Actually bought the Insta360 One R twin that comes both wide and 360 camera before the season of 2020... Then the virus attacked... Still have it there ready for I hope this season. I would use it to get extra battery and maybe some other gadget

@malcolmmoore Great work! I have been living in the GoPro ecosystem for the last 25 years, and recently wanted to explore the Max or a similar offering... this video is really helpful! Loving the ease of the X2 (from what I can see). Have you tried the backpack harness for this cam?
I have noticed you using an X2 or X in the last videos you uploaded and was looking forward to you posting a review to it. Really love the possibilities one has with 360 cameras when snowboarding. I was looking forward to use my newly bought One R on the mountain but unfortunately I had to cancel all the planned trips up until now.

My husband and I just started learn snowboarding last snow season. We like to use the 360 camera to capture our move so we know what we had done wrongly/correctly. But first we need to improve a bit so we will feel comfortable to shoot while snowboarding. Thanks for your snowboard video and tips. Great help to us and fun to watch. Thanks a lot.

Представь себе выходишь ты в сад и видишь что все деревья в саду повалены. Какая мысль придет к тебе в голову? Скорее всего ты подумаешь что ночью прошел сильный ураган. А теперь представь что ты также выйдешь в свой сад и увидишь что не все деревья повалены, а каждое третье дерево повалено. Какая мысль придет к тебе в голову? Ну врят ли ты здесь все спишешь на ураган. Вполне возможно ты подумаешь что кто-то решил тебе отомстить и это явно не ураган.
А теперь представь что у тебя в коробке 3000 (три тысяча) буквенных символов. И представь что ты подкинул все эти буквы в воздух. Упав на асфальт какова вероятность что эти буквы образуют какое нибудь слово? А какова вероятность что эти буквы образуют какое нибудь предложение? А какова вероятность что эти буквы образуют какой нибудь абзац? А какова вероятность что эти буквы образуют какой нибудь текст? А какова вероятность что эти буквы образуют какую нибудь книгу? Вероятность равна почти нолю.
А ведь двойная спираль днк намного сложнее устроена чем текст на асфальте.
Верить в то что там где то сверкнула молния и вот там тоже где то сверкнула молния, а потом произошла химическая реакция и химические элементы бац соединились и образовали сложное химическое вещество, которая вдруг стало бороться за свое сохранение и не просто сохранение, а ещё и воспроизведение себе подобных- это глупо.
Это все равно что будучи археологом ты наткнешься на руины древнего города и первая мысль которая к тебе в голову придет- это что здесь когда то жили люди. Ну, а если твой коллега скажет: "неа, это просто там сверкнула молния и вон там тоже сверкнула молния, а потом началось землетрясение и вот таким образом и образовался этот город". Ты после этого разговора скорее всего попросишь руководство что бы твоего коллегу отстранили от работы в связи с тем что у него поехала крыша.
Так вот предыдущая ситуация еще более нелепая.
Бытует мнение что наша вселенная хаотична. Но я с этим не соглашусь. Я уверен что наша вселенная упорядоченна.
Так что ребята случайностей не бывает. Случайного везения просто нет. Наша вселенная не хаотична, а упорядоченна. Просто ставьте цели и достигайте их. И верьте что у вас тоже может получиться. Не сдавайтесь ребята.

I would use the camera to film to film my runs and bike rides and hopefully my return to alp d’huez snowboarding trip next year. I haven’t been back since I worked a season there 10 years ago but your videos make me want to go back. Keep up the cool vids.
Informative video, thanks. I'm still trying to decide on my first action camera, which will be used primarily while skiing. Leaning towards this one, but there seems to be a distinct lack of mounting solutions for its shape, compared to the GoPro/DJI Osmo brick shapes.

Hey, awesome clip. I'd use the camera for my snowboard fails and to capture footage from my motorcycle road trips. Both would inspire people. First that you can't be as clumsy as me on the board and second for how beautiful this world is.
Side note : keep doing your vids, it has been a pleasure to go snowboarding from the confinement of my home ;)

I would use the camera to capture and upload our squad footage from trips around the US & out of the states as well. Documenting our progress as boarders, and our encounters along the way. Much love!

Yeah, still hiking, although they're only grooming one beginner run now which makes making videos more difficult! And I don't think resorts in France will open at all this winter unfortunately...

Been viewing action cam reviews like a maniac for the past two weeks and tryin to figure out what i should buy as my first action cam ever. Kinda been leaning towards a one x2 now for at least a couple of days. Would use it for filming awesome snowboarding, skateboarding and hiking clips with my dog!

Been looking into a 360 camera but was always scared of the editing side of things and not being able to make it look decent. That actually looks fairly user friendly tho and the shots from it are sick!
Yeah it's pretty easy to use, just make sure you want something for those close in shots, otherwise a traditional action cam will be better!
I’d use this camera for getting some clips at the park or offpiste or for surfing in the summer, when that’s all allowed again

I commented on one of your vids 3 weeks ago and how I’m new to snowboarding. Last night I went out and it was my best night ever! I hit some blues, did my first 360 (on the ground) and started to learn how to do toe turns.

You should do a video on different boards that would be super interesting, I've seen you ride quite a few and it would be cool to see the difference and why certain ones are your favorite and or your best board

It's the free insta 360 desktop software that you can get from their website
I actually prefer the GoPro max for 360 footage, I know you get higher frame rates but I actually find the workflow of the GoPro app easier to use. I’ve only had my max a few weeks, the learning curve is quite steep.
Great post. And what kind of resort allows a dog?! Love it. I take my dog backcountry but would love to tire her out on some groomers :)
A closed resort! No lifts in france are running this season due to covid, so I'm hiking up everything, hence the empty slopes and ski tourers in the background!

I have the One X pretty awesome camera though the audio isn’t great. Best thing about it is I don’t have to worry where point it as it captures everything so I can concentrate on not wiping out! 😄

Yeah you can do vertical too, and actually you don't even need to pick beforehand, you can just choose in the phone app or the desktop app afterwards. 😉

If I got that camera I’d probably use it to film some great landing shots from my wingtip when I’m allowed to continue with my Private Pilot’s License!

I'll be using it to take videos of all my 6 kids snowboarding. It still be a useful tool for them to be able to watch their mistakes in riding and be able to correct them after watching themselves on video. It's difficult to take videos of 6 kids all at the same time, but with a 360cam, it will be easier since I don't need to pan around, just keep the cam steady in one position.

Have you filmed yourself jumping? I've noticed on other snowboarders using the 360, their jumps look weird. Any rotation ends up looking not right.
I haven't done much spinning with it yet, will give it a go!
Can u show how this camera looks using a body mount? Helmet or chest.
I might do some, but for that I think a normal action cam is better, the 360 cams work best on a stick in my opinion!

Yeah that was exactly my plan for this season but unfortunately no lifts are running anywhere in france and hopping borders isn't the thing to do at the minute! Next year though I'll definitely be road tripping around the Alps 👌

@@Mike_Solo no worries, no I didn't use those clear lens guards. I've seen people use them on the gopro max but this didn't come with any
@@malcolmmoore Yeah, you need to purchase them separately - I think you should consider at least one set of these to test out.
If you will scratch a lens that will be terrible.
It's not like the One R when you can just purchase the lens module separately.
