I feel we are still inchoate, but with profound effort can ace the GRE. At first, the words felt like enigma but with such a didactic teacher which is pithy with examples anyone can feel sanguine about their GRE prep. Thank you teacher.

I also just came back from the GRE test (first time, initial points verbal 160). I prepared for it the last two days, and I listened to this video twice (also I watched gregmat´s essay organization and reading techniques). Even if these words would have not been in the test, knowing them helps to use the elimination technique and deduce other words by their root. Biggest tip I have to give to all of you who are like me don´t really study for various possible reasons, at least check out instructions HOW to read GRE sentences! They are tricky, and you need to be quick to understand if the correct word is supporting or contradicting or positive/negative. By knowing whether you are searching for a negative or a positive word everything gets so much easier. Even if your time runs out, at least guess! you might get a lucky point when otherwise the question would be left unanswered. Good luck everyone!

I’ve been preparing for the GRE test for more than 3 months now, and as other people suggest, my biggest problem is also vocab. An extremely useful approach to learning new words I’ve used is sticking the word lists on a wall near my desktop. That way I get to see them everyday and practice them by speaking and writing. I also highlight those words I’m struggling with to put a bit extra attention to them. I’m watching this video and it appears pretty realistic, the words are actual vocab words you’ll find consistently in other online resources. So, thank you Sr, from my standpoint you work is laudable!

Thanks so much. I have been building my vocabulary bank and learning to write. But I am not clear how to use the words in my memory to write and speak. So I think maybe I could start with some frequently used words, both academic or colloquial, in my writing or speaking. Is it a effective way to really master words. Could you give me some suggestions?

I aimed to be very strict in the words that I knew the meanings of and whittled it down to 56.....one of the hardest parts is admitting youre not totally ofay and accurate enough on certain words and relearning their true meanings.
Just because you know the word doesn't mean you really understand the word well and to be confident enough to add and enhance one's vocabulary.

@@TheTestedTutor It's like marking ones homework. 😉 I first got a thirst for words when my late mother used to hand me down her copies of readers digest magazine... I'd pore over the word power section religiously and attempt the challenge. Peter Funk was the main contributer to the feature and I've managed to download his book Word Power over 30 years later.
Your videos are so on the money. Thank you teacher. 👌

Obsequious - sometimes celebrities are so used to obsequious people that noone stops them when they are about to make a glaringly terrible mistake
Capricous- one of the main characteristics people think of when they think of a bipolar person 😅
