In this game bandit beating is a choice. I also caught myself bandit beating and realised, I quit every other game that forced me to kill the same npcs over and over. I legit did some exploring, treasure hunting and ship battling, and I got all the experience needed. The bandit beating part is for people that don't know how to do anything else and are used to it (If you farm repeatable quests you are bandit beater player).

You may argue that the game features enemies that aren't unique, however you're wrong. Also the fact that story has level requirements, doesn't mean that to reach said level you need to do the same quest over and over, in fact the game encourages you to do different quests and not do one quest over and over, using exploration quests and the bonus exp you get from completing every quest on an island.

Lemme give my 2 cents rq 1. About the thing where it gets good after 4 hrs. Tbh this is common af. This is how I felt grinding bandits at lower erisia and being too weak to fight sharkos and golems. Both games got fun later in game. 2. You dont really have to grind the bandits at frostmill. I explored other islands and got their quests, plus vetex added extra quests in frostmill so you dont have to spam that quest 3. Editing the magic needs magic level 20 not level 20, so it is realistically only lvl 10. Which doesnt tqke an hour to do
YEAH, you can CHOOSE to grind Frostmill bandits but you don't HAVE to, game encourages you to explore as completing exploration tasks is a crazy way to earn XP
About number 3 even though that’s true most people have the belief early on that all the stats or most will be meaningful like a regular rpg ya know you put a bit into health or strength and a good bit in magic so it’s most likely that early on players won’t hit the reqs as easily as it could be
For this game, you sort of have to plan a bit ahead of how you want to play. From what I see, it is likely you will go down the Warrior route, using mainly weapons and what not. I went in mostly blind, with the barebones intention of becoming a Warlock who punches the hell out of people with explosion imbued fists. It took me about 2 days to find a good way to work around the build I wanted. Lucky me. There is quite a lot to do, its just that you seem mostly focused on the combat and fighting aspect of the game, rather than the travel and exploration, which are an intentional part of the game. Ship speeds are also set to be fairly slow in order to keep newer players stuck in certain areas, until they get faster ships. Right now, I am travelling the world, going island to island fighting my rival, who is some Warlord guy. Which is sick, cause he keeps getting new gear to try out against me. This rival, is an npc. Every now and then, the newspaper publishes about the 'immense battle' that took place on [Insert Island] between me and rival. I think to enjoy this game, you gotta take things a bit differently. Arcane Odyssey is not meant to be centered around any certain aspect or element. Vetex's intentions were to make it possible to play the game in many different ways. Many players who get into this, get excited by travelling the world to discover new islands, find treasures, to help people, or to destroy the world. There are also those, who get excited by potential, the potential of becoming incredibly powerful. My main goal, is to realise my fullest potential in that game. To become as powerful as I can, while maintaining the focus on my playstyle of punching people with explosive fists. Travelling the world, and experiencing whatever it offers is a great bonus. It will be very difficult to play if you focus more so on what you can do, rather than on, what you will be able to do.
I do understand why you think the game is overrated but, the game is meant for an audience that likes slow paced games. What I mean by that is that you aren't supposed to finish the game in a few days unless you skip the story line or just do the quests without exploring. Also, not saying that the game is bad or good. I am just saying that the game is for a certain audience.
The thing that makes this game interesting, is that there are a lot more ways to level up than bandit beating. You can start building a crew in a big ship to start pirate hunting, or you can do cargo/exploring quests. There is so much things that you can do it does not make it boring.
Im 10 hours in and it got good by hour 5, your points are valid, but combat gets better so much sooner. You unlock weapon arts, fighting styles, and all of that by reaching strength requirements, and the first fighting style can be obtained at level 15. Not to mention, magic is a choice in this game. The magic system is lacking in some aspects, but it's still a choice to opt for magic, instead of a weapon build, which later you get abilities for. Bosses also ramp up a ton, as the first real story boss, once you get to the sky island, took me several tries as it was actually a challenge. It doesn't take 10 hours to get good, or experience a good story, just put in more than an hour or two of gameplay, come into the next game session with an open mind, and you might actually enjoy it.
Also not criticizing you as a person, just trying to get you to enjoy it as its one of my favorite games on roblox in a long while, as roblox has been dry lately.

arcane odyssey isn't only magic you can create many other builds also you need to invest in points to use certain magic, the bosses in the beginning are usually easy I will admit, I'm pretty sure it's the later bosses that are more difficult which could be soloed if you play your cards right
Elius for his point at game is hard enough actually Argos can be a difficult boss... if you didnt learn how to dash and block yet Elius's sister is VERY problematic boss with her running around the plains like freakin monkey so its hard to hit her+her regen can be problem if you dont land hits consistently Calvus... Calvus is who he is,final challenge and check of all what you should've learned through journey to Level 100
I enjoy Arcane Odyssey, but the ONE thing that stops this game from being good is a small detail that was in World of Magic. What is that you might ask? Well it's obviously brutally and aggressively murdering civilians. I was shocked to discover that the killing of the townsfolk was not a feature. I practically *shat* my pants and *pissed* them as well, simply from knowing that these NPC's had background character plot armor which disgusted me greatly. Now, some more _experienced_ players will say that castaways exist and I can kill them. Castaways?! CATAWAYS!?! Next thing your going to tell me is that this game has an ocean. Either way, the blood of homeless bums on rafts is not enough to quench my thirst for destruction of the capital of Narnia and all who inhabit it's filthy land. However, this cannot be done. In short: Don't play this game if you came expecting the slaughtering of innocent men.
Unlike Deepwoken, I can play this game without being wiped by someone who has played the game for so long that they have learned how to parry their Dad's belt combos

If your using a boat with a sail, the boat can still move without your character being at the steering wheel, if your not at the steering wheel you can access your GUIs while the boat is moving. It’s a little workaround the not being able to access your GUIs annoyance.

I feel like level 1-20 go by quick, so the customization isn't really a concern. You're gonna be pretty occupied with doing the story, which I believe makes up for the magic locks. I do agree that maybe there should be some changes, but as I said, it's not too big of a deal when you are already occupied with the story. I also feel like the whole M1 situation is resolved when you make it to Lord Elius (around 2-3 hours or so into the game.) The game becomes more strategic, however, I do agree. It can be somewhat stale at the beginning. Parrying and blocking can spice things up a bit. Also, if you do it correctly, the level 40 requirement can be done easily in less than an hour, no matter how boring it is. I do find this part of the game kind of bad, so I agree with you on that part. Your problems with the game are REALLY EARLY ON which I feel makes them somewhat unfair. I can see how you would be troubled by the time, but 2-3 hours isn't too long to invest in my honest opinion (or I could just be chronically online lmfao). Parries can be seen as a way to stun enemies. I do find your complaints valid though.
Theres also one thing, im at level 124 at my second playthrough as a apprentice conjurerer, how do i set spawn?! i want to go kill argos for his loot yet when i leave the game and rejoin it sets me near ravenna, like what the hail, its boring going there with a durability 150 caravel with such slow speeds

@@BizaahYT i defeated ALL the Bosses without using stat points (only 30 in Magic and 45 in weapon) until i got my awakening and put ALL my stat points in weapon (220 weapon and 30 in Magic) so i think you just have skill issue
@@BizaahYT not that the game has a high skill ceiling that you need to master, but you can beat any boss through using your magic basic attack blast, since it scales off of level (and realistically the ONLY good magic skill that's viable) and that the bosses have downtimes where you can attack for free
@@burger9788 well in my Warlock build i only use the blast and the explosion from my Magic and focus only in my thermo Fist (thermo Fist + explosion Magic) and It worked with conjurer doing what i did cuz i got more weapon skills just like from the greatdword and i can upgrade my weapon lvl and still be able to use it
You can sort out your magic, equipment and everything while on your boat... Just stop controlling the ship and it will sail on its own. Then you can edit everything.

The reason ur not allowed to check ur stats or magic or anything while driving is because the game (and vetex) doesn’t want u to be distracted, ESPECIALLY since if u crash into something without knowing, ur ship gonna lose health and even possibly die. It’s like texting/using ur phone while driving. The game is avoiding u from being distracted, but when ur not driving (not piloting the boat and letting it sail on its own) then it allows u to check ur magic and stats because ur not driving (like being a passenger in a car)

Some actual good points now. The game is more about exploration or play with friends, and what i've seen, some people need to read the trello, learn about the game at ouside sources, might be a problem for a game but i don't mind it. Like you though stats actually give more damage, no, it only makes you learn more skills to get damage you need enchanted items or level up. For example: to get explosion spell you need 30 magic if i'm not wrong, same to fighting styles and weapons. Other players might make better points than me if they don't insult you cuz my brain has been rotted by Casual games and Blox fruits clones.

One thing about the magic is the smaller the blast size and explosion, the more damage it will do. Also about editing spells and your inventory on boats, you can. If your sails are out the boat keeps going. You don't have to stay at the wheel.

the last boss called king calvus cannot be soloed but you need like lvl 100 or smt to fight it and the requirment to get some kind of lvl to progress is just for you to not suffer from the enemies which you are gonna meet.
He CAN be soloed, but you REALLY gotta learn the moveset. If he's charging his AoE Pillar move DO NOT LET HIM FULLY CHARGE IT OR YOU'LL TAKE 1500 DAMAGE TO THE FACE

yeah I legitimately did not know what he was on about, at least at the start, the dinghy definitely takes more than a minute to get to lower erisia from vigil, and don't even get me started on going all the way to trial of one when you haven't done it for the first time, that was basically the reason why i couldn't get into the game.

i disagree with ur "difficulty spikes dont make a game good".I think that difficulty spikes are a great method to encourage the player to explore more, gather items and try different game mechanics(eg. ship combat, treasure charts) + if you are stuck on that boss, when you finally deafeat him it'll be so rewarding knowing that all the exploration you did to gather new items paid off

AO is good there is a lot of replayability, after reaching level 125 warlock with discord light mode boxing gloves, i went for another playthrough and my build is Conjurer with Poison as my magic ability, since the idea of lance of loyalty with the awakening and poison is probably stackable as hell, this will shred bosses most likely.
The problem isn't the game its the genre, your an intellectual, you like to constantly be given tasks or have things to do and you don't like doing nothing. But the controls thing is completely justified. Give us hotkeys controls.

Alright here's my take on the game, since I am a player who can say when a game is ass or not too difficult or not. Arcane Odyssey ain't bad but it isn't the best, definitely overhyped. The bosses when you first start are frustrating for those who aren't too skilled at the game because well, they aren't like the bandits they just killed so it shocks them. And I'll admit the game can be boring at times but other times VERY ENGAGING, The 4rth boss still has me sweat whenever I fight him, and I need to fight him to get special items. And the game has updated so you can't just gank all the bosses with your friends, THE BOSSES HP FUCKING INCREASES TO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE IT'S ORIGINAL AND MULTIPLIES BASED ON HOW MANY PLAYERS HE'S AGGRO'D ON, and the parry mechanic is weird but I guess it works for this game, I feel like there are SOME things that stun but not too many that really count for it. I guess for short, the gameplay is alright, the beginning just sucks and the developer's will probably fix that, I have played the game twice now and there's a difference once you reach level 50. and it feels immense, it isn't too bad I suppose but it definitely feels crazy. and in short short summary: Game ok, would play again.
The reason why bosses get more hp the more players there are is because aslong as one person is alive, the rest of your party can still join in after dying

bruh really said "multiple hours of gameplay" to reach lvl 20 like bruh you can do that in 10 min if you ignore story and at the most 30 mins if you do follow the story.
The game gave me huge Blox Fruit vibes which is why I gave up on it after 20 minutes or so. Looking back I'm kinda glad I did otherwise I would be reconsidering my decisions just as I did when I stopped playing Blox Fruit.

I begun playing the game since World of Magic, the only builds there were magic and weapon, weapons were way too bad, for example, arrows could be destroyed with any magic blast i think, the idea of this game is to give more freedom, making most of the builds balanced and have their own charm (i still dont know what vitallity is for lol)

So a few counter points, first of all how did you beat Iris by spamming m1s, I would never be able to get away with such a dumb plan even at level 30, at most I would be like 300 damage before dying but I guess the first 2 bosses are really not a good representation of the other bosses, more like enemies with more health and damage. Secondly the grind from Iris to level 40 is not that bad for two reasons, It's very short and makes a absolutely miniscule percentage of your playtime, I think it took me like 30-60 minutes to do it which yes is already way to much time for what you would expect from the game but then again you could have chosen a more fun way to level up by literally doing anything else that helps you increase a certain stat in some way like fishing or cooking. Third argument if you lose to the third boss and decide to level up somewhere else for about a few hours of course you are going to beat it since you are now over levelled and have way too much health and damage, the first time I fought that boss I was expecting the same thing as the 2 previous bosses, die 3-4 times cause you were trying to dodge and parry every 80% of the attacks but this one was different, I lost many, many times against them but I eventually managed to prevail through skill and learning their attacks and now when to attack correctly. Oh yeah and the reason the space between islands is so huge is because you shouldn't be able to see other islands from the island you are on and because if the islands were too close cargo delivery would be 3x more overpowered than it already is.

The thing that makes this game interesting, is that there are a lot more ways to level up than bandit beating. You can start building a crew in a big ship to start pirate hunting, or you can do cargo/exploring quests. There is so much things that you can do it does not make it boring.
Im 10 hours in and it got good by hour 5, your points are valid, but combat gets better so much sooner. You unlock weapon arts, fighting styles, and all of that by reaching strength requirements, and the first fighting style can be obtained at level 15. Not to mention, magic is a choice in this game. The magic system is lacking in some aspects, but it's still a choice to opt for magic, instead of a weapon build, which later you get abilities for. Bosses also ramp up a ton, as the first real story boss, once you get to the sky island, took me several tries as it was actually a challenge. It doesn't take 10 hours to get good, or experience a good story, just put in more than an hour or two of gameplay, come into the next game session with an open mind, and you might actually enjoy it.
Also not criticizing you as a person, just trying to get you to enjoy it as its one of my favorite games on roblox in a long while, as roblox has been dry lately.

So your complaint about lvl 20-40 is kinda true, but it’s more fun and way easier to explore islands or solve treasure quests, you gain exp from practically everything
arcane odyssey isn't only magic you can create many other builds also you need to invest in points to use certain magic, the bosses in the beginning are usually easy I will admit, I'm pretty sure it's the later bosses that are more difficult which could be soloed if you play your cards right
Elius for his point at game is hard enough actually
Argos can be a difficult boss... if you didnt learn how to dash and block yet
Elius's sister is VERY problematic boss with her running around the plains like freakin monkey so its hard to hit her+her regen can be problem if you dont land hits consistently
Calvus... Calvus is who he is,final challenge and check of all what you should've learned through journey to Level 100
I enjoy Arcane Odyssey, but the ONE thing that stops this game from being good is a small detail that was in World of Magic.
What is that you might ask? Well it's obviously brutally and aggressively murdering civilians. I was shocked to discover that the killing of the townsfolk was not a feature.
I practically *shat* my pants and *pissed* them as well, simply from knowing that these NPC's had background character plot armor which disgusted me greatly.
Now, some more _experienced_ players will say that castaways exist and I can kill them. Castaways?! CATAWAYS!?! Next thing your going to tell me is that this game has an ocean.
Either way, the blood of homeless bums on rafts is not enough to quench my thirst for destruction of the capital of Narnia and all who inhabit it's filthy land. However, this cannot be done.
In short: Don't play this game if you came expecting the slaughtering of innocent men.

If your using a boat with a sail, the boat can still move without your character being at the steering wheel, if your not at the steering wheel you can access your GUIs while the boat is moving. It’s a little workaround the not being able to access your GUIs annoyance.
Important to make sure you don’t crash into anything or your boat takes damage

I feel like level 1-20 go by quick, so the customization isn't really a concern. You're gonna be pretty occupied with doing the story, which I believe makes up for the magic locks. I do agree that maybe there should be some changes, but as I said, it's not too big of a deal when you are already occupied with the story. I also feel like the whole M1 situation is resolved when you make it to Lord Elius (around 2-3 hours or so into the game.)
The game becomes more strategic, however, I do agree. It can be somewhat stale at the beginning. Parrying and blocking can spice things up a bit. Also, if you do it correctly, the level 40 requirement can be done easily in less than an hour, no matter how boring it is. I do find this part of the game kind of bad, so I agree with you on that part. Your problems with the game are REALLY EARLY ON which I feel makes them somewhat unfair. I can see how you would be troubled by the time, but 2-3 hours isn't too long to invest in my honest opinion (or I could just be chronically online lmfao).
Parries can be seen as a way to stun enemies. I do find your complaints valid though.
Only good argument is distance between islands that wastes a lot of your time, other arguments are dogwater

@@BizaahYT i defeated ALL the Bosses without using stat points (only 30 in Magic and 45 in weapon) until i got my awakening and put ALL my stat points in weapon (220 weapon and 30 in Magic) so i think you just have skill issue

@@BizaahYT not that the game has a high skill ceiling that you need to master, but you can beat any boss through using your magic basic attack blast, since it scales off of level (and realistically the ONLY good magic skill that's viable) and that the bosses have downtimes where you can attack for free
@@burger9788 well in my Warlock build i only use the blast and the explosion from my Magic and focus only in my thermo Fist (thermo Fist + explosion Magic) and It worked with conjurer doing what i did cuz i got more weapon skills just like from the greatdword and i can upgrade my weapon lvl and still be able to use it

You can sort out your magic, equipment and everything while on your boat... Just stop controlling the ship and it will sail on its own. Then you can edit everything.

The reason ur not allowed to check ur stats or magic or anything while driving is because the game (and vetex) doesn’t want u to be distracted, ESPECIALLY since if u crash into something without knowing, ur ship gonna lose health and even possibly die. It’s like texting/using ur phone while driving. The game is avoiding u from being distracted, but when ur not driving (not piloting the boat and letting it sail on its own) then it allows u to check ur magic and stats because ur not driving (like being a passenger in a car)

That's the point of it. I personally enjoy the trip between islands and it gives me some time to relax, but at the same time you can look back and find a huge pirate ship coming for you.

Some actual good points now. The game is more about exploration or play with friends, and what i've seen, some people need to read the trello, learn about the game at ouside sources, might be a problem for a game but i don't mind it.
Like you though stats actually give more damage, no, it only makes you learn more skills to get damage you need enchanted items or level up. For example: to get explosion spell you need 30 magic if i'm not wrong, same to fighting styles and weapons. Other players might make better points than me if they don't insult you cuz my brain has been rotted by Casual games and Blox fruits clones.

One thing about the magic is the smaller the blast size and explosion, the more damage it will do. Also about editing spells and your inventory on boats, you can. If your sails are out the boat keeps going. You don't have to stay at the wheel.

the last boss called king calvus cannot be soloed but you need like lvl 100 or smt to fight it and the requirment to get some kind of lvl to progress is just for you to not suffer from the enemies which you are gonna meet.
king calvus is pretty easy to solo with full mage
He CAN be soloed, but you REALLY gotta learn the moveset. If he's charging his AoE Pillar move DO NOT LET HIM FULLY CHARGE IT OR YOU'LL TAKE 1500 DAMAGE TO THE FACE
You can solo king calvus with every class that does damage (Probably not warden)
You can't even get warden as a build its true once you get a certain amount of vitality points it wont let you put anymore

i disagree with ur "difficulty spikes dont make a game good".I think that difficulty spikes are a great method to encourage the player to explore more, gather items and try different game mechanics(eg. ship combat, treasure charts) + if you are stuck on that boss, when you finally deafeat him it'll be so rewarding knowing that all the exploration you did to gather new items paid off

AO is good there is a lot of replayability, after reaching level 125 warlock with discord light mode boxing gloves, i went for another playthrough and my build is Conjurer with Poison as my magic ability, since the idea of lance of loyalty with the awakening and poison is probably stackable as hell, this will shred bosses most likely.
i'm pretty sure lance of loyalty is a strength weapon meaning it can only be properly used by warlords

Alright here's my take on the game, since I am a player who can say when a game is ass or not too difficult or not.
Arcane Odyssey ain't bad but it isn't the best, definitely overhyped.
The bosses when you first start are frustrating for those who aren't too skilled at the game because well, they aren't like the bandits they just killed so it shocks them.
And I'll admit the game can be boring at times but other times VERY ENGAGING, The 4rth boss still has me sweat whenever I fight him, and I need to fight him to get special items.
And the game has updated so you can't just gank all the bosses with your friends, THE BOSSES HP FUCKING INCREASES TO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE IT'S ORIGINAL AND MULTIPLIES BASED ON HOW MANY PLAYERS HE'S AGGRO'D ON, and the parry mechanic is weird but I guess it works for this game, I feel like there are SOME things that stun but not too many that really count for it.
I guess for short, the gameplay is alright, the beginning just sucks and the developer's will probably fix that, I have played the game twice now and there's a difference once you reach level 50. and it feels immense, it isn't too bad I suppose but it definitely feels crazy.
and in short short summary: Game ok, would play again.

bruh really said "multiple hours of gameplay" to reach lvl 20 like bruh you can do that in 10 min if you ignore story and at the most 30 mins if you do follow the story.
The game gave me huge Blox Fruit vibes which is why I gave up on it after 20 minutes or so. Looking back I'm kinda glad I did otherwise I would be reconsidering my decisions just as I did when I stopped playing Blox Fruit.

I begun playing the game since World of Magic, the only builds there were magic and weapon, weapons were way too bad, for example, arrows could be destroyed with any magic blast i think, the idea of this game is to give more freedom, making most of the builds balanced and have their own charm (i still dont know what vitallity is for lol)

So a few counter points, first of all how did you beat Iris by spamming m1s, I would never be able to get away with such a dumb plan even at level 30, at most I would be like 300 damage before dying but I guess the first 2 bosses are really not a good representation of the other bosses, more like enemies with more health and damage. Secondly the grind from Iris to level 40 is not that bad for two reasons, It's very short and makes a absolutely miniscule percentage of your playtime, I think it took me like 30-60 minutes to do it which yes is already way to much time for what you would expect from the game but then again you could have chosen a more fun way to level up by literally doing anything else that helps you increase a certain stat in some way like fishing or cooking. Third argument if you lose to the third boss and decide to level up somewhere else for about a few hours of course you are going to beat it since you are now over levelled and have way too much health and damage, the first time I fought that boss I was expecting the same thing as the 2 previous bosses, die 3-4 times cause you were trying to dodge and parry every 80% of the attacks but this one was different, I lost many, many times against them but I eventually managed to prevail through skill and learning their attacks and now when to attack correctly. Oh yeah and the reason the space between islands is so huge is because you shouldn't be able to see other islands from the island you are on and because if the islands were too close cargo delivery would be 3x more overpowered than it already is.
