Yes earnable mounts are great. They also need mount vendors to sell zone specific mounts, not just the same 3 horses everywhere. If I play in Vvardenfell the mount vendor should sell Guar or Nix-ox mounts for example. They can have achievement locked mounts as well like they do with furnishings. These zone specific mounts can be ratty looking since they are meant to be starter mounts. Then you move onto better mounts, but they should be themed to the zone or dlc.
Very sadly, there is ZERO reason for them to work on ANYTHING, that is not going to return them money. For example, you think they fix a bug for free? NO, they fix it so they do not lose some paying players. I agree 100% with your mount idea and I have many ideas myself, but there is zero reason for them to do that. This is the sad reality of corporate gaming now.
RIGHT? when i first started i was disappointed i couldnt get unique zone mounts in dlc zone. imagine getting a basic guar in vvardenfell or a basic senche in elsweyr. there will be more incentive to dump gold or get players to access these dlc
This doesn't seem any different than any of the other expansions really. There is usually an outfit to get through questing, sometimes a side quest and a non-combat pet from farming the public dungeons. How is this a step in the right direction? It is like a step in a circle.
Kind've an extremely misleading video title. The only difference in earnable loot between this chapter and previous is that with Necrom we can get a mount. Otherwise, with other chapters we also got a pet, costumes, etc.. Don't huff the copium too hard.
What I would like to see is ZoS update the old Vet dungeons, Trials, and zones with earnable skins/mounts/or polymorphs that fit their thematics. Even add base zone new earnable stuff to let people earn that match the zone. It would be great to go back through it all and relax and earn new stuff for old content that never had skins/mounts/polys and stuff that actually LOOK good
Honestly the rewards seem similar to what we already have. Just like the daily login it’s very lackluster and doesn’t give a wow factor. Maybe if these items didn’t look like items we already have then yeah it would be cool. But we already have small rodent like pets, dwarven robot pets, bug mounts and that sheep mount. Not called by those names but they are just recolors. Regardless it’s free and doesn’t cost money to the player after the purchase of the chapter. Still I wanna see better rewards on the daily login. It should be so good that even vet players are wanting to login even if they are burnt out.

Ackchyually they have at least 4 models just for horses, at least 3 models for cats, and at least different creatures with at least one model a piece. Your point still stands, though
Every chapter has quest and achievement rewards. This isn’t new. What we need is a reason to even complete most of the bas game quests and zones. Almost all have no incentives.

i dont think its too little too late but its long overdue, im glad theyre adding in unlockable stuff for us lesser mortals who dont do vet trial trifects/achievements or even vet trials but we will have to wait and see if its enuff to keep the interest of the majority of players or will it just be the achievement hunters tracking them all down
25/25 vs 50 in public dungeons its no different then what we already have in game. Different/better would be reducing the grind, as in fewer or better drop rates. Requiring fishing or recolored mounts which a very small percent actually use is not better.
what its nothing if you play skyrim chapter you can get more uniqe skin weapon antiquaities etc. we was saying rewards its not skin or someting like that like grind things
I've complained about the lack of rewards in the game since the launch of TamUnlimited. Like the final reward from Sotha Sil for saving his butt & finishing the dlc's MSQ, was just a worthless non-unique purple chest. UNIQUE ElderScrolls gear items are sorely missing from ESO questlines.
I think this is definitely a step in the right direction. Although some things like this have always been something they've added with dlc, the mount is definitely a nice change.
Well I'm neutral because on one hand they give more pets (meh) and one mount (which is a simple recolor, with annoying requirements like fishing) and on the other one there will be only one motif style (I still hope they add more with time) and the collector style is once more a simple outfit one instead of a motif one ...

I sure wish someone would have covered the Almalexia tot deck😔. Would have been nice to see a decent preview. 50 rare drops for a squirrel seems a tad steep imo but....of course I'll get it.
I like that they're are things you can do in game that don't require vet dlc dungeon or trial events to do. There should be more of this. All the skins motifs, mounts, etc. That could have been earned via questing and they're all crown store. I only know one zone that gives a polymorph for questing of all the zones only one. Definitely need more of this. And no more pay wall or dungeon/trial gate kept rewards.
Another random suggestion going forward is try adding more pve focused guilds in the future. Add a join able necromancer guild with quests involving digging up graves or turning certain enemies into skeletons or minions. Same thing with vampires. There's so much guild idea's they could do and add mini mini games to them like a league of brawlers that is the brawling mini game or arm wrestling games.
It's ok. But this needs to be a consistent thing. If not better. My issue really is, why make the effort when I can just buy something in the crown store. Or gamble with crates. Everything in the store still looks more cool than the in game rewards. Also I really don't need any more pets or mounts or markings. Why not have a banker or merchant as a reward? Or those new gathering animations? I mean, we always get the same kind of rewards over and over again. I have more pets than characters. So a little diversity of reward types would also be cool.
Key word - trial. That means either you have to have a very good group to run the strict requirements to get it or pay a lot of gold for a carry. Seems ... fun.
I've been playing for about 7 years with me being most active in the last 4. I'd say better late than never. Shit had old crew that quit just because you couldn't earn shit from questing might get 100 "returning players" just from the people I know alone. Keep it up eso and ya might just avoid the reaper.
Great start; they need to retroactively start adding rewards like more mounts outfits and pets to older pieces of the game if they want to reward system to feel cohesive and satisfying
This. Personally, I don't see what is all that different in the new rewards. Same old same. Questing rewards would be nice, and personally would incentivize me to actually go through the entire game.
50 pieces, 2 Public Dungeons for 1 small squirrel. They didn't listen, they ctrl+c ctrl+v High Isle instead of I don't know give 1 reward per dungeon like the other chapters :/ I'm not saying they should give out houses, mounts or customs for "free" or effortlessly, but there is a big difference between 50 pieces for a squirrel pet and 50 pieces for a dummy target
Glad you mentioned the Fate Scryer costume, it's one of my favorites and fits perfectly with the Arcanist. One of the first things I plan to do once Necrom drops is rush through the Necrom MSQ with one of my max level alts just to get this costume unlocked so I can wear it immediately on my new Arcanist character.
Costumes for completing the story are definitely welcome. Greymoor gave us the Jarl outfit, which has been my outfit ever since. As for mounts and pets, the squirrel is the only one I would want, but I have no intention of farming all that nonsense.
I quit Eso after feeling like Id done everything and got annoyed with the steep crown store prices. I miss the days of feeling emmersed and exploring all the areas. Morrowind, Clockwork and Summerset being an amazing time for me. I used to love doing the quests as a break from the trial/dungeon grind aspect that i soon found out how toxic people are the higher you go. I always find it sad that beautiful areas are dead now. I wish they would put more incentives to go back to areas. I also think their events are trash. Ive never enjoyed them and isnt that supposed to be the point of them? I was tempted to come back as i enjoyed doing the 'savior of' titles but seeing the antiquarian and angler added just put me off as i never enjoyed those aspects of the game. I swear the devs just love tedium and recolouring mounts. Theres nothing more lazy than a recolured mount
As an ESO player that does not touch Trials and Vet Dungeons, this is good, because there are more casual players in ESO than the hardcore ones, and it sucks that only Trial and Vet players will get the cool stuffs, and sometimes we had to go an extra mile to pay for a Trial run just so we can get the stuffs
Out of curiosity, as I don't recall seeing it mentioned in another video beforehand, but is it possible to start an arcanist character in the Necrom world zones from the start, or do you still need to go through a pre-start zone, and then travel there. I'm kind of hoping to have a Necrom immersion, ie..roleplay a character sourced in Necrom's new territories, as a follower of Hermais Mora. It'll be a little immersion breaking if I have to start off somewhere else, and then hop boats all the way there, but if I have to, I will. I've just played through so many of the same story quests, with multiple characters, that I really just want to start my Arcanist off someplace new, and Apocrypha just looks so frick'n amazing.

There is now only ONE 'tutorial' quest that you play through, and at the end, you then have the option to go through the portal to whatever destination you want to start in. Unless you've already played through the tutorial, then you can SKIP the tutorial completely and end up in the newest DLC zone.
So whats the difference to the current system? Besides getting one mount nothing changes - there should be triple the amount of earnable content as the bare minimum imo (and not just in this new chapter)
Looking better much better to me this year than previous two. What I would like to see are basic mounts for sale in their zone. So in base game morrowind a guar in guild wars 2 this is how it works and they still make mad cash on skins. Also ridable Wamasu and Charus please. These should be bare bones type mounts and remember if gives players extra incentive to buy dlc and expansions if they can purchase basic mount versions there as well. I would like them to go back and add basic purchasable mounts like this next year and going forward. Once they have the basic mounts out of the way they will be done for all time lol as each region is on the map and future chapters can just keep basic mounts and add mounts.
I took a seven month break, after playing for almost 8 years straight, I came back for a week to see if I could get back into it, I had enough gold so I found a crown seller and got all the newest DLC up-to-date. was welcomed back by several people, said hi to a bunch of people I used to know, It took less than two weeks to be fully reminded why I left the game in the first place… it’s just not fun anymore, The people are great, the community is cool for the most part, but it’s the same old boring stuff, the same exhausting RMG grind everywhere you go for whatever you want, the same occasional stuck up elitist D bag that wants to tell you how to play the game you pay two different subscriptions to play. The same boring NPC dialogue regurgitated from every NPC in the entire game talking to you as if you’re some nobody in the world, Yet I have spent almost a decade defeating Daedric lords and liberating entire zones yet no NPCs in game recognize me for my achievements. The storyline does not recognize who your character really is, every new zone story treats you as if you’re some random faceless nobody as if your legend does not carry over. No matter how hard you work on your character, no matter how many skins or achievements you get. no matter how many of the strongest demons you defeat in elder scrolls online, the world does not notice any of your character’s actions. After you defeat Molag, and supposedly stop the plane meld, the plane meld still exists, no matter what you do, nothing in the game will ever change. It took me eight years to notice that all of my grinding and my efforts was to get a new shiny piece of gear, furniture, or material. While all of my achievements went to waste because the world I was adventuring in, never noticed. I want to come back and test out this character, but I don’t wanna play the same dungeons over and over again, I don’t want to do the same quest line over and over and over again but I have no other choice if I want to come back and play this character.
Why did they stop putting skins as vet trials rewards, like wtf i got vsdr body markings and i dont even use them, so wth is the point of them, they dont even look that good, really dissapointing that its a third new trial that gives dumb ass body markings
I haven't bought an expansion since elsweyr, coming back to ESO and seeing they added just ONE earnable mount(thats just another reskin of an already existing mount, of course) for an expansion is sad. Other mmos like ff14 manage to throw earnable cool mounts, pets and clothing at the player in droves for the expansions AND free updates. Meanwhile Zenimax is literally choking the fun out of their own game trying to milk their players for every bit of money. Maybe in a year or so I'll grab a key for necrom that costs nothing just to try the arcanist, but nothing else really stands out about morrowind 2 to me that'd make me want to rush back into this game.
Kinda feel like if they’re going to make pets and Mounts a quest reward, they should at least make the quest about why that creature exists and what makes it so special. Don’t just throw a pet in as a reward and be like, “yeh this was bros talking squirrel, it’s yours now”, no that’s lame. The quest should be like how that NPC was in the Soul Cairn looking for Arvak : Skyrim It would also be cool af if we could have capes and cloaks, minor yet long term importance After all we’re lords and gods, capes should be an option
Everything kind of drop showed has existed in game for years, except the mount. This is not a "step in the right direction", this is a side eye glance in a direction. come on man....
I like the fact that there are more earnables - i just pray that the leads for the mythics are not as rare as the Galen one from Treasure map #2.....that sux. I've given up ever hoping to get that one. Sure it's a lead for a skin most players don't like, but that's besides the point.
They also need to think up a way so people who can't do dungeons/raids can earn the outfit dyes,skins etc etc that are locked behind dungeon/raid achieves. I look after someone disabled so I can't do dungeons and whatnot as I could be called away at anytime and then you tend to get kicked from the group. Locking collectibles/dyes/leads away in dungeons/raids isn't that good for people who can't do those things. I'm sure they could think up some other way to earn these things, at least for the base game/older content.

Right direction for sure....kinda heavy on the requirements for the hero achievement imo...no other zone requires angler that I can think of....I like that they are working rewards in outside of trials for sure...not a Nix Ox fan myself but I'm sure some ppl will love it
earnable rewards is fine idea, but these then again connect with farming mythics, is pain, and just pain only. still faming with 3 chracters high isle and galen to get finally all parts, it is no fun to do this.
Considering this game has a sub to access all content, the lack of in game rewards are hilariously bad. I think Necrom has fooled a lot of people into thinking ZOS is making changes, but they are the same as they have always been. Minimum effort to maintain sales... Imagine being excited that an MMO expansion has a handful of pets and costumes that can be earned in game.
I used to love ESO but the reward system is not the main problem for me but in fact the power progression that feel inexistant once you have all the sets you want. Your entire DPS back in the day where based on how good you where to weave light attack or not. I have to say I did try to do that for over 2 years and never where able to pass the 28k DPS back then and even with the addition of jewelry crafting and being able to get a full yellow set of everything, my DPS never got any better. I really hope one day (maybe it's already the case and if so please tell me) we'll see gear progression or better ways to feel stronger with each new extension of the game like any normal MMORPG. Let's be honest, I did finish the maelstrom many time back then and even got a fire and lightning staff of each (main mage here) and finishing that hard content was super underwhelming to realize that these best in slot weapon where changing Absolutly nothing to my DPS...So yeah ESO and Guild wars 2 have this in common when it come to end game, I feel like there is a solid lack of doing hard stuff with being rewarded with feeling stronger for what you did. great video by the way :)
Honestly ZoS should give up trying to be different and add things that other games have. Things such as a reputation system like WoW and better siege like GW2 and Fortnite.
and these in-game rewards r not even worth the price of the expansion necrom pack really. They look like trash...and I dont care at all for that ugly spider looking mount. I already have one that looks almost identical to it.

Do you have access to stats on the likely percentage of players who will end up with these rewards? From previous chapters for example?
So many ahcievements give nothing, like collecting pages and art etc, bosses should drop some mounts also.

It's ok. But this needs to be a consistent thing. If not better. My issue really is, why make the effort when I can just buy something in the crown store. Or gamble with crates. Everything in the store still looks more cool than the in game rewards.
Also I really don't need any more pets or mounts or markings. Why not have a banker or merchant as a reward? Or those new gathering animations? I mean, we always get the same kind of rewards over and over again. I have more pets than characters. So a little diversity of reward types would also be cool.
I may come back, maybe not. The dwarven sphere companion is something of interest to me.
How about something for reaching 3600 cp? I saw a video where someone reached it and nothing happened. I was like, really? Nothing?

Key word - trial. That means either you have to have a very good group to run the strict requirements to get it or pay a lot of gold for a carry. Seems ... fun.

I've been playing for about 7 years with me being most active in the last 4. I'd say better late than never. Shit had old crew that quit just because you couldn't earn shit from questing might get 100 "returning players" just from the people I know alone. Keep it up eso and ya might just avoid the reaper.

It's nice that they have some decent rewards now, but they should really go back and add rewards for previous content.
This. Personally, I don't see what is all that different in the new rewards. Same old same. Questing rewards would be nice, and personally would incentivize me to actually go through the entire game.
It is a good step forward. And as far as I've seen so far I am really impressed with necrom and the direction ESO is going😊
50 pieces, 2 Public Dungeons for 1 small squirrel. They didn't listen, they ctrl+c ctrl+v High Isle instead of I don't know give 1 reward per dungeon like the other chapters :/ I'm not saying they should give out houses, mounts or customs for "free" or effortlessly, but there is a big difference between 50 pieces for a squirrel pet and 50 pieces for a dummy target
Glad you mentioned the Fate Scryer costume, it's one of my favorites and fits perfectly with the Arcanist. One of the first things I plan to do once Necrom drops is rush through the Necrom MSQ with one of my max level alts just to get this costume unlocked so I can wear it immediately on my new Arcanist character.
Wish they would add an area for pvp where it was full loot drop. but put bosses with badass loot there.

Costumes for completing the story are definitely welcome. Greymoor gave us the Jarl outfit, which has been my outfit ever since.
As for mounts and pets, the squirrel is the only one I would want, but I have no intention of farming all that nonsense.

I quit Eso after feeling like Id done everything and got annoyed with the steep crown store prices. I miss the days of feeling emmersed and exploring all the areas. Morrowind, Clockwork and Summerset being an amazing time for me. I used to love doing the quests as a break from the trial/dungeon grind aspect that i soon found out how toxic people are the higher you go.
I always find it sad that beautiful areas are dead now. I wish they would put more incentives to go back to areas.
I also think their events are trash. Ive never enjoyed them and isnt that supposed to be the point of them?
I was tempted to come back as i enjoyed doing the 'savior of' titles but seeing the antiquarian and angler added just put me off as i never enjoyed those aspects of the game. I swear the devs just love tedium and recolouring mounts.

As an ESO player that does not touch Trials and Vet Dungeons, this is good, because there are more casual players in ESO than the hardcore ones, and it sucks that only Trial and Vet players will get the cool stuffs, and sometimes we had to go an extra mile to pay for a Trial run just so we can get the stuffs
Out of curiosity, as I don't recall seeing it mentioned in another video beforehand, but is it possible to start an arcanist character in the Necrom world zones from the start, or do you still need to go through a pre-start zone, and then travel there. I'm kind of hoping to have a Necrom immersion, ie..roleplay a character sourced in Necrom's new territories, as a follower of Hermais Mora. It'll be a little immersion breaking if I have to start off somewhere else, and then hop boats all the way there, but if I have to, I will. I've just played through so many of the same story quests, with multiple characters, that I really just want to start my Arcanist off someplace new, and Apocrypha just looks so frick'n amazing.
Yes, your new character will always "spawn" in the latest chapter expansion you own so after Necrom releases it will be made there :)

There is now only ONE 'tutorial' quest that you play through, and at the end, you then have the option to go through the portal to whatever destination you want to start in. Unless you've already played through the tutorial, then you can SKIP the tutorial completely and end up in the newest DLC zone.
I like the new earnable stuff, would be nice if they went back and fleshed out a few of the older areas with the same thing, would be super nice!
So whats the difference to the current system? Besides getting one mount nothing changes - there should be triple the amount of earnable content as the bare minimum imo (and not just in this new chapter)

Looking better much better to me this year than previous two. What I would like to see are basic mounts for sale in their zone. So in base game morrowind a guar in guild wars 2 this is how it works and they still make mad cash on skins. Also ridable Wamasu and Charus please. These should be bare bones type mounts and remember if gives players extra incentive to buy dlc and expansions if they can purchase basic mount versions there as well. I would like them to go back and add basic purchasable mounts like this next year and going forward. Once they have the basic mounts out of the way they will be done for all time lol as each region is on the map and future chapters can just keep basic mounts and add mounts.
Earnable anything/everything is a good step in the right direction. Wish I could buy another character slot or 3 for the new class.
I took a seven month break, after playing for almost 8 years straight, I came back for a week to see if I could get back into it, I had enough gold so I found a crown seller and got all the newest DLC up-to-date.
was welcomed back by several people, said hi to a bunch of people I used to know, It took less than two weeks to be fully reminded why I left the game in the first place…
it’s just not fun anymore, The people are great, the community is cool for the most part, but it’s the same old boring stuff, the same exhausting RMG grind everywhere you go for whatever you want, the same occasional stuck up elitist D bag that wants to tell you how to play the game you pay two different subscriptions to play.
The same boring NPC dialogue regurgitated from every NPC in the entire game talking to you as if you’re some nobody in the world, Yet I have spent almost a decade defeating Daedric lords and liberating entire zones yet no NPCs in game recognize me for my achievements.
The storyline does not recognize who your character really is, every new zone story treats you as if you’re some random faceless nobody as if your legend does not carry over.
No matter how hard you work on your character, no matter how many skins or achievements you get.
no matter how many of the strongest demons you defeat in elder scrolls online, the world does not notice any of your character’s actions.
After you defeat Molag, and supposedly stop the plane meld, the plane meld still exists, no matter what you do, nothing in the game will ever change.
It took me eight years to notice that all of my grinding and my efforts was to get a new shiny piece of gear, furniture, or material.
While all of my achievements went to waste because the world I was adventuring in, never noticed.
I want to come back and test out this character, but I don’t wanna play the same dungeons over and over again, I don’t want to do the same quest line over and over and over again but I have no other choice if I want to come back and play this character.

Why did they stop putting skins as vet trials rewards, like wtf i got vsdr body markings and i dont even use them, so wth is the point of them, they dont even look that good, really dissapointing that its a third new trial that gives dumb ass body markings
I haven't bought an expansion since elsweyr, coming back to ESO and seeing they added just ONE earnable mount(thats just another reskin of an already existing mount, of course) for an expansion is sad. Other mmos like ff14 manage to throw earnable cool mounts, pets and clothing at the player in droves for the expansions AND free updates. Meanwhile Zenimax is literally choking the fun out of their own game trying to milk their players for every bit of money.
Maybe in a year or so I'll grab a key for necrom that costs nothing just to try the arcanist, but nothing else really stands out about morrowind 2 to me that'd make me want to rush back into this game.
Kinda feel like if they’re going to make pets and Mounts a quest reward, they should at least make the quest about why that creature exists and what makes it so special.
Don’t just throw a pet in as a reward and be like, “yeh this was bros talking squirrel, it’s yours now”, no that’s lame.
The quest should be like how that NPC was in the Soul Cairn looking for Arvak : Skyrim
It would also be cool af if we could have capes and cloaks, minor yet long term importance

Everything kind of drop showed has existed in game for years, except the mount. This is not a "step in the right direction", this is a side eye glance in a direction. come on man....
I like the fact that there are more earnables - i just pray that the leads for the mythics are not as rare as the Galen one from Treasure map #2.....that sux. I've given up ever hoping to get that one. Sure it's a lead for a skin most players don't like, but that's besides the point.

Give all overland sets a Heavy chest pc, Medium Legs pc, or light Belt pc as an overland quest reward.

Nothing you've described here is new to an expansion...
They also need to think up a way so people who can't do dungeons/raids can earn the outfit dyes,skins etc etc that are locked behind dungeon/raid achieves. I look after someone disabled so I can't do dungeons and whatnot as I could be called away at anytime and then you tend to get kicked from the group. Locking collectibles/dyes/leads away in dungeons/raids isn't that good for people who can't do those things. I'm sure they could think up some other way to earn these things, at least for the base game/older content.

Too little too late. Why grind for a MID mount when I can spend 1000$ for a much better one. They only care about crown gambling.
What do non combats pets actually do?? I never use them because it irritates me to have something running about after me which does literally nothing to help. Am I missing something or are these just cosmetic?
Right direction for sure....kinda heavy on the requirements for the hero achievement imo...no other zone requires angler that I can think of....I like that they are working rewards in outside of trials for sure...not a Nix Ox fan myself but I'm sure some ppl will love it

Considering this game has a sub to access all content, the lack of in game rewards are hilariously bad. I think Necrom has fooled a lot of people into thinking ZOS is making changes, but they are the same as they have always been. Minimum effort to maintain sales... Imagine being excited that an MMO expansion has a handful of pets and costumes that can be earned in game.
My impression of eso missions go talk to so and so. My impression of fallout 76 missions go to so and so. How'd I do.
I used to love ESO but the reward system is not the main problem for me but in fact the power progression that feel inexistant once you have all the sets you want.
Your entire DPS back in the day where based on how good you where to weave light attack or not. I have to say I did try to do that for over 2 years and never where able to pass the 28k DPS back then and even with the addition of jewelry crafting and being able to get a full yellow set of everything, my DPS never got any better. I really hope one day (maybe it's already the case and if so please tell me) we'll see gear progression or better ways to feel stronger with each new extension of the game like any normal MMORPG.
Let's be honest, I did finish the maelstrom many time back then and even got a fire and lightning staff of each (main mage here) and finishing that hard content was super underwhelming to realize that these best in slot weapon where changing Absolutly nothing to my DPS...So yeah ESO and Guild wars 2 have this in common when it come to end game, I feel like there is a solid lack of doing hard stuff with being rewarded with feeling stronger for what you did.

and these in-game rewards r not even worth the price of the expansion necrom pack really. They look like trash...and I dont care at all for that ugly spider looking mount. I already have one that looks almost identical to it.
