do almost everything with zombies.
create the work bench in the soul room you can then use the sin shards to upgrade body parts with white and red skulls.
You will need organs with 3 white and 3 red skulls for the soul healing machine.
organs you will need
Flesh, Blood, Fat, Skin, Heart, Brain & Intestine.
The fat and blood you should always take out (once you get gentle butcher and another one that drops the chance of you messing up an autopsy) to get two red skulls removed.
Same with the others. Heart, brain, flesh and so on remove the red skulls on the corpses. I'm betting you need to find which organ per corpse has the sin on it (the trick is to reload a day as you take out each organ, to hopefully find the one that gets rid of the red skull.) then toss *that* organ into the soul healer.
I would check to see if the harmed souls can be put in Smiler's Box as he said he has to stay there. Maybe they can be stored inside?
(I was yelling "put your hand in The Box! Keeper" at the screen lol, waiting for a Dune joke....but instead we got budget Slimer lol from old ghostbusters. At least when Smiler eats, the food dissapears, not falling thru him)
This dlc will be good to start right at the beginnings of a new playthru, since you can practice with the lower quality corpses and extract parts then cremate them. Its just getting the science points at the start to grab cremation tech as soon as possible.
I hope it hits switch soon, I really love to play graveyard keeper in my cosy bed lol.

Since I never watch TV by choice for the past 20 years (and only do when visiting family/friends and there is no choice, or while in hospital and too tired to read a book), only the "Game of Crone" reference was obvious to me.... I have watched TV while in hotel rooms while too tired to read but not sleepy, doctors' office and airports... but again, mostly not by choice.

You're missing a technology that tells you the number of red and white skulls each organ contributes to a corpse. For the machine that takes organs, you probably get to the point where you know you need a 2 white skull stomach to repair a soul. But that would mean that you've bought the techs that give you that info.
i tried to go to the town but i was killed at the border.
This game is already really great. But the devs keep craving out great dlc too. If only all game developers shared this commitment. I was just thinking how nice it would be too excited the house. Not gonna watch the whole thing. I can't wait to get it and play it myself.

I wish theyd fix the instability on the switch edition, and release the newest dlc there, too.. Ive got a great save file going and I really love this game, but if you have too many things going or too many items stockpiled up or even if you have a file that runs past like 700 days it just gets so stuttery and laggy. It becomes unbearable after a time, and plus sometimes when items appear on the ground after crafting them, they just get flung away from you, forever sliding offscreen forever unobtainable, probably adding to the likely memory leak issue this game has.
I wish theyd update the switch edition.....

I haven't played Graveyard Keeper since release, so none of the DLC yet. How many hours extra does the DLC add roughly?
I really want to love graveyard keeper. However for me the one thing that ruins the game for me is the alchemy system. It's not that it's complicated but it's FIDDLY like .. do this at X machine and this at Y machine and feed Z back into X And Multiply by the U and Fall on your A And pray to G you didn't mess anything up.
I think if they streamlined that so it was easier to use like give a centralized workstation interface. I would totally get back into it. I have to give them props for continuing to support the game despite some bad press.

I adore Graveyard Keeper, everything about it is just magestic. I've played it on pc but I'd love if the devs could just drop a little honey on the mobile ports too. That would be awesome. And also thanks sharkygames for bringing this vid to us. Appreciate it a lot!
