you should absolutely read Sarah Polley's book, Run Towards the Danger. this collection of essays was extraordinary, but especially the final, titular essay about her struggle with the aftermath of a concussion and her ultimate recovery. the advice she received, "run towards the danger," was life-changing for her. it was for me, too.
