You have a lovely reading voice! I like audiobooks performed by the author because they know the exact inflection to use, the little details to emphasize and how to keep people engaged in their stories.
It is so good to have someone who knows about horses write a medieval novel. I really enjoyed this. Of course, everything is better through the ears of a horse, or a mule.🙂
AAAAHH!!! "Phantom"?!?! A shout out to Ghost?? I love that you've immortalized your precious, gorgeous horse by writing him into a story. 😃❤🤩 He deserves that, I think.
Pledged on Kickstarter this morning. Very much enjoyed the reading. The imagery in the book is outstanding and immersive. Can't wait to actually read it. Also will enjoy the audiobook. The way an author reads his or her own work adds so much. Congratulations! One more successful quest for the Modern Knight.
@@zeldasleepyfall7055 why the hell do I never hear this in audiobook readings? This is like a glitch in the matrix. It should be mandatory, turn the page, makes a page turning sound.
I's so happy you managed to put at least one "good boooy" here 😁 It's obvious that you know what you're writing about, everything seems real ! And the characters are already endearing, even after a few pages. And I love the kindness and humor of your writing ! Now I can't wait to read what comes next ! Thank you my lord !
Did not expect this when I started it. Good on you sir. Please give that beautiful horse a good brushing and a couple good apples please. You may have a future in audio books I think. I’d listen.
Pledged this morning. Me and my wife love your content and find it absolutely fascinating. As a fan of the fantasy genre I cannot wait to receive my copy!
I enjoyed that reading tremendously! And listening while sharing your view over Talos' and Muley-with-no-name's ears made it doubly enjoyable! Can we please have another reading, this time accompanied by Ghost? Pretty please??
Love what you have read so far. You do need to read your own novel, as you understand it in much more depth, and your voice is so soothing and draws the reader in. Great story, you have brought this period to life, and I will be purchasing your book in the New Year. Congratulations Jason.
I don't usually do audio books, and I haven't read a medieval fantasy novel like yours in quite a while! But that was just a delight to listen to. I imagine I'll be soon contributing :)
When I found out that you were writing a fantasy novel, my interest was piqued. Now, getting a taste of the story, my interest has peaked. I am proud to have backed your project. I wish you great success.
My goodness, that was wonderful. Characterful, good indicators of motivation & what matters to the characters. Loved the great explanation of “why they were there” Looking forward to the Kickstarter!!!
Cheers for the video! I had a video request. Could you make a video on how peasants used to grow fruits and veggies back then? Showing how they made compost from surrounding seasonal materials, how they developped heirlooms and landraces fruits and vegetetables varieties that were specific to their lands and could resist local pests and climate. How they saved seeds for following years. What food they grew for summer harvest and what food they grew to store for long winters, and how they stored those. How every peasants had a big garden in their backyard, which was 100% self-sufficient, resilient and 100% renewable ... I think their farming technique was way superior than what it is today, in this world of monocultures and pesticides, and I think it would be a fascinating subject to cover and make people think about. Cheers!
I have been working on a book and finally got to the ending and have done my three edits; and hope to have it published before the end of this year. It is satisfying to finally finish.
I saved this for a wee bedtime story, I was delighted to see a little cameo from that amazing Mule with no Name! He looks like he's on high alert mode, I bet not much gets past him! Thank you for reading this, not a huge audio book person, however, you really have just proved you need to read this yourself! I don't think this community will tolerate anything less! lol thank you again, I've had a very entertaining day with all of this! ❤❤❤
Thank you for reading us a preview of your book Jason. Will be pledging on kickstarter. Can’t wait to read the book, and would definitely listen to the audio. Enjoyed hearing you read this snippet, and riding along through the woods with a seated view 😊
I shouldnt have watched, now how am I supposed to patiently wait on the Kickstarter completion. Very excited for the book, and the audiobook when available.
What? You had it printed with a devilish contraption instead of employing three score of scriveners to scribble away with quill and oak gall ink. Pray, tell thee what is it printed upon. Parchment, linen paper or pulverized trees?
Already backed on kickstarter! The excitement is immense. I pray Mr. Kingsley for success and prosperity in your career and life. From one of your earliest followers. Sultan a history enthusiast from Saudi Arabia.
Now i don't know about the requirements to knight someone, but Jason's dedication for educating others about medieval life and the fact its free to enjoy makes him worthy of such title in my book :)
Aw I know all your horses are magnificent but it was the rear head view of Muley that caught my attention. I love that animal. Yes, it did distract me from listening to your accidentally (?) funny story. Extreme detail of weapons...quick pass over killing of opponents. No gore, cleaning up after letting blood, dealing with the corpses.....But a proper count and location of pennants, images thereon..... I know I'm not your targeted reader...be curious to know who you envisage is?
Beautiful reading, thank you! Lovely to hear your voice - both literary and literal - in this preview. I know it's a lot of work but, honestly, the phrase "good boy" really only has one voice.... 😊
The only celebrities I've ever wanted to personally meet are all British: Jason Kingsley, Mike Loades, Graham Hancock, Gordon Sumner, Jeremy Clarkson. That's about my entire list.
This would make a terrific setting for a tabletop roleplaying game. Or, oh I don't know, a video game. If only you had some connections with a gaming software company...
Watching this gorgeous riding footage got me thinking, were medieval forests denser on average? Fun idea for your future video if you fancy researching about the topic
Love it, looking forward to the audiobook! My teacher would critique the frequency with which you used "He" to start sentences - supposedly the perspective is implied and the redundancy distracting - but I appreciate the immersion it brings. That's the only comment that comes to mind. Excellent work, and well read!
You’ll want a voice director and sound engineer to do it proper, but absolutely yes I’m all about an audiobook version. This also absolutely sold me on picking up the book. Knew you’d be good at this.
Campaign link is here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/modernknight/lord-of-blackthorne
Okay, yes. This only reaffirms that an audio book read by Jason will be absolutely awesome!
You have a lovely reading voice! I like audiobooks performed by the author because they know the exact inflection to use, the little details to emphasize and how to keep people engaged in their stories.

yeah, I could listen to that voice all day long.
Thanks, that's very kind.

Thank you very much!
I love the sound from the flipping of the pages! 😊

Sir Jason, I must admit that your reading voice is warm and comforting, like a fleece blanket.
Good job.
I was already ‘in’ for the kickstarter, but now I’m even more excited for the book and the story that you’re telling.
12:32 Ahhhh! But what is the answer? I wasn't expecting to be left on a cliffhanger! But now I must know! 😁
I's so happy you managed to put at least one "good boooy" here 😁 It's obvious that you know what you're writing about, everything seems real ! This guy is such a delight
Did not expect this when I started it.
Good on you sir.
Please give that beautiful horse a good brushing and a couple good apples please.
You may have a future in audio books I think. I’d listen.
Awh yish, snuggly in my blanket and relaxing in a good chair. Story time!
This has confirmed my choice to get the book and that the moment that an audiobook is available, I will be buying it immediately!
Pledged this morning. Me and my wife love your content and find it absolutely fascinating. As a fan of the fantasy genre I cannot wait to receive my copy!
I’d listen to more of you reading books! Brilliant 😊
Movie next I think. You'd be brilliant in main role and as director/costume designer.
I hope Rebellion does a medieval title in the future with you at the helm, your content is always so captivating :)
My jaw dropped in indignation at the end there, right when it was getting so good! Excellent job, both the story and the reading
I enjoyed that reading tremendously! And listening while sharing your view over Talos' and Muley-with-no-name's ears made it doubly enjoyable!

When I say I cannot wait for the audiobook...
I don't usually do audio books, and I haven't read a medieval fantasy novel like yours in quite a while! But that was just a delight to listen to. I imagine I'll be soon contributing :)
Congrats on the Kickstarter success, Jason! Already got my pledge in, _hours ago_ , and can't wait to get my hands on it! \o/
When I found out that you were writing a fantasy novel, my interest was piqued. Now, getting a taste of the story, my interest has peaked. I am proud to have backed your project. I wish you great success.
I know it’s going to be hard to do, but if/when it comes, the audiobook read by the author will be amazing. If it doesn’t, alas, but I understand
It seems that you wrote this with immersion in mind and it’s exactly what I was looking for. Perfect.
Thanks for taking us along on your rides with Talos (?) and Mule With No Name while you read this portion of your new book.
My goodness, that was wonderful.
Characterful, good indicators of motivation & what matters to the characters. Loved the great explanation of “why they were there”
Looking forward to the Kickstarter!!!
Can’t wait to buy it here in my country or through Amazon👌🏻
Storytime! Thank you, Jason. May you sell many books!
Wonderful! You have a great voice for audiobooks, but no surprise :)! Looking forward to more!

I loved this excerpt. Atmosphere's fantastic. I would love to read the book when it comes out.
So funny that you're goal has been reached before you got to post this lol ❤❤❤
I know! All that fun effort and we got funded already!
I saved this for a wee bedtime story, I was delighted to see a little cameo from that amazing Mule with no Name! He looks like he's on high alert mode, I bet not much gets past him! Pairing your reading with a horse ride definitely works.
Audiobook narrated by Jason Kingsley perhaps? I’d buy that
Thank you for reading us a preview of your book Jason. Will be pledging on kickstarter. Can’t wait to read the book, and would definitely listen to the audio. Enjoyed hearing you read this snippet, and riding along through the woods with a seated view 😊
Thank you so much for this treat. All the best from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀
I love the video accompanying this reading!
Thank you for the sneak peak of your work! It sounds amazing and I can't wait to read it.
I just ordered the collector's edition. This is going to be Epic!
That was great! Will check out the Kickstarter for sure! But now I'm more excited about the might be audio book! 😊
Just pledged, can't wait to read it!
i already contributed for the slip case and I'm just glad to see that my money seems to have been well spent
I shouldnt have watched, now how am I supposed to patiently wait on the Kickstarter completion. Very excited for the book, and the audiobook when available.
Awesome work Jason! Excited to read the novel (and its sequels)!
Thanks for the reading and video! I wish you success in your ventures!
Nice to see the horse & mule footage !
Oh I loved it. Great story and an awesome orator .
What? You had it printed with a devilish contraption instead of employing three score of scriveners to scribble away with quill and oak gall ink.
Pray, tell thee what is it printed upon. Parchment, linen paper or pulverized trees?
Awesome writing my friend! And an awesome reading voice/accent!
This is an amazing adventure!! Your reading voice is perfect! Can't wait to get the book!
Sell it as an audio book too. I will definitely purchase it.
Already backed on kickstarter! The excitement is immense. I pray Mr. Kingsley for success and prosperity in your career and life. From one of your earliest followers. Sultan a history enthusiast from Saudi Arabia.
Much appreciated!
Pledged on Kickstarter this afternoon and can't wait to read the book
Cannot wait for the audiobook!
I have a feeling Phantom is going to be my favorite character. The horse, man's forgotten best friend.
I really enjoyed your readings from your book. So nice to see Talos and the mule as well.
That was actually great, and it's pretty well written. Can't wait to read it.
Just made my pledge! Cannot wait to get my copy!
Now i don't know about the requirements to knight someone, but Jason's dedication for educating others about medieval life and the fact its free to enjoy makes him worthy of such title in my book :)
Yay!!!! What a treat, thank you so much. This made my sick day at home ❤️🩹

Wow, what a trail, misty, could be spooky at dusk. The book sounds terrific.
This sounds great, looking forward to it

Backed it as soon as the email came through! I definitely can’t wait!
I plan on getting a copy of the audiobook once it's on Audible!
This sounds amazing! I'm definitely picking one up the moment the kickstarter begins!
Pledged! It sounds like this will be an exciting read!
Watching this gorgeous riding footage got me thinking, were medieval forests denser on average? Fun idea for your future video if you fancy researching about the topic
I could definitely listen to this
Beautiful horse, love the viewpoint. I prefer Greys though :)
A tale of a knight, read by a knight? Yes, please!!
I think that books are always better 'read by the author.' 😊
Looking forward to buying and reading this book
Backed! And I see you're already very much funded, congrats!
This is cool. I like that there is horse riding video for the background.
Excited for the book. Might not get a special edition, but definitely going to get a copy of the book
I can't wait to get my copy. You gave already smashed your goal 🎉. I know an audiobook won't be the quickest thing to do but I sincerely hope u do.
Awesome! I really enjoyed this.
That was fun. Nice to hear horses written by a horseman.
Epic!!! Freaking love this.
Well, I dare say you've sold me on this book of yours.
This was very enjoyable, you have a good voice. I will definitely buy the audiobook
Exciting😊.... Congratulations

Have already signed up for the Kickstarter but a welcome sneak peak.
So cool. Thanks for this!
This is quite gripping, I look forward to getting my hands on it.
