I think this is a common thing for a lot of AKB centres. AKB48's Maeda Atsuko was a lot like this. She even used to insist that she 'wasn't good at anything', but she led AKB48's golden age. Because of her in the middle we got to see Takamina as a strong captain, Tomochin grow up to be a starry diva, Mayuyu go from robotic idol to something more etc. I think the exceptions to this might have been Jurina, Sayanee and Miyuki because they tended to steal the spotlight rather than share it. Of course if you didn't know AKB's side at all I've just rambled nonsense at you. ^^; But long story short I agree. And I watched Sakura grow up from day one. Her journey's truly been wonderful and as a former 48 wota I'm really happy she's managed to achieve all of this. Given the 48 group's decline I really support her graduation and moving onto bigger things as well.

D.S. Kim Here we go again with the Sakura can’t dance and sing thread. Look, Sakura isn’t the best in any skill but she CAN. Her skills are raw but she definitely can and she learns fast. During the vocal lesson, she only needed Soyou’s one advice and an example from Miyu to hit the note. Also, her dancing is a bit stiff but definitely has energy and sharpness unlike Hyewon who rarely puts energy in her dance ( see it for yourself in the Gorilla event)
+kanh to be fair, they made an observant comment and the more "harsh" can't dance and sing comments usually come hand in hand with Sakura super fan's comment's of how she "slayed" a performance eg. DDu du ddu du (not really) or how.. "even when she's not center she still shines" eg. Let's meet again (unless you were looking for her again not really) or her vocals are so amazing *love* (still a bit unsteady). As you said she's not the most skillfull and she's shown improvement throughout the show and positive comments are better than negative comments. But for something like this which involves social critique, people can't help providing retort to a comment they think goes against their own thoughts. Again these are my opinions, which people will potentially dis-agree with, but that's just how it works.

Produce 48 was the biggest robbery in the history of a show.. Sakura who deserves first place, Chaeyeon who shouldn’t be in 12th seat and Gaeun not being able to debut.. But at the end they produced a group called IZ*ONE and I do believe they wouldn’t be perfect without the existing members.. por kon that's why the producer of the show decided that only Korean can votes, and look most of the Japanese that join the show is not that famous inJapan. As I remember the only famous Japanese that join the show was only Nako,Sakura,Juri,Jurina,Hitomi and Miru.(well Sakura,nako and hitomi made it to the final 12) Some of the Japanese that join is still trainees also(there is a system in Akb48 that if you are a new comer you can't join to the performing groups directly Bibian,Minami,Erik etc. Are example of that trainees) some are already pass on their peak of popularity and seeking a second chance in Korean industry and some of them is not that famous in Japan even though they already debut a long time ago.

That's what people thought too about Somi, Pick Me is owned by Yoojung. But Wonyoung is more of a versatile center, but Nekkoya forever belongs to Sakura
Cerulean The difference between pd101 and pd48 is that the center for Nekkoya never changed from the beginning up to the end whereas in season one, Somi centered Pick Me in the finale instead of Yoojung. That's why it's gonna be weird for Wonyoung to center Nekkoya from now on because that center spot has always been Sakura's. It was hers from the beginning to the end of the show.
Sakura made the impossible possible. She is a Japanese but she made it in the top(with her hardworking and love of the fans) and even showed love and care to Chaeyeon and to everyone in the world especially to Japan and South Korea that friendship has to limits^^ her fellow trainees voted for her too^^

me too, i don't know sakura before. at the beginning i don't want to watch this produce because i know i will disappointed with the final line up like the previous season..however after i watch sakura as the centre of nekkoya i always wait for her to appear in every episode.
Maybe she will not be the center but... she can be the face of the group? Center is only for dances and more screentime, but we all know face of the group is better than center. I don't remember if the n 1 is face of the group too, but if it's not, they have to put Sakura. Besides all are gonna be like "She don't have talent". Face of the group is grab attention, and she does have the talent for that.

D.S. Kim Here we go again with the Sakura can’t dance and sing thread. Look, Sakura isn’t the best in any skill but she CAN. Her skills are raw but she definitely can and she learns fast. During the vocal lesson, she only needed Soyou’s one advice and an example from Miyu to hit the note. Also, her dancing is a bit stiff but definitely has energy and sharpness unlike Hyewon who rarely puts energy in her dance ( see it for yourself in the Gorilla event)

+kanh to be fair, they made an observant comment and the more "harsh" can't dance and sing comments usually come hand in hand with Sakura super fan's comment's of how she "slayed" a performance eg. DDu du ddu du (not really) or how.. "even when she's not center she still shines" eg. Let's meet again (unless you were looking for her again not really) or her vocals are so amazing *love* (still a bit unsteady).
As you said she's not the most skillfull and she's shown improvement throughout the show and positive comments are better than negative comments. But for something like this which involves social critique, people can't help providing retort to a comment they think goes against their own thoughts. Again these are my opinions, which people will potentially dis-agree with, but that's just how it works.

por kon that's why the producer of the show decided that only Korean can votes, and look most of the Japanese that join the show is not that famous inJapan. As I remember the only famous Japanese that join the show was only Nako,Sakura,Juri,Jurina,Hitomi and Miru.(well Sakura,nako and hitomi made it to the final 12) Some of the Japanese that join is still trainees also(there is a system in Akb48 that if you are a new comer you can't join to the performing groups directly Bibian,Minami,Erik etc. Are example of that trainees) some are already pass on their peak of popularity and seeking a second chance in Korean industry and some of them is not that famous in Japan even though they already debut a long time ago.

Cerulean The difference between pd101 and pd48 is that the center for Nekkoya never changed from the beginning up to the end whereas in season one, Somi centered Pick Me in the finale instead of Yoojung. That's why it's gonna be weird for Wonyoung to center Nekkoya from now on because that center spot has always been Sakura's. It was hers from the beginning to the end of the show.
