I got a print from MPIX and it’s very color accurate to what I had in mind and what I had edited. The clarity especially since I got the 60” x 40“ print blows me away. Maybe it’s just the way picture files work on my iPad or on my phone I’ve done some pixel peeping and zooming in on them and compare it to the size of the print and on screen it does not appear to be as clear as the actual print itself. I am again blown away by the quality of the print.. I also like the way it looks in the frame that came with it. I did order it printed and mounted in a frame, and the quality of the entire thing is just amazing.
4:18 The spectrum of light you are viewing your photos in will change the look of the print. You were viewing your prints in a dark room. The colors will be more muted as a result. The proper lighting for judging prints is D50 lighting. This is why museums light their art with specific lighting conditions. It’s like a black light and clothing. Since the black light only has some of the color spectrum, that is all you see. Other colors disappear or are muted.
Congrats Reimann! This was a great comparison for people looking to print their own work, and now all the tweets make sense! 🤣 I think you also made the right choice with your decision, those prints came out rather nicely, I would say! 👏
Congrats on the print store, Reimann! Will be checking it out. Nice comparison of three print services too, been thinking of getting some prints, myself
Hello! Should I also apply your review for standard photo prints (4x6s)? Ever since my local Costco, Target, and (most) Walmart closed their in-person photo print stations of my childhood, I have no clue where to turn to. My iPhone 14 Pro Max captured some awesome photos on my recent EuroTrip. All I wanna do is print standard photo prints (4x6s) & posters (RIP Aaron Bros.) to hang in my room. Any tips on where I can order high quality print jobs? Printque? I'd appreciate you advice. Thank you! :)
Hi! I think any of these should be able to make decent 4x6 prints. It's just a matter of what type of paper and colors you like. I would maybe get a test print from a few different places and pick your favorite :)
I was looking for how Printique shipped and you answered it from the beginning of the video. However, this video was so good - so super clear and informative - had to finish it :). Congrats on the store.
Ahhh congrats on the launch Reimann! And lol this was not at all the video I was expecting from the stories haha. I thought this was going to be a bts or something of the pictures in that story and I was really interested in those water lilies. Nevertheless enjoyed the print comparison anyway hehe!🤗
Tested MPIX, and National Photo Lab. MPIX no issues. NPL very inconsistent in some photos coming out very dark. Contacted them and got a standard answer it's my monitor settings. Mine are set brightness/contrast at 45%. I told them SOME are dark Those were "redone" - ok , but again inconsistent. Anyone else have this issue.
This video was great man I really appreciate how informative you made each topic for each lab. Do you have any experience with nations photo lab at all and if so, how would you compare that lab to the 3 labs that you covered a both in this video ?
Also I wanted to ask you this but do you use a colorimeter at all when it comes to your monitors and editing process or do you not have any experience in that ?
@@ReimannPembroke So when you sent your prints off, were those just your normal edits that you did on your monitors or even your laptop ? and if so, how accurate did those prints look compared to what you saw on your actual screen when you were editing them ?
I really appreciate this review. I'm new to film photography and i was wondering what type of film you used for those pictures and which ones you recommend to start with. Thanks!
This picture was taken on Fuji Pro400H which is discontinued. I would recommend starting with something like Kodak Ultramax 400. It’s easy to find and pretty forgiving!
I was going to print with Mpix for my first photography exhibition ever, but after watching this I'm think about going for Printique... do you think this is a better choice?
I’m glad you found it useful!👍🏼 I bet local shops are where differences become much more noticeable! I would imagine the printing equipment and processes these services use are very similar to each other while local shops may differ in how they print and what they use to print
please comment on EASE of working with their websites/updloading images/options/and seeing what you want before placing order. EXample Printique site will not allow you to directly upload photo from your computer ?

Hahaha yeah I thought the video and print store might take people by surprise! I should do a bts video of the Koi pond!

I was pretty happy with printique! I would say to get test prints before if it’s for an exhibition!
Nice your own printstore! The selection of images is also very well done. This is definitely a good way to support you as a creator!
Yeah I’m excited about it! I’m glad you liked the photos I picked out :)
Very useful video. I wonder how the different companies would compare to a local photo printing shop?

How does nations photo lab compare?
I don't have any experience with Nations Photo Lab so I am not sure. I will let you know if I ever use them though!
Thank you!
No problem! Glad it was helpful!
Did you request color correction when ordering?
I did not make any specific requests so the prints just came as they would normally come from each place as far as I’m aware
I know mpix and printiqe uses the traditional wet prints
This is good to know!
Walgreens is my go to
😂😂
Did you use printques color correction?
I don’t think so? I don’t remember selecting it as an option
Can you do one on black and white
Oooh this is a good idea! I’ll see if I can do a vid in the future!

I like flex mid video.
Ok so which ones is the best overall!?
They were pretty comparable! I liked printique overall!
How about nations photo lab?
ρɾσɱσʂɱ 😢
Printique is awful and especially if you’re thinking of printing black and white .
So what do you recommend?
I got BW prints from bayphoto .
Yea what do you recommend
So clearly you're just a troll since you haven't provided any insight as to why. Completely useless. And I stress useless. 🤣👎
