Wow, that is a problem I have done, stop the strip set and lost fish as it's still swimming toward me. Is there a good way to practice this on the lawn when I practice casting? To lock that don't stop strip setting in my DNA?
One thing that can work is to extend your rod hand. It feels awkward but if you keep it out there you'll naturally pull on the line more than jerk up from what I've seen. And try to strip 5 feet of line not 1 foot
@@alexlafkasfishing Right, I normally have my elbow near my side as I swim a streamer and don't have additional reach to pull back and stop stripping once I feel weight. I will work on improving that as you mentioned and strip in 5 ft plus. to insure I have fish buttoned up. Thanks.
Great video, thanks!
