Just order the Japanese From Zero Book 2 and I'm loving George's videos. You were able to pass the N5 with only going up to book 3? This is a huge confidence boost! Update us when you take N4 please! Also, been loving WaniKani!
Really awesome you've stuck to your studies. Some people here on TH-cam seem to have quit because they stop uploading videos on japanese and upload other videos about random stuff.
Ah, the "fake it til' you make it" method! But I kid. That was a really good idea to use the English translation side-by-side with the original manga! As for me, I have a few quick reference guides with tabs to the common words and phrases on the chance I'll visit again. Really enjoyed the video, and can't wait for the next one!
Thank you for this video you inspired me to pick up Japanese again I got through all of Genki 1 In uni 4 years ago (well I started then) and I completely dropped it because I had to focus on my real major and working (it was to much for me to try and focus on Japanese in-between that). But now I really want to start again and I'm going to try the from zero series see if that works for me better or maybe even use both but I'm finally glad I have the motivation again thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing all these tools and how you study. You mentioned reading speed, my English reading speed is slow and it’s my native language but I’ve found my Japanese reading is about the same if you minus all the times I have to stop and look something up which is a lot with the kanji😅 My friend inspired me to refresh my hiragana and katakana with Duolingo. While it has its shortcomings being game based and you can use context clues rather than actually learning, it has helped me to remember all the things I had forgotten. What are your thoughts of Duolingo? It’s a fun casual game for me that helps me have fun and not get too burned out.
Nicely to end up here and quite impressed how huge excitement you have in order to keep studying Japanese language. Easy to understand how learning language as your second would be difficult. Keep it up!
Great video! I've been lazy on my end. I have a lifetime sub to Wanikani and am at level 40, but I've slowed down tremendously this year -- had I followed the same rhythm I did last year, I probably would have been level 50 at this point. But it doesn't matter. Besides, I intend on going through the wanikani levels a second time. I do have to say that my biggest issue with kanji are those that look similar to one another and the compound vocab that doesn't follow logic (why is daikon litterally a big root, which makes sense, while the term carrot is made from the kanji for "people" and "participate"? And that's just one example...). I also need to go through my Genki books -- with the pandemic, I couldn't access the first book for several months, as I left it in my office, but I eventually was able to bring it back home. I also have many manga in Japanese that I found for cheap locally. Got the full Sailor Moon series, as well as Peach Girl and individual volumes of Doraemon. Even found a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon manga as well as a Starfy manga. Finally, I have several games in Japanese, including the Doraemon Story of Seasons game and Little Dragon Café. :)
Hello! First I'd like to say that this video is ADORABLE and extremely helpful. I have a quick question for you, and I'm sorry if someone has already asked this, but that Harvest Moon book, do you think you could post the name of it or some identifying feature. I adore the video game series and I loved the idea of getting an easy kids book like that one to practice reading. I'm having trouble finding it on my own.
Hello! Here is the ISBN number for the Harvest Moon book- ISBN978-4-04-631495-6 The main titles of it is just Bokujou Monogatari, I hope with this info you can find it!
sis should I go with Japanese from zero or genki ? I am not very fast learner or very easily understandable so which should I choose I ur opinion cuz i am a ginger like u😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@GingerGaiden thanks for replying and I wonder that other TH-camrs won't answer the questions at all ❤ and I was expecting that any random person will reply but you replied I love that ❤❤ I will buy it DEFINITELY and *be ready for my more questions from u* 😂 lol cuz I am self studying 😊the language 😌
So, OMG. I love Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons (Bokujou Monogatari), and I don't think I've heard of any children's book for the series, even for Japan. And I'm part of the largest, still-running English forum for the series (fogu.com/hm) I'm also studying Japanese and struggle a bit with daily motivation. I'm about N5 level, but have never taken any classes.
I have a question for JFZ are the kana and kanji books a combinations of the other books or just continuations? I’ve been looking for the answer to this everywhere pls help me 🙏🏽
Hi! I really want to learn Japanese, and am planning to start off with Japanese From Zero. Which JLPT level do you think that JFZ 1-5 could be enough to pass? (Also, which book do you recommend I start after finishing all of the JFZ books?)
Hi Ginger! I'm new here and i already adore you. Am i not wrong or you just wearing Paramore merch? If it is Paramore merch we have a same good taste :)
Japanese from Zero is really good for that because of the workbook inside, plus it takes you thorugh the steps to writing hiragana, katakana, and later kanji
JFZ is like such a good textbook.I love how easy it is to understand for someone that struggles understanding grammar like me.
How I study:
fail every day and cry
Yea but you read Air so who's the real winner
@@GingerGaiden lol I should read the rest of it but it will take like 80 hours

Loved the video! At first I really hated doing kanji, but now it is my favorite thing to study. I transitioned from Japanese From Zero to Genki.

Posting these videos give me motivation to keep learning Japanese! can't wait for the next vid.
You've mentioned "motivation" quite a lot in the beginning of the video.
A certain Capcom character would be proud.
I'm also studying Japanese and am a beginner. I'm also a Ginger XD
Gingers united
Japanese news bulletins, drama & music for listening, random jp blogs for reading.
Nice keyboard you have and also I still remember the old videos from your other channel

I love playing simple relaxing games like that in Japanese as well!
How's Ibaraki? I lived there for 18 years, in Kamisu City.
I enjoy it! I used to live in Miyagi and I miss it a lot, but I do like having easier access to Tokyo and the airport.
My friend SOMEHOW learnt Japanese in one year at the age of 13. She used to buy mangas in Japanese cuz they where cheaper
That's badass

Yotsuba or Arisa?

Did you finish with WK? And how's your Japanese going so far?
I've been inconsistent with Wani Kani but I will be getting back to it. I just did an update video posted yesterday about Japanese!
Hi! I’m curious on how long it took you to go through each JFZ.
The first book about 4 months, the ones after closer to 8

Hmm that's a tough one since most of mine were bought in Japan, but try specifically Amazon japan!
I'm learning on google i did speak japanese words
What is your green book ? Where did you buy ?
Its called 牧場物語。picked it up at a second hand store really. Japanese thrift stores have tons of books just like this!
Oh unless you mean Genki, which i bought on amazon

Yes! I LOVE PARAMORE! I have so many shirts of them, so nice to see a fellow Paramore fan!
What level will both みんなの日本語 books get me
Do you mean JLPT level or general understanding?
The first and second minna no nihongo should get you to around N4 to N3
are their books for learning how to write japanese?
