Hey everyone, if you want to change the names of businesses (or even people) like I did in this video with the ThatBoyWags grill, all you have to do is go under your PC files in this order. AppData - Locallow - ColePoweredGames - Shadows of Doubt - Cities. In the cities folder, find your city, and then it's just as simple as opening the file and replacing all instances of that business in your world with whatever name you like. Hope that helps because I thought it was pretty cool!
I recently had a case that was total madness. He ended up killing 5 people... But there was NO connection. No work related suspects or the same building. It was just random... People kept getting murdered and I couldn't connect the dots at all. I had the killers print from murder #1 as well! Eventually on the 5th murder I managed to snag him on CCTV for like a second and got him. That one almost killed me. I still feel that my shoddy detective work got 4 people killed. This game rules.
Definitely need a good murder like this for one of the videos. Too often it seems like the first connection I check ends up being the murderer which often times is frustrating, because I want cases that really make me work for it. That's awesome you ended up figuring out who it was tho.. despite 5 people dying 😂
Yo, I had a stalker case that was almost exactly that problem. He managed to kill 3 people (and I traumatized two former partners with false arrests, and arrested a third innocent) No connections (The ones I came across were ALL wrong), nothing but a height and gender to go off of, murder was poison and not a trackable gun, every single bit of graffiti was across shelves or something so I couldn't tell what any of it meant... I was reduced to scanning CCTV footage of a bar while freezing to death outside and pegging every single face I could find and asking around for them only to be let down every time... Until I had a lucky break. I walked into a general store and saw that this perfectly innocent store sold rat poison... I asked the man uf he saw anyone suspicious that day. He pointed out the apartment next door. And just as I reached that floor and noticed a CCTV in there and a security room and thought "Score, I'll have his face for SURE!"...When all of the sudden, I heard "Help! Enforcers! Help!" and the grate came down. I had arrived before the cops. So I ran to the door, got permission to investigate (So the cops would leave me alone too), and finally got more prints, an actual good look at the graffiti, and as I turned around...I noticed another face in the apartment. I entered the bedroom and turned on the light annnnd- There was a man glitched into a filing cabinet. I closed the field and he started to run. I snapped a picture, he attacked. I cuffed him. Aaaaand it was the guy. Caught by a lucky break and a glitch after 3 whole murders. Hilariously, I checked the camera footage later, and somehow the guy got inside while dodging the camera. I would have been utterly screwed if he hadn't glitched. XD

I don't mind how long they take to make, I just want to make sure people still enjoy them all the same. I feel like I've shown a lot of the same stuff for the past few videos and I don't want people feeling they're getting repetitive. Definitely can't wait for new murders, side jobs, and NPC dialogue.

Deciding you need to make a phone call, breaking into someone's house, and going right past the phone they have to steal a bunch of stuff to pay for a phone call you don't end up making is such a good bit.

In Germany there is a radio play about 3 adolescent detectives and their city is called "Rocky Beach". Already named a city in Shadows of Doubt like that but maybe you wanna try too ^^

Been thinking about the same thing. Might go back and forth every other episode with a new city, and then keep playing in the same one. Still deciding on where to take the channel next honestly.
Just downloaded the game today. My first case that im doing properly (the rest im sad to say i gave up on because they were all echelon so it was just too much of a nightmare for a first playthrough) the only lead ive got are 2 sets of fingerprints and an email saying theyre being followed by "short black...". Checked their work and no one in the employee files has short black hair, out of the 8 names on their address book, 2 of them are on the city hall database and neither of their fingerprints match those at the scene. Feel like this one is gonna take 3-4 murders before theres a real lead
One of the mods I linked in the description helps with that.. the configuration settings one. There's a setting in it where you can tweak the time between murders so you're not always waiting. Because I agree, I'm the same way.
I just don't have street vendors. NPCs walk up to the booths and get food but there is never a vendor. The trucks are never open either. On my 4th case and tthink I have to start a new save

Yeah same here, it's just pretty easy once you learn the tricks to all the cases. Once you get the same case two or three times, you have a pretty good idea on what to do.
@@thatboywags I wish I had to compare finger prints or something. I wouldn't just walk around like literal robocop. "Excuse me citizen, there is a crime being committed in kunjo 1103, I must leave." Arrives on scene. Knows who lives there. Where they work. Who they know. Scans the front door. Rules out the two cop finger prints, rules out the vic and the room mates finger prints, finds one extra. Examines body. Determines from shoe print extra fingerprint is perp. Knows where they work, and hours, looks at watch, goes to office, arrests them. Goes to city hall, picks up forms fills it out then and deposits for reward. That times 300 is my game play now, even on a large city.
You should make a city called sinstin. The city is also called the city of sin. Because of crooked cops, greed, high death rates, gambling, prostitution, murders, rival gangs and many more. It’s said the chances of you surviving is 50/1, it’s also best to lock you home. Unless you want your things stolen.
Maybe you have a mod that prevents it, but I would just go to the government computer and look up all the names that start with L until I found one that was a street vendor. It sounds tedious, but actually doesn't take that long. I found a "QA Inspector" yesterday that way.
Sadly there's not many to choose from at the moment but you can still fine tune your experience quite a bit with it so good luck! And thanks for watching the videos!
Gameplay wise.. sadly no. I went into my in-game files and changed a few texts in order for it to display my name. Really just for roleplaying and that's all.
You used to be able to change some text files in order to display any text on a restaurant. But I haven't been able to do it since this video actually.

The txt file? the text file it generates for me is short and doesnt have shop names
@@topsniper47 no, the CIT file. At first it looks like a large jumbled mess, but if you Ctrl+H, you can find and replace the names you're looking for
