I love how this basically turned into the "we have cluster rockets at home" run, though with way more fire rate.
I did this myself a few days ago with the codex, for most of the weapons. Having actual cluster rockets (and most of the other rail hammers) is very good. Especially giving myself heroic Hermes boons on top...
The triple-twin shot is so wonky, I now want it as an extra hammer in the game.
i think the game was thinking "well, we already have 3 shots so might as well merge the two." Maybe the bow was already coded with 3 shots but only one of them is used without hammers, and with triple, the two "dormant" shots activate, and with twin, one "dormant" shot activates and moves closer to the main shot. Idk. just speculation.
I wonder if it would behave different if you picked them up in the other order (twin shot first, then triple)?

@@xraenon1664 I think it would just turn into triple shot then, unfortunately.
My guess is that the game has an array for all the bow shots you fire at once, with each element having damage, range and direction set. When you start a run with a bow, the array only has a single element, which is your standard shot, pointing forwards with normal damage (arrow at index 0).
When you pick up triple shot, the game assigns two new arrows to index 1 and 2, so you now have three arrows which point into different directions.
The reason why picking up twin shot then leads to such weird behaviour is because twin shot changes index 0 and 1 (the first and second shot) only, so the third shot (index 2) remains the same, which is why you get one shot off to the side and the others into the same direction.
However, when you pick up twin shot first and triple shot second, it will just replace all arrows with the corresponding triple shot versions.
But that's just a theory. A GAME THE-
What I think happened with the Triple Shot/Twin Shot combo is there’s still only 3 arrows being fired but the one on the left got pulled closer to the center to emulate how Twin shot works. I don’t know for certain but based off the visuals that seems to be what’s happening.

Yeah I guess the reason why they're incompatible is that they modify the same variables, so when you start you have 3 shots but 2 are set to null probably, then with tiple shot all 3 are active and in twin shot the third is non-existent and the second is positioned in front
The first public playable version of Minecraft was in 2009. Only reason why I have that memorized is because that was also the year I started high school. The official release was 2011, 1 week after Skyrim.
When they said 2011 in chat it broke my brain cuz I was sitting here like no way I was like 11 when it came out so that must have been 2009. Thank you for making me feel not crazy.
I hope that in Hades 2 either hammers are replaced by Daedalus himself, OR (I think I'd prefer this), they're replaced by Hephaestus boons
I think them being replaced with boons kind of messes with the design philosophy of boons, but I do really want to see Haphaestus in the next one.
I just hope they make all hammers useful. Some are truly pointless.
I hope it's Hephaestus boons- I feel like his absence was the weirdest of all the missing olympians considering the really obvious spot he could fill. and the hammers aren't functionally that different from Hermes boons in the way you (generally) get 2 per run and they don't count towards your god pool.

The difficulty with the all hammers runs is the lack of health and other boons. I feel like a bunch of the hammers didn’t really do anything and the lack of the other things just made it a big struggle
Game of the decade contender for me: Undertale. Massive cultural impact, massive shift in the way a lot of games tell stories, music and characters that transcend the gaming community... It's hard to say there's many games released 2013-2023 that were anywhere NEAR as impactful, even if the gameplay isn't genre defining

today i tried Hera bow with Hera cast from the Olympus Extras mod, afro attack and snow burst gives a 75% attack bonus it's pretty neat.
I'm surprised no one mentioned Kingdom Hearts. I don't think it would beat out other 2000s games for the win, but I feel it at least deserves a mention.

Bg3 will win goty and will be most people's game of the decade. It's not the first game to do the tabletop style rpg, but it perfected it. Take into consideration the repayability, moddability, sensational music, phenomenal voice acting with realistic mocap, can be played alone or with friends, and the fact that Larian have you this massive game with no DLC or micro transactions, and you just have the perfect storm. We won't see another game like bg3 for a very long time, and that's why it's gotd.
Just wanna say I literally JUST beat hades for the 1st time. And I gotta say it's thanks to your content. If I didn't know about chirons now, I'm sure I would've wasted my titans blood on something else. So thank you!
tbh i feel like one of the best games from last decade it is Elden ring because of the world wide impact and it even got higher place than GOW and the game was amazing, amazing story, easter eggs, world building and chalenging combat which makes people just play it more and more. Also in the decade before that it will most probably be minecraft
I think half life 2 has a really strong case for most impactful video game of all time. Source engine was in EVERYTHING and half life 2 also launched fucking STEAM
Diablo 2 came out in 2000. I played the first Diablo before the second one came out. D2 is still the biggest game by far for me. There's no telling how many hours I've put into it, at LEAST 10k. No question. Blows my mind nobody talked about it. Maybe too young when it was still new? I was 14 and it pretty much defined my life.
I've been playing on and off for 20 years. I got my first self-found Ber rune recently, lol

Game of the Decade would be Outer Wilds. Simply the most original game I have ever played.
Outer Wilds is REALLY good, but my vote would be Undertale. I'm not sure what other game has a cultural impact larger than Undertale.

To the guy who said without EverQuest there is no WoW I say false. Without WC3 there is no WoW. Without EverQuest you still have MMOs that have had much more staying power than EverQuest.
2012 but Borderlands 2 has too be a contender for game of the decade.
Path of Exile came out in 2013. Path of Exile 2 is going to be huge. PoE has grown a lot over the years. Personally, I played it most when it still only had 3 acts. I still have a Mirror of Kalandra in hardcore legacy that I got during a 1 month league. The game is so massive nowadays its hard for new players to get into it. I think if it was a bit more accessible, it would be a lot more popular than it is. I'm really looking forward to PoE 2.

Surprised no mention of Pokemon for the 90’s. It’s hard to put into words how widespread and popular Pokemon was during the 90’s. Also, for Call of Duty, I’d say either Modern Warfare 1 or 2 was the game that catapulted the franchise into the mainstream, but I never really touched it so I’m going off memory
Ill take the Witcher 3 as the game of the decade, particularly if you include the expansions since they were even better than the main game. It was just an incredible game.
This might genre bias talking for me but Street Fighter 4 essentially ressurected the fighting game genre back in 2008. So for that decade of gaming I would put it high up there in terms of importance. And in a way, Street Fighter 6 is kinda doing the same thing this decade.
I think a game being transformative as well as popular is really necessary to earn the Game of The Decade title. Its harder for the 2000's and 2010's because a lot of the genres already have their defining game back in the 80's and 90's. Some of the only ones I can say definitely fit that criteria is Minecraft and maybe Isaac or Dark Souls.
I think WoW is also good one because although it didn't revolutionize the MMO genre, it had impacts on game design outside the MMO sphere, as well as being a massive cultural phenomenon.
for the 2010s undertale is for sure a MASSIVE competitor. It changed so many things about games and united practically the whole internet
"Biggest cultural impact" - gotta consider Pokemon Go. It changed how alot of my friends played games, they started going outside alot to catch Pokes.
Fortnight absolutely qualifies as the most transformative, but for all the wrong reasons.
It transformed live services, developed the social pressuring techniques to purchase on a large scale we just hadn't seen before.
It's transformative in the worst way possible.
Clash of clans was last decade's most transformative btw, again for bad reasons.
I will say that Clash of Clans isn't the game that goes anywhere near as far as other mobile games, such as its own sister game, Clash Royale. Sure, it started the fire, but it didn't go to the same lengths of greed as other mobile games.

In terms of first person, shooter, half-life would probably be the most influential because counterstrike was a mod of half life Which led to call of duty Multi player
Call of Duty didn't make an impact until it's fourth game, which is what introduced the multiplayer.
The triple shot stayed a triple shot but 2 to the front because of double shot and 1 to the right lik e normal

we need synergies, exclusive new hammers that have normal hammer requirements (like duo boons or legendaries) and if you manage to get all the hammers in a run, you get to fight daedalus (if modding enemies is even possible :,)...and he would erase your boons leaving you only with your hammers)
Best games from 2000s is maybe WoW but it probably with WC3 - DotA LoL both coming out of the custom map editor

I have never even heard of Alan Wake 2 before the Game of the Year nominations. I don't like any of the other nominees so i don't care about this Years GotY.
Armored Core 6 was easily my GotY and that was just from watching Playthroughs (i can't play it atm), so it would have probably been even better if i played it myself.
And my game of the decade would be Xenoblade Chronicles X since it's my favorite game of all time.

So I disagree. And I think that skyrim definitely beats out Minecraft. Just for the sole fact that skyrim basically started the hugest boom in game modding Ever, so many people basically got into game development because of the mod community around skyrim. And while there were people who modded Minecraft it just didn't have the impact that the skyrim mod community did

RDR2 game if the decade for me
By sales alone, I think Mario Kart 8 should def be in the running for Game of the Decade; it had a semi controversial expansion pack with some really good tracks (DK mountain in particular for me) and it has undeniable staying power for sales. That’s success over the long term

for me, game of the decade has to be Fortnite, its been "on top" for what 5+ years now and defined BR ganre in what it is today.
undertale had basically just as large of a rein and unlike fornite didnt have a massive group of people who also hated it. It united everyone.

TOTK is just glorified dlc, it's more of the same in regards to BOTW. BOTW is highly overrated. It's "open world", but the world is dead and empty. The shrines are boring copy paste. The combat is extremely boring, with Lynells being the challenge but their boring.
Nothing is even close to BG3 this year. Honestly previous winner's would struggle to compete against BG3.
