The fact that Starmer has a prepared speech says very little about his competence and ability to lead the country. I think he isn't particularly very charismatic, but frankly the overly charismatic ones have been problematic in the UK and across the world.
If he spoke "from the heart" and unprepared then the risk of him saying something incorrect increases and people in TH-cam comments would complain about that instead. Give me considerate, thoughtful speeches instead please.

It's a bit less than 80%. Also, the popular vote never translates into parliament seats. It's how our voting system works and has always worked. It's not like the Tories ever had a huge chunk of the popular vote either. The Lib Dems pushed a referendum through in the Cameron/Clegg years and it got voted down.

Trump WILL get back into the White House and there will be a conflict between China and the US. And yes there will be a nuclear exchange between them.
Where it goes after that I don’t know. But I’m convinced something is going on behind the world stage to provoke more conflict and mass casualties as well as a contained destruction of society/civilisation.
Having said that… current capitalism will be eradicated along with democracy and AGI by then at least will assist in wise decision making for the planet.

yup! my sisters and boyfriends voted labour and when i asked what they liked about starmers policies they replied .. "whos starmer" .. this countries finished .. (were in Birmingham aswell where labour have bankrupt the city)

Labour only got a 36% share of the total votes. The "First past the post" voting system highly skews how votes translate to seats won in parliament.
This was the most disproportionate election in terms of votes to seats in British history.
Just remember, he didnt really win as he had a lower vote share than corbyns labour, a very low turnout for a GE compared to previous years and reform split the CON vote.
They won by default as they were against next to no real opposition due to the tory betrayl of public trust, scandals and sleeze. It highlights the various problems with our electoral system as in a two horse race and that's it.
Be hopeful by all means because britain needs it now more than ever, but don't be fooled into thinking its as cut and dry as presented in mainstream media.
