Suggestion for an upgrade 1. Keep the fan in the projector even if it increases the size 2. Using a macro lens, put the projector and vapour screen mechanism in the same box, making it look like a real watch, and able to put it on the wrist 3. For vapour screen use a 3D printed tubing which spreads the vapour along a line, increasing the area vapour covers to get a complete screen 👍
For V3 since you have to wear two watches to work it might be best to adapt it into a bracer, it will also allow you to add more features including fan. Almost like a 3d pip boy.
Past year, I was obsessed with the idea of creating a holographic projector for my Science Fair Project, but I just decided not to because the teacher said the project was optional and wouldn’t affect our grades. Now, I regret not trying to do it. I definitely love holograms 😍 Nice work! New suscriber here 🙌🏼
wow you really went to the computers just to make them your logo. I respect your effort and how pointless it was XD! edit: I forgot to compliment how amazing this project is! very creative and well thought out! keep up the amazing work
The vapor was a bit shaky.. I would recommend using the wind flow mechanics of a Dyson fan to increase the smoothness of the projecting screen on the watch. But im no scientist, so this may or may not work. Its worth a try though
Not really expecting to find anything even close to what I envisioned, I decided to search for this idea anyway. Then, I clicked on your video, and THIS BLEW IT OUT OF THE WATER! It's even better than what I imagined! I can't wait to make my own concept, with a few new improvements thanks to YOU!
Yeah but that's obvious just like in the movies, and the problem is that it stops at the surface of the glass meaning the glass would get in the way if people want it wider without a big object to focus on. The whole point is a freely projected interactive display which is pretty much done here, just narrow projection.
I thought of this idea in high school except pocket watch. Good to see someone is already creating it still. Love the natural vapor instead of just a plastic screen.
@@crazycodplayer11 or puts a cap over the top that has a larger surface area with small holes to spread the vapor out. that way you can keep it kinda compact.
Maybe it would help if the whole the vapor is coming out is altered so it’s more like a slit so the vapor comes out more pressurized and straight and not as wavy and so that it’s more of a flat screen to project onto
This is awesome and I don't know why people hitting the dislike button like can u do better than this guy. I just wanna say y'all watching this guys videos and leaving comments that he takes the time to go through just for u the least u can do is hit that like button 👍👍👍 💯
Hey man, love the project! I thought of a suggestion to get the wider screen, with minimal change to what you have now, possibly. If you were to add a small triangular shaped smoke holder (laying roughly, horizontally; the top of the triangle just above the current smoke output, and have the wider base facing away from the projector unit, and having that base angled slightly higher) that would allow the smoke to collect and disperse in a wider fashion. I believe this would also help with the gap between the two watches, allowing them to be closer, or even (given a slight redesign) a possibility of having it in a single watch. Just my two cents, keep up the great videos!
You could combine the two by putting an angled mirror in front of the projector to reflect the projection image upwards to the humidifier that you can put on top of the projector itself.. That way, its all in your wrist without the projector on your arm that's projecting the image horizontally.
this is actually incredible really you are going to make the first real movie quality projector watch at this rate love your vids, subbed, liked awesome bro you could improve this by exactly the ways you said. once thats done, i might as well make one myself! thx
I think instead of the water vapor you could use a bracelet that has a little screen on it that can collapse down into the bracelet when not in use. I would also suggest getting a leather sleeve and a heat sink with a cooler for the projector so it doesn't get too hot. and you would be able to have more battery life because you could fit more batteries on the sleeve.
Hi Jake, nice job as always. I think a good upgrade for the V2 holographic watch would be a transparent plastic cup over the JL logo that would unfold with the help of a servo and become projecting screen.
Genius ahead of the pack, that is this has been coffee time conversation for some time yet you prototyped a working Hologram watch, Adventures of a genius Realized...
Awesome tutorial I build one by myself and included the battery in the watch and made multiple nozzles for the water smoke thingy so the Thing that is shown is much bigger and clearer
Awesome man. Look.you should make a pop up ring with the vapors shooting out towards the middle of the ring so that all the vapors sit in the middle. Oh and you can use low density fluids instead of water. You did a great job.
another option for the screen is just replace the watch cover with a peice of plexi glass or something on a hinge that you can flip up, that way it's a clearer screen, transparent, and you have a working watch with it.
some athletes use sleeves for their forearms, not sure why, but perhaps you could connect the two devices in that way. allowing you to discreetly conceal the components. or at least spread them out so you can add heatsinks to the projector chipset. that could also allow a more reliable power or water source for the vaporizer. it wouldn't necessarily be more compact, but gen 3 could certainly have more style options with the added surface area. possibly with a zipper since you can't stretch the components? I know im rambling here, but this prototype of yours looks dope. I'm super interested in seeing the next version!
Bearded Gamer that was the same idea I had but with one nozzle so instead of bars as your idea would give it would be just a bit easier to see So what I’m saying is it would work better if it was something like a vacuum nozzle
i think you should make more of a cuff so that you will have more room to work in. Also if you could make the steam blow out closer to the projector I think it would display more of the image. An alternate idea is if you make this into a gauntlet and put steam vents on the knuckles or something. Plus you could store the water under the projector to act as a heat sync. I really enjoyed the video, keep up the good work.
Connect the 2 units as an arm piece to stabilize the image once creating a sheet screen. There could be a tank that could hold liquid to both cool the projector and fuel the screen, placed in the center of both units. Just my thoughts.
Oh wait that is a pretty good concept I was thinking how to line up atoms to display stuff on them, nice idea I give them a 10/10 for effort and creativity👏
I'm probably missing the joke but you wouldn't see anything. The vantablack would absorb all the light from the projector. It'd still be completely matte black.
u should try increasing the size of the nozzle so that it will shoot vapor over a more wide area and you can see the full image without having to constantly rotate your wrist. just a suggestion...Great invention!
Should make it a full arm band with the projector and watch all in one device and everything will stay inline and will have more rom for batterys and a fan or wate cooled becouse you need water anyways.
Try using glycerin and propylenglicol instead of water makes vapor way more dense. It is what ecig or vapes use 😊 amazing video keep it up greetings from Colombia.
I would try changing the shape of the output for the vapor, thus making it more of a flat screen then a circular screen. Possibly use some type of thin bar to hold the projector to the vaporizer at the perfect angle (also makes it easier to put on)
You should add a bigger smoke screen and add like a cooling system to the watch then it will be much much better and if people don't want to use the smoke add like a flip up white paper or plastic then the watch can project on to it
I think you should try changing your approach to these kinds of projects (holographic images). Instead of projecting light onto a screen of smoke or vapor, it might be useful to look into some powerful lasers. If you build an adapted outlet where the light comes out of the laser-pen-thing, you can make the laser thicker and shorter and simply shoot it up out of the watch without the need of fog screens. I know that barely makes any sense but hopefully you understand what I mean.
amazing man!! small idea for u. you could add a pipe sistem that could distribute the smoke to make a screen. what I mean is a pipe coming out of the vapour hole, than then becomes a sort of trident. amazing job though
Maybe aluminum heatsink should be added to the projector just reduce the heat. Just a thought. Still, this and pretty much all of your projects are incredible. Long time subscriber and fan.
This is totally impractical but imagine if he could funnel the water vapor produced from the front "watch" and used it to cool the projector with evaporative cooling.
Use silicone rubber to act as a heat barrier. That solved, you need a dispersion effect on your vapor. Idea; furnaces use nozzles to vaporize liquid fuel and precisely disperse it for optimal ignition. Your setup already has vapor and (supersonic) pressure. Now it needs that precise spray pattern. If you can disassemble one of these oil burner nozzles, you would really only need to utilize the two parts at the tip. Put those right over your vapor orifice and it should give you what you're looking for. These nozzles are readily available at your local hardware store, and are marked by degree of spray, which may provide useful. They are SMALL, which is key to this project.
All this guy needs is a bigger budget, I honestly think this tech can replace most tasks we use on cellphone ie we can use it to get quick info. All he has to do is to make everything smaller and compact.
I was thinking that I've seen vapor cigarettes put out a lot more vapor than that. If you could rig an e-cigarette with a cartridge full of nothing but water, and something like one of those small CO2 cartridges made for an air BB gun, pumping air through, you could probably get a lot more vapor. If you could force it through something that fans that out it would create a better holographic screen which would last longer. Also to solve your heat issue, why not get one of those phones with a built-in projector already in it? You could strap that to your arm and it would save you a lot of soldering plus eliminate the heat problem. Great video thanks 👍
neat, id like to say some things though. The fog/vapour could be spread on bottom to better display projection, projector and fog maker can be in one box instead of 2 separate ones, fog comes out and projector displays inage from an angle.
If you are going to 3d print the watch.... Why make them separate... just make it all one unit it would look sleeker and easier to build in. Heck you could even build a water chamber that the wick leads to making it easy to refill without needing to disassemble it. Most importantly it will always hit it's Mark and you don't need to worry about twisting your arm to get/keep the focus. Also for v3 I recommend sanding down the printed plastic so it looks solid and not as sloppy. 3D printing is amazing.. but perfect to form right out just doesn't happen especially in budget ones. All that being said this was pretty coool

You could make a wider nozzle or something to stop it from coming out so fast

If I can recommend, I would add some straws to the to the steam maker to widen the fog screen
How would that work?
Just curious on how to make the screen bigger too
